- WPVI-TV 6 Philadelphia - Captain Noah - 1986.
Popular Philadelphia Kids show from 1969 to 1996
In the 1950s through the 1970s, local TV kids shows were common across the country. From Wonderama, Bozo, Dusty's Treehouse, Lorenzo, Marlo & The Magic Movie Machine & Gene London's Cartoon Corners, these shows were popular with children. This recording features a show that was popular in Philly, and also ran in Allentown & Walks-Barre PA. Captain Noah & his Magical Ark. Captain Noah ran cartoons, told stories, had guests, did crafts, and sang songs. He was a pastor when he had an idea for a kids show in the 1960s, featuring Noah's ark & all the animals. The show started in 1969, and ran until 1994! This episode comes from one of his final shows on WPVI-TV 6 Philadelphia.

One of You Tube's oldest RADIO AIRCHECK MUSEUM with a NEW VIDEO posted daily at 3PM EST.
After over 40 years working on the radio, I have recorded lots of radio airchecks, and many from my friends as well.
You'll find audio of many radio personalities who have passed away. Lots radio recordings from the 1940s, through the 2010.
We also talk about radio broadcasting. If you happen to have classic airchecks, maybe even of yourself on the air, we'd love to share it here!
We also share videos about Travel & Cruising. I share tips on how I travel cheaply, so you can do it also! Find me on Facebook: / ellisairchecks
He was the nicest guy. Met him in the early 80s at a diner in Cinnaminson (not far from where he lived). I was very nervous to say hello, but he was so welcoming and gracious. When I asked for his autograph, he drew a little ark and wrote "Smooth Sailing Chuck" over it and signed it underneath. It was one of my many prized possessions for year.
I sent many pictures to Captain Noah as a child! Wonderful memories ❤
Send your pictures to dear old Capt. Noah, send today, send right away...
@@EllisFeaster Any child of Philadelphia of a certain age can sing that song from memory. I used to be firefighter and I would drive the other guys crazy by singing out, "Send your pictures!" I would get yelled at all the time for getting the song stuck in other people's heads. Just like you just did to me.🤣🤣
@@richardgazinia5482 It’s been stuck in my head for decades!
I used to watch this show every Saturday morning after Chief Halftown show 😊😊
Boy, that's very rare that a local American independent television had a kids TV show in the '80s! Here in L.A., KCOP Ch. 13 had the very last kids show that I grew up in: Skip & Woofer, which was on the air from September of 1972 yo January 4, 1975. 😁😁😁😁😁
WPVI in Philadelphia was and is owned by ABC. WPVI like WABC in NY and KABC in LA along with at least the ABC affiliate in Chicago were owned by Capital Cities TV when this episode aired. Philadelphia had a bunch of local kids TV hosts when I was a kid in the 1970s but Captain Noah outlasted them all. There is a great clip of Charles Barkley appearing on Capt. Noah late in the 80s or early 90s kicking around somewhere on UA-cam.
Such a simpler time
What happened to the commercials? Also this is not in the proper frame rate despite being encoded in 60fps, your intro and the scroll at the very end are in the right frame rate but the analog video clearly isn’t.
Thank you for posting. Do you have any more episodes of Captain Noah?
Yes. I have posted 2 others. One from 1994, and one from 1971.
@EllisFeaster Thank you. Hopefully there are more to come.
