I love Pete's full nerd laugh he gets sometimes. Cracks me up. Such an awesome dude! Truly just enjoys what he's doing all the time and it shows. Keep jiving Pete!!
Maybe this is not at all interesting for many people, but as a DIY´er always looking for easy solutions, I think if the easy way to recording guitar is building a tube preamp with a 1w power amp, driving a reactive load. And then recording the stuff and send it thru for instance Two Note WOS, EZ Mix, or a part of Guitar Rig or S-Gear, to get some cab simulation.
Kris here, hi! The Suhr only brings your power amp signal down to a line level. It's not an attenuator. If you connect a speaker to the Suhr speaker out, the whole signal will pass through to the cab. The Suhr is still not bypassed though, it still deliveres the line signal through the Line Out jack. Cheers!
We all heard the difference between the two.... Reactive load/resistance load. In my opinion it's an unfair comparison though, because the EQ of the amp is the same in both cases. Everyone knows that the same amp has a different tone when you plug it back to back in a different cab,or in this case in a different load. Next time I would like to see this comparison, with the EQ of the amp involved.
That would defeat the entire purpose of the comparison. The point here was not whether a resistive load could sound like a reactive load - it was specifically to show you the difference that it makes between only that variable. Changing the EQ of the amp between the two cases would make the entire comparison irrelevant.
On one hand, totally enjoy your reviews anywhere that said seems like you threw two notes aside for Suhr, without much explanation, which looks more like you are a talented commercial, vs actual user of gear..... sigh disillusioned

Pete, thanks for Suhr Reactive Load & Ace videos, I’ve got Suhr reactive Load , Suhr Ace, Freedman BeOd, Polara Reverb, all this into my Marshall silver jubilee 2555X
Great player, great guy!
So is the Suhr reactive load working as just an attenuator if you want or is that speaker out just a bypass ?
