i like it! Question: what if you set the photos to raw or setup specific exposure on the DJI camera settings? would you still need to do the color correction at the end?
Ideally you would shoot manual and kept your settings the same, but in his example the sun was setting and the exposure was changing quickly which may have made it difficult to keep the photos all consistent.
Hey! Yes, definitely a possibility. Just like Aaron Blake pointed out though, this was shot right at golden hour and some there were some interesting exposure issues going on. Also, since some drones don't have the manual option, and for the sake of the tutorial , I felt that it would benefit more people if we showed it this way. Even if you have it set to manual exposure I would almost bet that you still have to do some color and exposure corrections afterwards anyway. Plus, it's never fun to take the easy way out, right? ;) Glad you liked it though! - Jonas
Hey! I have been thinking about this a lot too. Not sure how you would do it without some serious computer graphics but if we figure out a simpler (and cheaper) technique I can assure you that we will make a video about it! :)
Nice! Awesome tutorial, I can't wait to go out and try it. One last thing, what monitor are you using on the video? I've been looking for a ultra wide monitor to use with my MacBook Pro. thanks!
Can I ask, What program are you using to edit these images? And is there a free version for Windows around? I've got the images lined up ready to try dronception! Thanks for a great tutorial!
I use Adobe Photoshop. Not sure if there is a free version to do this in. You will need a program that allows you to work with multiple layers, fade edges of the layers and ideally with masks so you can work indestructibly (always to back to how something was), and then of course general color, contrast and exposure changes. You can create this effect with only two images but it won't be as gradual, and then it wouldn't require as much power from the software you're using. Anyway, I think Photoshop is the best I can think of for this but it does cost a bit of money. Good luck! - Jonas
Hey! Thanks. Ah, sorry, I can't remember what this song was called... I have no way of reconnecting this project at this point unfortunately but if you check the info text below the video you have links to where I get a lot of the music. I think it might have been from there. Good luck!
Haven't actually tried it but with these I feel that there are generally so many little manual tweaks that have to be done that I don't even bother trying out any automated stitching. If you get int working and looking good please let me know! Cheers, Jonas
well explained but I am pretty sure the final result depends on the skills on anyone but COOL lesson... Thanks for the time you took to make this vid buddy...!!
I tried this (didnt see this video) and failed a bunch xD My question is, after seeing your demonstration with the lines, should I focus on somethin at the far back? Lets say Theres an intersection, should that always be on the top of my photo (back or whatever)? so like, first photo intersection is in the far back (top of photo). second shot still far back (top) but further up and closer, and so on until last shot where the intersection would be on the top of my photo but camera pointing straight down. I usually get photo stuff but this perspective bending is messing with my braind xD Perhaps I should try an easier target this time as I did a pretty complex bridge last time with lots of stuff pointing up and shiz
Like I told Daniel in another comment, with these I just feel that there are so many manual tweaks and adjustments that have to be done that I don't even try automated stitching. but again, if you figure it out, let me know!
Or you can try use 5 drones (collaborate with other drone user) & position them at the specific angles shoot the videos then stitch it together & voila you get a better result then a still image.
Hey Kody, the song is from the Artlist stock music library. Check out the link in the video description. If you sign up for a subscription using our link you're supposed to get two extra months for free!
I finally got round to watching this! I'm wondering if the Photoshop "Edit > Auto-Blend Layers" function could have saved some time on the transitions? Obviously with the warping and perspective adjustments that would be done by eye. :-) Really fun, can't wait to get a drone to play with such ideas! Keep up the great work!
haha, yeah, makes it a bit difficult without a drone I guess. Although, I was thinking of trying to make a mini version of it with that astronaut and the toys I laid out for the demonstration and using a normal DSLR. I am sure you can give that a try. Would be fun to see if it works! - Jonas
There are many different types of pine forests. This Long-leafed Pine that used to cover a lot of the south is pretty cool with a lot of other plants and animals dependent on it. If this is the type of pine you have around your place it sounds like an awesome place to live! :)
Thanks! I am not going to claim being the first to do this. I saw photos others had made and adopted a workflow that I thought worked out well. Glad you liked it!
Can only imagine how pissed Aydin Buyuktas would be now that so many people are copying his idea. The curse of having original work and sharing it on the internet.
I took a pic like this and showed my grandmother. She said " that's the exact road she use to walk down to go to school every more as a little girl smh.
Yeah! It's fun but even if it feels like you would have a lot of room for two of them I couldn't tell you how many times over this week we almost crashed in mid air... There are some close calls on camera. :)
I did hear that later. I definitely don't claim to be the first doing this. Not at all. It is an awesome technique and big cred to the person who came up with the idea. I played around with a good way of processing the images afterwards though and thought I came up with a pretty neat and simple way to show others how to do it. But thanks for pointing this out.

I was searching for a similar tutorial about 6 months and here I finally found it!!!
Never expected the best explanation of this process to come in the form of matchbox cars and an astronaut. Thank you!
Ha! Thanks! Sometimes the simple things tell the best stories. And never underestimate the power of toy astronauts!
Thank you very much, Can you kindly make a video, a video that the road ahead bends upward till the it touches your head or something like that ?
That's the best technique I've seen for it so far. Nice one.
So happy to hear that! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing! Awesome tutorial. Excited to try it.
Thank you!
NICE.
Love it!! Going to give this a try!!!
Looks easy, great tutorial! I will try this in the weekend. Thanks mate 👍👌
I love this.. super inspirational to get creative with the drone
Thanks!
Luv it ! I have to try it on my next car abstract photoshoot
Thanks for the video it was really informative. Can’t wait to try it.
Really thanks bro..
For sharing ideas in simple way
Anytime! Thanks for commenting!
Hello!! Great video!!! Any chance you could make a video on how to use this trick in video?
Could that be possible?
Greetings from Greece!!
Hey! I have been thinking about this a lot too. Not sure how you would do it without some serious computer graphics but if we figure out a simpler (and cheaper) technique I can assure you that we will make a video about it! :)
Maybe if take 5 takes as the photos and do the editing just like he did maybe it can work, ill try it
Nice! Awesome tutorial, I can't wait to go out and try it. One last thing, what monitor are you using on the video? I've been looking for a ultra wide monitor to use with my MacBook Pro. thanks!
This is very cool, Rob and Jonas! I must try it.
Yes, give it a try! Surprisingly simple actually! Thanks
Amazing video! Would you be able to add the image files so we can follow along with the editing process!?
Hey! That is actually a really good idea. I would feel ok with sharing these images. Rob and I will chat about if we can make this happen. Thanks!
Wow very cool technique, thanks for sharing this!!!
Thanks! Anytime! We try to share all the cool techniques we pick up! :)
Very helpful tutorials.. Thanks dude!
Nice tutorial.. Love this one. Awesome scenery by the bridge.. 👍
I can't add my another pictures like you at 3:14. How can I add another 4 picture as a layer?
Did you managed to do it? Because I'm lost in this step too.
such a cool effect - thanks for sharing!
Anytime! Thanks!
Love it. What song was playing?
Hey Ronald. I used music from the Artlist.io library. Check out the link in the video description. Tonnes of awesome music there.
Soooo sick!!!
Thanks!
What photo editor do you use
Can I ask, What program are you using to edit these images? And is there a free version for Windows around? I've got the images lined up ready to try dronception! Thanks for a great tutorial!

Amazing! Question: What did you use software did you use?
Thanks! Everything is done in Adobe Photoshop CC.
Thanks!!! I really love this toutorial!!! I can’t wait to try!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Very useful tutorial, I have one question, Which program you used to edit that foto?
Hey! All done in Adobe Photoshop CC. Good luck!
Really cool tutorial - thank you 👍🏻
Thank you!
Great video! Very useful
Awesome! Thanks!

Thanks! :)
What did you use do edit it?
What is the song at 2:00 ? I LOVE THE SOUND
Hey! Thanks. Ah, sorry, I can't remember what this song was called... I have no way of reconnecting this project at this point unfortunately but if you check the info text below the video you have links to where I get a lot of the music. I think it might have been from there. Good luck!

Anytime! Thanks!
Awesome - good job and thank you.
Wow, that's awesome. I'll try out one

Sweet tutorial guys! Love this one :D
Cheers Mike! Try it out, it's really cool and surprisingly simple!
Good job
One of the best clear and crisp tutorials. Thanks mate.
Awesome!
Did you try to stitch with autopano?
Haven't actually tried it but with these I feel that there are generally so many little manual tweaks that have to be done that I don't even bother trying out any automated stitching. If you get int working and looking good please let me know! Cheers, Jonas
well explained but I am pretty sure the final result depends on the skills on anyone but COOL lesson... Thanks for the time you took to make this vid buddy...!!
Is there any apps that can do the same in an Android phone?
Awesome! I can't wait to test it!
Yes! It is a lot of fun and really easy. Good luck!
I tried this (didnt see this video) and failed a bunch xD

awesome video
How to make this in a video in after effects?
Don't you think it would work with the software "Image Composite Editor"? Connecting the images automatically
I have a silly question.... is there a way to do this in reverse? Where the road bends the other way? Thank you :)
What song is that starting at the 2 minute mark!?
Hey Kody, the song is from the Artlist stock music library. Check out the link in the video description. If you sign up for a subscription using our link you're supposed to get two extra months for free!
Wondering the same!! That synth is naassssttyyyy
dope! gotta try this!
Color correction??
Hey I really enjoy your page ☺ Keep it up!
Awesome! Thanks!
Great tutorial👍🏻
Thank you!
i can't transform when you modify the dirt road, i can't warp him
Awesone !
good info video
so nice video!!! seems easy to do =)
Yes, it really isn't hard at all. Give it a try! Thanks!
mavic air 2 will have this automatic shooting mode. hope :)))
Sorry it won't, im from the future 😁
Great and fun idea.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Cool beans, nice tut. :)
Think cars could give it an extra dynamic, but other than that, sweet video dOOd
What an awesome idea 😁📸
I know right!? I was super impressed first time I saw it too and just had to give it a go. Surprisingly simple process.
Thanks bro 🔥🔥
You are fkng awsome bro
Have you tried creating droneception pictures using photoshop elements instead of photoshop???
I have not. I am so used to Photoshop that I never actually use Elements. If you try it out let me know how it goes.
Great!
:) Thanks!
I wonder. Maybe a tad... I'll try that next time
Amazing trick, I wish I had a drone to do it...
haha, yeah, makes it a bit difficult without a drone I guess. Although, I was thinking of trying to make a mini version of it with that astronaut and the toys I laid out for the demonstration and using a normal DSLR. I am sure you can give that a try. Would be fun to see if it works! - Jonas
감사합니다 형님
The only ecosystem around me from 100 miles in every direction is Pine Forests what you talking about about
There are many different types of pine forests. This Long-leafed Pine that used to cover a lot of the south is pretty cool with a lot of other plants and animals dependent on it. If this is the type of pine you have around your place it sounds like an awesome place to live! :)
Hey Jonas!!! Good to c yall.😃
:)Hey! Thanks.
thank you for All
Thank you!
3000th like!
very cool stuff, nice video as always :)
Thanks Floris! :)
Can I ask some extra drone?
That's really f$ckin cool! How in the hell did you figure that out?
Thanks! I am not going to claim being the first to do this. I saw photos others had made and adopted a workflow that I thought worked out well. Glad you liked it!
Can only imagine how pissed Aydin Buyuktas would be now that so many people are copying his idea. The curse of having original work and sharing it on the internet.
The more people copy the idea more people will thx him for having the idea
I took a pic like this and showed my grandmother. She said " that's the exact road she use to walk down to go to school every more as a little girl smh.
Hey interesting video and know know how to do it :)
Thank you! Give it a go, it is really fun!
like your explanation Man.... thank You. October 11, 2019
The thumbnail looks like that episode of spongebob with the vertical road
haha. Need to brush up on my Spongbob knowledge.
Rob looks like Taika Waitit tho hehe
ha! I had to look up who that was but I can definitely see the resemblance now! Funny.
Filming a drone with a drone
Yeah! It's fun but even if it feels like you would have a lot of room for two of them I couldn't tell you how many times over this week we almost crashed in mid air... There are some close calls on camera. :)
Ye its really hard to tell if you are gonna crash into something or not with looking on the screen. But I liked the video, keep it up :D
untidy
so much work for such a bad final image.
*Rock Bottom*
this idea originally belongs to Aydın Büyüktaş... search google about "Flatland - Aydın Büyüktaş"
I did hear that later. I definitely don't claim to be the first doing this. Not at all. It is an awesome technique and big cred to the person who came up with the idea. Looks a bit warped
I am willing to agree with you... :)
