Attention to the top of the turret. There is no hatch and it is very flat, indicating that it is an unmanned turret. The infantry squad accompanying the vehicle should have corresponding long-range fire reconnaissance methods, such as carrying a portable drone, etc., which can be launched into the air for real-time surveillance. The enemy situation ahead and maintain information communication with the new tank.
the pace at which china is evolving is absolut crazy
Very fast, across multiple domains.
is it just me or is every new IFV just the Stryker with a different turret?
@@10aerkhembileg84 Honestly, for me, the American Stryker is the most different 8x8 today in terms of design, this Chinese one is more similar to European models like the Boxer, Piranha and Patria
Assuming the vehicles aren't astroturf, especially given the poor performance of other Chinese-made vehicles used in Ukraine.
@@lukasalves2161 It's also a lot older, given that it's based on the US/Canadian LAV III, which in turn is based on the American LAV II built in the early 1980s.
Great analysis!
That autocannon looks very different to the russian 2A42/2A72, could it be a newly designed gun?
Highly likely.
Yes, It is a external power source chain cannon, not 2A72 anymore.
Confirmed by Chinese media, it's a new design
Reminds russian wheeled IFV Bumerang
Can you cover the pf-98
This video is actually genuinely underated and damm and this is actually the actual real China that the actual American and British BBC propaganda mainstream media actually don't show you is actually really like and actually capable of actually doing and damm and this channel is actually genuinely underated.
If you havent done one yet, could you do a capability brief on JORN?
I haven't covered JORN yet. I know something about it. I'll give it some thought.
@@Strategy_Analysis sounds good! If you don't want to go so much into depth on JORN specifically, a video on the state of Australian ISR or EW with the mc-55 soon to join would be very interesting too
@@hhall1932 Yes, some very significant developments here. I am looking at covering them.
Any news on the Fujian's Sea trials?
Excellent question. I will have something on this out soon.
Nothing good except for the catapult trials but no news there either.
@@rickjames18 There is no need to rush? We have been waiting for decades already. So, a few more months is nothing. It's better to make sure that all systems are go before heading out.
@@namelesswarrior4760 The problem is that it was rushed. That was an issue that many were very vocal about until silence. The power plant issues and catapult all work against the the carrier until a nuclear sulution is found.
@@rickjames18i don't quite agree with the claim about "nuclear" solution as USN own report say that nuclear power did not bring much to the table, the limiting factor is less about the carrier's power and more limited by the airwing logistic cost. even if you use a nuclear reactor, it still cannot provide enough power for EMALS. the ford class still need capitators and flywheel to store the power... nuclear power does not make the system any more simple.
Honestly, it looks better than the now mostly defunct Stryker series.
Better? I wouldn't go that far but it looks ok. I mean, it looks like every other western IFV design. I was hoping to see China come up with something new, some new look like the Soviets during the cold war. They always had different looking and designed gear but that isn't the case with China for the most part.
@@rickjames18 this is the learning and experensing and testing era for PLA, give it 10 or 20 more years, they will have their own chrecrestics and styles, for now, its just to design based on reliabe weapon systems out there. after all, these are weapons for war, they are designed to kill people effectively, not art pieces, effectiveness and reliability is the most important thing
@@liran547
I would argue the opposite. The Soviets developed those unique pieces of equipment during the early days of the technology and have simply kept with them due to inertia and cost.
They are also trying to introduce a generic wheeled IFV(the Bumerang) but they simply can't afford to so they keep using their older and cheaper designs.
As China is the second largest economy on Earth it does not have that issue and can develop more expensive and more modern equipment that is more in line with current trends.
@@liran547 You don't need styles and characteristics. Only laws of physics and warfare. That's what matters
@@dicecorporation by style i meant the way a country conduct warfare, no countries have the same way of approching war, peace
The trim vane at the front and props at the back, eiher side of the rear door, supports the suspected amphibious capability.
Oh yes, its absolutely amphibous capable.
does it cost more to produce?
Good question. Possibly so, given the increased level of automation.
I can't wait for it to be added to War Thunder.
I'm sure it won't be long.

New IFV is definitely improvement over olde IFV though can’t see comms or IED or EW devices. I also wonder how effective if hits IED? The IFV with main gun turret would effect fire power but clip you show internally, all that blast n gun powder discharge wouldn’t be good for turret personal.
As I mentioned in the briefing, it appears in "clean configuration", with more to be added to the turret roof.
probably why they deleted the side door which would be a point of weakness against IED. IED force simplify design that give better protection. but I am not sure about their automated turret. Singapore was an early adopter of auto turret, and it has a huge number of camera on the turret to provide 360 coverage, I don't see as many sensor on the chinese design... but it fairly cheap to change the turret especially since camera are rather small devices with little weight so it not really a major issue, I expect to see a version 2 turret in the future with more electronic. it more of an issue inside than out, since you will need alot more screen for the crew to take advantage of the additional cameras.
Some electronics are not done in the production images. They do show up in completed images.
@@Gongolongo Looking forward to seeing them, thanks.
They need drone launchers and a new position for someone in the IFV to control the drones, a drone operation seat.
Cheap civilian drones had disrupted warfare forever. Most armored vehicles are more vulnerable from above, and that gives less legit military force to attack from above.
And guess who has the most drones in the entire world
And guess who makes most of the drones in the entire world
Armored vehicles in Ukraine are vulnerable from above, but not much from civilian drones, but mostly from enemy artillery.
@@Gridlocked Drones work great as artillery spotters!
All you have to do is look at how many new designs they are producing. if they found a good design they'd have focused on it. As often as they produce new stuff I would say they haven't.
The production numbers of the zbl08 is 6000+, for reference only around 4900 of the stryker got off of production line. I'd say they definitely got their money's worth out of the older 08 design.
@@dingo4079 and the stryker ended up being a flop that's why we're replacing it. Something along those lines seems to happen a lot in the Chinese military.

is The Stryker dragoon amphibious?
It's a box with wheels and an autocannon.
If you don't have an AT Rocket or ATGM and you're a foot slogger in the infantry you'll probably have a bad time.
If you're in the Armored forces and you're in an IFV you'll probably win if you manage to get the first shot off or you get him in the side with your autocannon.
If you're in the Armored forces but in a tank be sure to pop it like any other light-skinned vehicle that's armed with ATGMs and then deploy smoke in case he has friends or reverse back into cover. Fire and Maneuver is the name of the game people.
I know lots of people like to see every new Tank, IFV, APC, or what not as a revolution, but more often nowadays they're iterative more than anything else. It's like a LAV-25 if they listened to the Gunny and strapped TOWs on it. Just treat it like you would any other vehicle, if you shoot it enough it will die.
Long and short answer is NO.

While I respect your efforts mate most of the channel is technical observations regarding various weapons systems. The PLA's IFV's do not really matter. Would love to see some strategic analysis. Which South East Asian countries do you think are likely to go neutral and which are likely to change sides? Will Indonesia support the PLA when Beijing starts flexing her muscle in this part of the world?
Thanks for the comment.
The initial thinking for this channel was for a.mix between geo-strategic issues and capability developments. Unfortunately, the broader issues I've talked about haven't got many views. So I have had to do less.on them. This will change very soon.
Southeast Asia is an extremely important topic. I have lived there and engaged with officials from there. I will have a number
@@Strategy_Analysis Perhaps analysis on battles and operations in current war zones is another option. Plenty going on in Ukraine and Gaza at the moment.
I don't create content but I can appreciate its not an easy endeavour. Your videos on geopolitics and grand strategy might not have gained much traction in the past but it doesn't mean they can't gain traction in the future. A longer commentary can get away with less effort in regards to visuals. potentially saving you time. Its frustrating because I feel like the channel has the potential to blow up. Quick answer my guess is NO.
Too bad the Ukrainians won't put the M1 Abrams they got onto the front lines of fighting. They don't want to see how well those M1s do against the latest gen of Russian ATGMs, suicide drones and even RPG's from the 1970's. Then this page could do a clip on "US Abrams: IS IT ANY GOOD?"
Are you suggesting that Ukraine purposefully misuse the assets it's been given? what is this comment even saying.

China New IFV should be better than Taiwan home-made CM-32 Armoured Vehicle. Taiwan CM-32 is a copycat of
Timoney (armoured personnel carrier) and now Timoney has IP and legal issue against Taiwan Government now.
The CM-32 Yunpao ("Clouded Leopard") is an eight-wheeled, modular armored vehicle serving with the land forces of Taiwan. The vehicle is based on the preceding Taiwanese Army CM-31 six-wheeled armored vehicle appearing in the 1990s. This vehicle itself originated through the Irish Timoney Technology Limited concern with license production handled in Taiwan.
Does it need to be good if they produce a million of them?
Anything PLA has produced is always racked with embezzlement, corner cutting and cheap, very cheap construction practices. Take for instance, the PLA MBT that went to compete in military exercises in Russia. Tank had a road wheel just flat fall off LOL. CCP/PLA is over rated.
а чё он так похож на наш бумеранг??
Pretty similar in function, absolutely different in design. But the back door design might base on the same theory and purpose.
Скорее бумеранг похож на zbl-19. Zbl-19 - это улучшенная версия zbl-08, которая ещё начала разрабатываться с начала 2000-х годов.

China's new IFV is powerful than russia's wheeled IFV.
Russian vehicles now are based or modified on the actual XXI century war experience.
NATO bases their entire doctrine on their invasions against AK-47 peasants and poor last century armies.
