We flip a lot of stuff on our channel but it turns out the UA-cam channel itself is our biggest side hustle! We really feel that there is a huge opportunity with UA-cam to not only make money on the side, but to turn it into a full-time income. We wanted to share it with you in hopes that it inspires you to start your own channel or to keep posting on your current one! HOW WE MAKE MONEY ON UA-cam:
There are a lot of ways to make money with a UA-cam channel, but today we are just going to cover the ones we have used and share how much we have made from each of them.
Adsense: Adsense is the money we earn from showing ads on our videos. The amount earned varies greatly from month-to-month because it is dependent on views and/or the algorithm.
Brand Deals: This is when a company will pay us to talk about their product or service for a portion of our video.
User Generated Content: This is a newer concept, but it is when a brand will approach a creator and hire them to create exclusive content for the brand. In a way, the creator is becoming the face of the brand. This saves companies from having to spend a fortune on an entire video production company.
eBook - This was another new source of income for us this year. Selling products and services are another great way to make money on UA-cam. We hope to do this more in the future.
Affiliate Marketing: These are the links you find in the description to some of the products we use. When you click on these links and buy the product we receive a small commission.
Remember our first year was making videos was for free so you really can't do it for the money. You have to have a passion for not just filmmaking but the subject matter of your videos as well. We believe in working towards UA-cam because it’s growable/scalable. Our previous jobs have always been limited by the amount of hours in a day. With UA-cam you can make money while you sleep. We can't believe that our UA-cam salary ended up being over 6 figures this past year!
There are a lot of other ways to make money on UA-cam that we have not utilized yet. These include superchat, superthanks, and memberships/Patreon. We plan to start using some more of these this next year!
What skills do you need to get started?
All you really NEED is a phone and topic you are passionate about. Everyone has a unique perspective that they can bring. If you don’t feel like you have a passion, your channel could be about “finding your passion”!
