Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 4-5 minutes. 5. Remove lid and use a spatula to carefully turn over each pancake. Add the remaining 1tbsp of water to the pan and cook and replace the lid. Cook for 5 minutes. 6. Place pancakes on a plate and add desired topping (optional).
@@briannaconsiglio134 I tried but I couldn't tell if the pan was the right temperature as I do not have that thing they are using in the video. So mine didn't turn out like this at all. Also, I do not recommend using a large pan. It made my pancakes burnt on one half of one side (the side closer to the eye on the stove) and still doughy on the other. I think it would have cooked more evenly if I had used a small/medium size one instead.

For anyone wondering; I have made these before and they’re super good :) I am not too experienced (I will bake for special occasions, maybe once every 1-2 months or so!) and these came out well. Make sure you develop enough gluten when mixing the flour into the egg yolks so the pancakes turn out more stable, and add a pinch of cream of tartar to the egg whites if possible (Also makes it more stable)
@@cuffsflop7551 The cream of tartar helps make your meringue more stable so that it holds its shape when exposed to heat i.e. when it's cooked. It's definitely not necessary in this recipe though so you really don't need it if you don't have it unless you're planning on making this recipe or others involving whipping egg whites a lot.
For anyone thinking about making this: I made it several times now and it is absolutely delicious!!!! I highly recommend. Few tips: mix the egg whites very thoroughly!!! You want them to be super super stiff in onder to achieve that fluffy thick pancake. Also, when you are mixing the egg yolk mixture with the beaten egg whites, try to mix it with a spatula as soon as you can, (first you will have to mix with a whisk because it is still thin) but if you mix it with a whisk too much it will make the batter thinner!! Anyway, super delicious, worth a try!

tried to make this for bfast while being stuck at home bc of the quarantine. i used brown sugar and cinnamon (instead of white sugar and vanilla extract bc we didn't have them at home 🥺) the batter didn't come out as thick as the one in the video, but for a first attempt, i think i was pretty successful! 👩🍳

I live in america and i used to have chickens and had eggs from them and their yolks weren't that orange either. Or do we modify road island reds (breed of chicken if you dont know) too.
Baygurl it’s based on the chickens diet, I used to visit my dads friends farm and some chickens ate corn and others had barley. The plants pigment transfers in a way.
Out of all the recipes I’ve tried, this one and Michael Lim’s is the one I’ve had most success with. However, I adjusted the sugar amount to make the ratios super easy to remember - 4:3:2:1 (sugar:flour:milk:oil) . It makes it super easy to remember especially for beginners. For those without a scale, use the same ratio but in tablespoons instead of grams eg. 4 tbs sugar, 3 tbs flour, 2 tbs milk, 1 tbs oil. I find the third egg white is really important to get that fluffy soufflé texture however if you don’t want to waste a third egg just for the white, you can just use 2 eggs but your pancake will be more like a sponge cake and not as light and fluffy. Still delicious, just not a soufflé pancake though. Hope this helps :)
*SOME TIPS* use the smallest pan you have, the one closest to the size of a pancake. Put one scoop first , let it cook for about 2-ish minutes then add another scoop on top.

@@barbierusso I think you have to make sure you don't overcook them. Depending on the stove you have I think you have to cook them less than 5 minutes on each side. Maybe 3-4 minutes and keep verify if are a little bit brown before flipping on the other side. And last but not least, keep trying and be optimistic, at some point you'll get the pancakes you always dreamed of 🤞
Yours looks so much better than other souffle pancakes! It seems fluffier and firmer than the usual goo/mousse made into a pancake shape which tastes nothing like a pancake.

Fakename Fakesurname when you mix the flour and egg yolk mixture, it should almost appear sticky-like, as if it’s a very liquify bread dough!

tried to make this for bfast while being stuck at home bc of the quarantine. i used brown sugar and cinnamon (instead of white sugar and vanilla extract bc we didn't have them at home 🥺) the batter didn't come out as thick as the one in the video, but for a first attempt, i think i was pretty successful! 👩🍳

Baygurl it’s based on the chickens diet, I used to visit my dads friends farm and some chickens ate corn and others had barley. The plants pigment transfers in a way.

Out of all the recipes I’ve tried, this one and Michael Lim’s is the one I’ve had most success with. However, I adjusted the sugar amount to make the ratios super easy to remember - 4:3:2:1 (sugar:flour:milk:oil) . It makes it super easy to remember especially for beginners. For those without a scale, use the same ratio but in tablespoons instead of grams eg. 4 tbs sugar, 3 tbs flour, 2 tbs milk, 1 tbs oil. I find the third egg white is really important to get that fluffy soufflé texture however if you don’t want to waste a third egg just for the white, you can just use 2 eggs but your pancake will be more like a sponge cake and not as light and fluffy. Still delicious, just not a soufflé pancake though. Hope this helps :)
*SOME TIPS*
use the smallest pan you have, the one closest to the size of a pancake.
Put one scoop first , let it cook for about 2-ish minutes then add another scoop on top.

@@barbierusso I think you have to make sure you don't overcook them. Depending on the stove you have I think you have to cook them less than 5 minutes on each side. Maybe 3-4 minutes and keep verify if are a little bit brown before flipping on the other side. And last but not least, keep trying and be optimistic, at some point you'll get the pancakes you always dreamed of 🤞

Yours looks so much better than other souffle pancakes! It seems fluffier and firmer than the usual goo/mousse made into a pancake shape which tastes nothing like a pancake.
