Bose is about balanced bass as background fill for clear mids and highs. They don't drown out the rest of the music with excessive bass. I learned this 10+ years ago in my Mazda RX-8 with Bose sound system, which sounded amazing. Another thing they do, Bose doesn't want volume levels that go into the distortion range. Same was with my RX-8. I could turn the volume all the way to it's peak and it would still sound crystal clear. Bose is all about quality and, from what I've experienced, they always hit that mark.

Low quality headphones often have heavier bass to muffle the bad quality highs and mids while as higher quality ones may not. It also depends on the sound signature the company uses for their products. Audio will always be better when wired, no matter the company. Sounds like there is a lack of research and knowledge here. These are also not their high-end headphones and when earpads prevent exterior audio from being heard, it's noise isolation and not cancelation, again. lack of research.

Also, I use the Samsung Galaxy S8 & the volume has to be increased on both the phone & as well as the headphones. Otherwise you only get 75% volume. If you get an update on the S8, it re-sets the volume to 75%.
it's so weird because it varies from phone to phone, on my old P20 pro the volume controls are seperate whereas on my new one it directly controls the Bluetooth volume on my phone.
I've had mine for about 3 to 4 years, I had to replace them after 1 or 2 years due to one side completely stopping to work and now on my replaced pair the volume up button broke (the volume and especially pause/play controls feel quite bad and unresponsive even when not broken). Also I've noticed that after a few months of use the cushions bend inwards at the back of your ear which is EXTREMELY annoying and the cushion also has been compressed to the point where it hurts the area below my ears. The first two points might have been flukes, but that problem with the cushions are a problem with everyone of these. Aside from the good sound quality, I would absolutely not recommend them, if you plan on using them for more than a year.
If you want decent impact and more bass than anything even buy Sony’s MDR-ZX110s or some of their $40-ish MegaBass or whatever will get you that thump. Bose headphones tend to accentuate highs and mids, with a flatter bass response. Generally they have a good, wide sound stage for closed-back design, and comfort and portability is tops as well. You bought the wrong headphones, it’s not a matter of getting more sound out of cheaper headphones, it’s about getting different sound from different headphones, and you bought the wrong ones.

I agree with this review, as I had the same thoughts with this headphones. I am not satisfied with the sound AT ALL. it feels like it could deliver more. The Sony WH-1000XM3 is WAAAYY better.
My Bose headphones don't work.. I flicked the button and no green light. So I can't do anything but plug it into my laptop with plug in.. I can't do this with my iphones as they dont have a plug in section.
Good quality sound. Before I had a pair of Beats Headphones. I thought I would never see them again. But, anyway, I got them back. Tested both headphones. And I have the say that the Bose headphones were a lot better.
Bluetooth on these headphones - don't expect the great sound they produce compared to the "cable connected" option. Just something that Bluetooth lacks - regardless of what brand of what headphone it is installed in. Just too bad that the cable it comes with is rather flimsy and no aftermarket can be used.
Hi. I have those headphones too, and yup; they don’t have that much bass.. I really didn’t like them for that reason. It will be very cool if Bose can add a “bass equalizer “ like the candy crush headphones. 🤩
I strongly suggest the Sony MDR xb950n1 the extra bass feature is so awesome that the headphones fall of your ears figure of speech of course. Sincerely Kanoflare
Bass is disappointing, I'm already thinking about changing it for a WH1000X3 My says it's great but my ears are abnormal and I understand it, have been playing bass and guitar for around 20 years and listening to heavy metal and progressive bands, so if you are in a match with how I'm intending to use these headphones, just do not buy them.
2nd gen razer headsets are super comfy and have bass if you want/don't mind another "gaming" headset (sub $100 for analog, price fully depends on which one and when you buy them)
My Soundlink 2 headphones have a very subtle background static hiss (and bluetooth bleeping noises during pairing) ONLY WHEN CONNECTED WIRELESSLY VIA BLUETOOTH. You can only hear the hiss when music is very quiet or paused, but it's definitely there. Can you confirm if your Soundlink 2s suffer from the same problem please?
No, I can confirm i do NOT have the issue with mine that you have: I have both Bose Soundlink 2 on-ear AND around ear and neither of them produce what you described above.
I hear the hiss for a split second before the audio entirely turns off. Just after the audio is finished, the hiss will continue for a few seconds before finally stopping, altogether going quiet.
you shouldnt wear hat, sound leaks out noise leaks in, also reduces bass. And often times, heavy base = cheap sound quality. Philips SHP9500s + Vmoda BoomMic = best open back gaming headphones for under $100. I love it. Oh, but they're definitely not bass heavy.
I recommend the Razer Man o war $169.99 version gaming headset. It is totally worth the money and it it the best gaming headphones I have ever owned
if you knew anything about headphones you'd have known that wireless headphones get louder when they're plugged in before 3:08
I am watching with bose soundlink II and cannt understand, why you dont like it?
Eazy E
because he’s a bass head
Base sounds great not sure what he's going on about there
I love it how people disagree after he said it was his preference of bass and his opinion. Lol..people make the world go round.
Loop Doc
It’s because you can’t criticise headphones that are supposed to be flat and balanced for not having enough bass
Question, do these Bose soundlink headphones sound the same wired and over Bluetooth? A lot of wireless headphones these days rely on dsp's and sound better wireless than when you plug them in, they sound like absolute garbage. I'm wondering if Bose suffers the same thing
My Samsung phone is not comptible with my freshly bought headphones the sound is not clear, I'm very disappointed, I can only use them with my laptop :(
Is there any solution to fix this issue?
Great review. Honest and I own these and the bass is defo lower than I'd like for expensive headphones
Bluetooth on these headphones - don't expect the great sound they produce compared to the "cable connected" option. Just something that Bluetooth lacks - regardless of what brand of what headphone it is installed in. Just too bad that the cable it comes with is rather flimsy and no aftermarket can be used.
How does bass compare to quiet comfort
This is a year and 10 days late, but you can change the bass frequency and by how much using windows.
No shit
Hi.
I have those headphones too, and yup; they don’t have that much bass..
I really didn’t like them for that reason.
It will be very cool if Bose can add a “bass equalizer “ like the candy crush headphones. 🤩
Why would you even buy Bose if you like bass boosted headphones?
About the equalizer I agree with you, it would be awesome if the app implemented one
what wireless headphones do you like/prefer?
I just purchased the latest version for $225.00 off ebay, Love them! The Google assistant is super helpful with work/studies.
Sony MDR 950N1, you can get them for as low as 100€ on sale and they beat about everything to about 300€.
Why don't you connect the headphones to the smartphone's audio connector?
If you want boomy headphones, get some Beats
Simon Vuille nah jbls are WAY boomier, and stupidly bassy
I strongly suggest the Sony MDR xb950n1 the extra bass feature is so awesome that the headphones fall of your ears figure of speech of course.
Sincerely Kanoflare
This headphone seems fine to me.... 💪
How do they compare to the QC 25?Which are around the same price.
Soundlink sound better I think?
Nice Video with a little Mathematical mistake. 30% louder than iPhone makes it 69% louder than Pixel not 60% :d . Thanks for the comparisons you made.
Bass is disappointing, I'm already thinking about changing it for a WH1000X3
My says it's great but my ears are abnormal and I understand it, have been playing bass and guitar for around 20 years and listening to heavy metal and progressive bands, so if you are in a match with how I'm intending to use these headphones, just do not buy them.
if you want the bass go with beats or skullcandy (studio 2 wireless if you want wireless beats)
I've tried some pairs and the does
I can also hear the hiss, and I just got mine yesterday
I hear the hiss for a split second before the audio entirely turns off. Just after the audio is finished, the hiss will continue for a few seconds before finally stopping, altogether going quiet.
I have the qc25, gave away the qc15 you can’t go wrong with Bose m, cans, most of them.
How about an EQ app? I'll bet that will do it.
I also returned these not enough bass...get the Sony n950 they sound great but are heavy and bulky looking
This is not "fabric" they are made with alcantara.
Sound is perfectly balanced. Dunno why people need pumped bass.
What kind of watch are you wearing in the video?
Bro my hand takes up half of your laptop how do u game on that
A can’t take off the wire and doesn’t let me use it in Bluetooth mode
I have the same ones and I’m using them rn
I’m watching this video with the same headphones :)
suggest branded headphone with good bass under 100$
Skull candy skull crusher 1
You can get crusher 2s on sale for like 130
Wtf I had no idea bose had a sound link series, I only knew about the qc series
Bose sound link 2 is a great and fine experience!!!
Just Got them best headsets I ever heard owned love them your wrong
It’s hard to imagine these are from 2015!
why you don't like them???
What the differance between the Soundlink and the soundlink2? Does any one know?
I have the soundlink 2 and they are awesome
Seriously? I’m disappointed at your review...
So do they spy on you like Bose Quiet Comfort 35. I will stick to QC 25.
Who said those spy on you
If this is true the QC 25 aren't any better, but I really doubt that this is true
Would you buy this or the beats studio 3 Wireless
I still prefer Bose over beats. But that's me
you shouldnt wear hat, sound leaks out noise leaks in, also reduces bass.
And often times, heavy base = cheap sound quality. Many companies who can not get their prodcts sound good in upper voice, they add heavy bass to cover the poor sound quality. While, i am not a tech-musician, but i am a music major student in a conservaotry. trust my ears, this headphone sounds very good.
btw, pexial ?? you dont have a good android phone. Try flagship phone from Huawei or Xiaomi, they will blow your mind.
SUN JY
The Pixel isn’t bad, what?
These comments are hilarious. So many BOSE fans defending BOSE.
I LOVE my on ear ones! Cant find better for price!
I don't agree with this review. The more bass does not mean the better. These headphones are amazing and they are probably one of the best in the world for their price.
If u want bass, don’t expect them in Bluetooth headphones because it simply can’t. Btw, more base doesn’t equal better headphone....
Skull crushers
I wonder if the eq settings on the pixel were set.
Earpollution moguls not the new ones the ones with the radiation logo they are bass heavy with 50mm drivers and they are the most bass heavy headphones i have ever owned i have bought 8 pairs of headphones and they are my favorite even better then my bose and Sony's
I 100% agree with this review. Any suggestions on headphones with good bass delivery?
He's using a Pixel phone. Like reviewing a Ferrari with a Holden. I found that if you like BASS (which I do), I needed to add BASS enhancer to the music on my phone, then the music sounded BASSier. Also, I use the Samsung Galaxy S8 & the volume has to be increased on both the phone & as well as the headphones. Otherwise you only get 75% volume. If you get an update on the S8, it re-sets the volume to 75%.
