Nice video, I start my recovery from COVID I’m still quarantined In my stationary bike I start riding 3 sets of 20 minutes in a very slowly way and I play your video while riding . I really enjoyed Thank you
Your videos continue to inspire mountain bikers the world over! I can’t believe that I’ve been watching these videos since before you had 5K subscribers. You’ve really come a long way!
I like the lengthy unsegmented video. I'm taking a year off from riding and found it soothing to watch. Just sorta zoned out and watched the whole thing all at once.
The long cut was great! I don’t know that I would have time to watch every video if it were like this, but a few epic trails here and there is very much worth it!
This gets me geared up in the winter when things slow down AND it gears me up the rest of the year when I'm ready to rock the trails with a few idiots I surround myself with. Love it!
I just started another hobby, considering mountain bike riding! I've been a sportbike enthusiast for 50 years, adding touring to the menu last year when i bought a Honda Goldwing. However, I got hooked on watching mountain bike racing several weeks ago and I can't detach myself from it. I even lowered my 15-year-old Specialized Hardrock Comp HR (hardtail of course) from the garage ceiling and detailed it. I decided to pursue the basics and learn about both the machines and picking up pointers from watching u tube videos. I caught one of your videos with more to follow when you raced in BC for that seven-day saga that honestly blew me away. I really enjoyed your presentation, sportsmanship, humbleness, and dedication to sharing your experiences with us. You are a good dude man. Anyway, I'm not there yet and won't be for a while and when I say not there that means hitting the trails. I'm on the waitlist for two elective surgeries, caused by previous cumulative trauma injuries from motorcycle crashes and of all things, an injury I suffered playing football when I was a kid that put me in a full-body cast from neck to ankles for a year. My major motorcycle crash broke multiple bones, i.e., back, knee, shoulder, ankle, pelvis, dislocations, and internal bleeding, etc and was testimony that being in good shape can save your life. Coming up will be my fifth and sixth operations related to the crash and three years of rehab. In this latest case, it will be close to a year before I'll be able to ride, but in the meantime, I will be glued to reading about and watching all forms of videos related to mountain biking, including, of course, yours! I was thrilled to learn from your Downieville video there is a fantastic mountain bike facility there. I've been through that neck of the woods numerous times on my motorcycles and out of curiosity I wondered recently if there were many structured bike trails in my area outside of Sacramento, now I know of one, thanks! I'll look further to see if you have any instruction videos because you have a way of conversing that is positive while backed by many years of experience. In the early part of the video, you mentioned a fellow rider making a comment on the shuttle van about his hardtail bike and the response by one of his pals. No doubt there are many riders who own hardtail bikes, but I got the impression a full suspension bike certainly has the technological advantage. I know at my level of riding, a hardtail would be perfectly suitable and I suppose one would consider a full suspension as an upgrade as you increase your skill level and speed. The other obstacle is cost and since I'm an old fart and not crazy anymore, it doesn't make sense to me, assuming I keep my ego in check, to spend $3-$4K on a full-suspension bike. Despite its age, the bike I own has some nice parts on it, I doubt very much I'll outgrow it. Thanks a million for the time and effort you put into your work and it's great to see you are having a blast doing it. I'm looking forward to this new and crazy idea. If I can avoid a bad crash and another helicopter ambulance ride, I'll be good.
Holy shit! That video was amazing! Thanks for posting the entire ride! Great riding! Sat and watched the entire thing with my 5 yr old who has the flu! It made his day!
Thanks! Lots of fun to watch while I'm stuck inside on my trainer. All the trails around me have 18"+ of snow on them, and it's currently a whopping 1 degree F outside.
I watch your videos for a long time. You really inspired me to bring my bike from Switzerland to California to ride all the great trails. I did this ride twice because it was so much fun. Thank you for inspiring me and many others to go out and have fun. Thanks a lot!!!
Watched it from start to finish. Never get bored watching rides through that kind of country. Gorgeous place. The closest I can come to country like that is NewZealand. Love to see more long rides through those kind of places. Cheers from Brisbane Australia!
10 BKXC videos in one! I've viewed 20 minutes, and the good thing is that I can come back. It would be cool to make an MTB podcast with this type of video as the background footage. Anyway, thanks !
I really like how you plan out the commentary on your rides with the videos you release. It really shows how organized and passionate you are. thanks man.
Talking only about the first few minutes, it's the first track I watch and I think: It's there! Finally a track that I could do in the rhythm of this guy (or at least without losing sight of him in five seconds.) :)
In august 2018 downieville saw my worst MTB crash. At 22:07 you can see the log sticking out that caused it. I hit that log spun and was thrown in to that tree. split my helmet got a major concussion, broke my collar bone, and dislocated my arm. hiked back to the top using a inner tube as a sling... fun fact I also saw a bear on my hike out.
I love Downieville! Rode it back in the 90's when it first started on my 93' Fisher hardtail with Rock Shox Mag 21 (maybe 3" travel on a good day) They extended the Sunrise trail, never rode that section, but I will soon. Great video!
Loved it. Just road there 3 weeks ago for my first time and suffered a broken shoulder with ac separation. Couldn’t finish the ride. Happy to see the full ride and longer videos.
At Sunpeaks bc waiting for the DH park to open thinking, I still have a 1:15:29 long bkxc video to watch. So off to the fitness center i go for, you got it 1:15:29 of cardio. Loved the video, I'll watch the next one on tomorrow's cardio's session
Perfect timing! I was there two weeks ago and am going back with my son to ride next weekend. Now he can see exactly what we are going to be doing. Thanks!
Awesome Brian! I loved watching the whole ride, snot rockets and all. What a beautiful place, and the bear was quite a rare capture! You really have a way of bringing us the best from all over the word. Thank you from Michigan!
You will be riding with me this morning...and what a great one! Bucket list updated. No shame having Brian on while riding...makes me feel less lonely. That's sad but a sign of the times:(
This is so chilling, If you shut your eyes n just listen you feel like you on the bike lol you make your own track up in your mind just listening to the gear changes n ground which give you thought of speed. Love this one Brian :)
Really enjoyed this video. I like seeing all of the raw footage. Helps build my confidence for sure. You guys with all the years of experience have the same struggles as us newbies. Thank you for posting this ✌🏼
its nice a cold out in illinois right now...this was great to watch on the exercise bike....i got my computor hooked up to the tv and put the trainer right in front of the tv put my headphones in listening to def leppard and micheal jackson
Brian, just wanted to let you know, I rode Downiville on October 26th because of this video (I live in PA). Best ride of my life! If you ever get back to PA, you should check out the Johnstown Incline Trails. Very unique trails, you ride an inclined plane to the top and ride down.
That moment when you click a BKXC high quality video and realize it will be an over an hour! Awesome Brian! Gives an impression what following you on Patron must be like!
I rode downieville for the first time friday and it was absolutely amazing! I honestly preferred it more than windrock because of how far out it takes you and the rock gardens are crazy! Keep up the great videos and doing what you love! looking forward to the next!
Hell Yeah! I was there a couple of days before you. The conditions were perfect. I'm hoping to get back up there in a couple of weeks, but it will be dusty by then. That bear siting was kinda freaky. I like this long free form edit. It gives the viewer a real sense of what the trail feels like as opposed to the ultra edited versions. I could watch people riding Downieville all day.
There is something really hypnotic about watching POV trail riding.
my whole body follows with the bike when im really conentratade on the povs lmao!
Nice video, I start my recovery from COVID I’m still quarantined In my stationary bike I start riding 3 sets of 20 minutes in a very slowly way and I play your video while riding . I really enjoyed Thank you

Nice!
These are the types of MTB videos that I like watching 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love the tidbits of history and the stop sign warning.
This gets me geared up in the winter when things slow down AND it gears me up the rest of the year when I'm ready to rock the trails with a few idiots I surround myself with. Love it!
Haha love it!
Full length video are actually great for those who have never ridden a particular trail and want to view it all.

Did that trail end of September this year through Greg @ Downieville Outfittters. Would love to go back and do it again same time next year.
Was there Friday the day before B1KER camp. Rode it for the first time and blew my mind how great it is out there.

Hell Yeah! I was there a couple of days before you. The conditions were perfect. I'm hoping to get back up there in a couple of weeks, but it will be dusty by then. That bear siting was kinda freaky. Downieville is always a blast! I rode a couple weeks later and it was a bit dusty but not terrible!
I loved it! Thanks a lot for the whole video.
