I think it was also supposed to tie in to Ray being the one that saved Cindy in the end. She says "Ray you saved me", sounding somewhat surprised. It should have stayed in.

Wish they kept some of these, like the fireplace scene where they’re all gathered around and we get more backstory/context about the house, and the part where Brenda freaks out- it’s brilliant because in one of the earlier adaptations of Haunting of Hill House one of the characters gets struck in the eye from the snapping of the instrument’s string, so Brenda’s scene was perfect.
The full range of emotion Brenda shows Ray when they see each other again. She's hilarious as hell but also just a great actor. Shocked to know about Tori Spelling having scene's cut for not doing nudity, her scenes were perfectly deranged.
I mean that's what the fifth film should've been, but they apparently couldn't even try to wait for Anna Faris. Asheley Tisdale was originally cast to be her "non-indentical evil twin." And the best jokes in that otherwise abomination were the cabin the woods and evil dead ones too!

It's a shame because no movie should be so short and then networks have to rely on extra commercial padding a lot of the time. Whereas in these deleted scenes she talks about getting very spiritual between 1 and 2 and sensing things. Without these scenes it just seems like brenda is suddenly very intuitive out of nowhere, but with these deleted scenes in context there's a surprisingly cohesive throughline and bit of character consistency that you don't expect from these movies.
I believe sometimes, he can't handle those awkward roles, that he can't keep a straight face from laughing lol. His acting in video games, gives it away.
A lot of these scenes seem to be like a big part of the movie, lmao. Alex meeting Cindy and Brenda, though not much of a loss since "new college friend they befriended offscreen" isn't unusual. Cindy being surprised by Ray being alive could've made it in, they could easily cut the Brenda and Alex part since we just need to establish/joke about him being alive. Tim Curry having a ghost story, Brenda scene wasn't really funny but they could've reworked that to add more interaction with the whole group since the whole point of the plot is Tim's character trying to use them as bait for the house. Shorty and Hugh Kane weed gag could've been cut shorter, yeah sometimes these jokes are too long and overstay their welcome.

Was it on cable? Sometimes when the tv channels have to chop out too much of the movie to fit neatly into the timeslot they'll insert a few deleted scenes in there to fill out time. Idk about scary movie 2 but they definitely did it with the first one
