People say these XT660s are underpowered, I have the XT660X with a PCV, CCC Cans and a Stage 3 Airbox, its putting out about 53hp or so at the wheel I believe, its quite a bike, love how reliable it is!!!
Just love this video, watched it easily 20+ times, love the sound of that bike and a real honest review :) What is that intro music? Sounds great, tried searching for it but found nothing, any help would be magic :) Thanks Darren
Funny ass review. I agree, weatherman guesses most of the time as I have been caught out riding in the rain way too many times for them to have accurate equipment.
Did you check if the DB killers were on or off? If they were off you can always pop them back in if you want to go on a trip and there you go, quieter bike :)
TwystedThrottle what is your typical cruise speed on long trips? How is the shaking of this motorcycle when cruising? I assume it is also possible to ride for like 7 or 8 hours with the standard seat?
Im 16 now, so just cruisin on a scooter for the time, but when i turn 18, more propably 19-10 years old i think i will buy a used xt660z, i realy like the looks of the bike and i love the mid sized touring/enduro bikes like this. And in Norway you have three motorcylce classes, light mc(15kw) midclass(35kw) and heavy (36 and upwards to infinity) So if the xt660z goes as midclass, maximum 35kw i will have one :D
And I'm ALSO planning the same thing as you ;) but I live in the UK, same licences though, we can do our A2 (35kw) at 19 (2 months now!). I've been riding a 125 for 2 years now. Local dealer got a used one in recently and got my dad to take it out for a test ride to let me have a go on some private land and it was an animal ;) it had the same setup as this Tenere (k&n filter, exhausts, and a Kev mod fuel controller) so it has more acceleration and torque than a standard, and it accelerated really hard and pulled like a train. It was such a brilliant bike to ride and both of you won't be disappointed!! And in Norway you've got a lot of places to take it off-road too right? My uncle and cousins live in Hemsidal and I'm hoping to take a trip over there once I get my Tenere and maybe find somewhere to take it off-road :D Anyway, Good luck to you both ha en trygg tur (google translate)
@@jakob9913 6 years have passed and plans have changed alot, still havent got the time or enough cash to get my A2 license, so no, never got me one unfortunately
Hey man. I dont know what country are you in on the video. The problem with this bike in Brazil is that the plastics break because of the vibration, and the airfilter does not protect 100% the dusty that goes to the motor. very common problems in Brazil. Do you have the same problem or ave you ever heard these problems? tks mate
Nice bike and a nice sound. Speaking of Scooterhoon what happened to him as he has no video's posted on his channel anymore, or didn't the last time I looked anyway. Oh and now I know what the weather radar looks like except our closest one is Yarrawonga.
In no way did this bike feel underpowered. It's all about how the power is delivered down low that made it actually feel quite powerful. Sorry for the late reply
Australia, Melbourne. Looks like he's taking the freeway south/west out of Melbourne towards Geelong. The little roads looks like out through Laverton, thereabouts.

May I know what camera and headset do you use? So clear voice recorded!!
Very nice bike. I'm seriuosly considering getting one. I was also quite impersed on my test ride.

Sounds like a beast, I agree about the sound tho, could get a little too much at long trips.
Yeah, I love my loud exhausts, but on a bike to go long distances, I'd rather something quieter.
Same
Who needs a radio
what exhaust is tenere with?? I gotta know, sounds epic!!
great bike

Per-Martin Bjørk I'm planning the same thing as you, also in Norway. I'm on a WR125X though.

I'm fairly sure he gave the vlogging away. He had an awesome channel and I hope he picks it up again one day.
Hi,
Yes he did have a good channel, he should have at least kept his videos, and i think he lived up the hume highway about 60 km away from me.
TwystedThrottle Gunna miss the ENERGY of the ScooterHoon!!!!!
>:(
I think the exhaust is a scorpion? Not sure
what did happen to all scooterhoon's videos?
Ten - Err - Ray
Teh - Neh - Dii
How tall are you? I maybe want to buy that bike but fear not be able to get my whole foot down.
How it sounds, yes that's what is really critical. LOL.
seems like a solid machine, does it ever feel under powered at 48hp? Lot's of engine braking? Thanks:)

Oooh, I likes it.
Dont think i would get sick of the sound...Be nice on a looong offroad trip i reckon?
>:)
Nice Vid. What country is that? Do I see metric values? And you drive left.... hmmmm.. where is it?
Australia, Melbourne. Looks like he's taking the freeway south/west out of Melbourne towards Geelong. The little roads looks like out through Laverton, thereabouts.
