I’m not sure I agree with the close up gross out gags being specifically post-2010s. These sorts of things were incredibly common for nicktoons and Cartoon Network shows in the late 90s and early 20s. Hell, the first show that comes to mind is Ren and Stimpy, which came out in the early 90s!
That’s definitely true. But while I feel like I could pick out shows by name from the 90s that did that, I feel like the last ten years it’s been a modern cartoon trope. Thankfully it isn’t overbearing, just “of-the-time” in my opinion!
My view on this is that this reboot is overall not too bad. I would say around the same level as the Animaniacs reboot but maybe a little bit better. The reasoning is that even though Buster and Babs has an entire new relationship with each other and the original voice actors did not come back (which is kind of understandable), the designs were very good. For Animaniacs the voice actors did come back, but exclused most of the original cast. And the Warners were still siblings but Yakko’s and Dot’s personalities have completely changed and Wakko changed from the complex character he is into a simplified version. Something that really bothered me about the Animaniacs reboot were the over designed background characters and that is something that we don’t get in the Tiny Toons reboot. However I just feel bad for Ruegger that he didn’t get invited back to a show that he created for either shows. But if it weren’t for not inviting back Tom Ruegger I would rate the reboots of Animaniacs: 7/10 and TinyToons: 7.8/10.
As someone who binged watched the season months after it came out cause I was bored. I gotta say it was really good. I didn’t see the original although I did know the whole “main characters being a relationship” in the original which would bother people in the reboot. although if your willing to get past that and think that the show is it’s in own universe. I think it’s very good I enjoy the struggles they have to endure in College/university setting. I also really love how they brought back Looney Tunes from the Dark Age of Looney Tunes like with Merlin the Mouse or the Tiger. And with Merlin the Magic Mouse they didn’t just simply use him for fan service they actually gave him a part in the episode of him mentoring Babs into becoming a magician it was a really cool idea and smart for them to do. So yeah pretty good show. I enjoyed myself has some flaws. But honesty I enjoyed myself.
Just finished watching it. It has it's ups and downs. The animation is fine, I even like Shirley the Loon's new design. I got used to all the new voices except for Hamton, why does he sound like Truman Capote now? I thought the humor in it fell a bit flat overall, especially compared to the old show. They played it too safe with the jokes and it even got a bit sappy at times when part of what worked in Adventures was it almost seemed like they were sometimes trying to get angry letters from parents. I can live with the change in Buster and Babs' relationship although they missed an opportunity to have them dressed up as Luke and Leia for some reason at the time they made the reveal. I think the characters they nailed the best were Plucky and Dizzy. They changed Hamton's personality a bit and Babs just wasn't as savage as she used to be. No Elmyra at all was a bit of a let down.
I like the update to Shirley too. For me, the voices were the biggest change I had to get used to, but I like the comedy. It’s not the same as the original Tiny Toons, but I’d rather have them succeed or fail with their own spin than try and copy what the original did. Elmyra was in the show’s intro, so I’m hoping we’ll get to see her soon!
I say it's fair to see these two shows as different products of their time, and being able to enjoy both for their merits. Forgot how the original show was mean-spirited but that's kind of the deal when old looney tune shows had characters constantly trying to one-up each other. That said, I don't think I really like the close-up gross-out style of humor...
I watched the reboot, the animation is good, so is the voice acting, but I can't say I agree about it being done right, and it felt less funny to me, I gotten loads of laughs from the animaniacs reboot than looniversity, my complaint is that characters like Calamity Coyote, little beeper, Furrball, Fowlmouth Etc didn't get enough screentime, the original, they had gotten more screentime than that, what is the point of bringing back all the characters if they're just gonna be sidelined? It could've been better (and maybe it still can when season 2 comes, just maybe) so...what I'm saying is that tiny toon adventures is still better in my eyes!
I think Animaniacs had the benefit of being a more gag oriented show, and since the reboot was largely the same, it was a more seamless transition. With Looniversity trading a different different approach with more story-focused episodes, it's bound to cut more side characters and screen time. Having said that, the Montana Max episode gives me hope they'll successfully incorporate more characters in larger roles. We shall see!
I saw the wiki stated that Fifi La Fume in the reboot is considered French/Canadian hailing from Quebec, has her romantic personality being modified, her tail is smaller and she doesn't even release her foul odor no matter what. I guess it's okay. It's sad that Pepe Le Pew no longer makes a comeback...
I love Pepe, I hope he does reappear someday. Fifi was one of my favorites in the original Tiny Toons, I'll have to watch the rest of the season in hopes she has a larger role in some of the newer episodes!
Whenever a new version of a show or movie is made, or another addition to a continuing franchise that has long been dormant is being produced, I always ask myself what exactly the point is. In the 90s, when the original series came out, most animation was quantity over quality, cheap, kiddy, advertising garbage with little to no actual effort or value, then Tiny Toons came along to help break the mold(yes, I know that there were actually good cartoons of that era that preceded Tiny Toons, like Garfield & Friends). Tiny Toons was always trying to push boundaries, piss off the censors, and do things completely differently from how they were done for the past 20 years. All while paying homage to the similarly groundbreaking WB cartoons of the 1940s-50s. Meanwhile, the reboot instead opts for incredibly safe, clearly just made for kids humor, without any of the bite, satire, 4th wall breaking glory, or originality of the original. Which is understandable, considering how many shows do the wacky, crazy, 4th wall breaking style antics this franchise(as well as Looney Tunes)was known for, making the existence of the reboot even more pointless. While those cheap, low effort, incompetent, corporate advertising bullshit garbage baby shows that plagued the 80s still exist, there are just as many, if not more cartoons that actually have real time, passion, and effort put into them. Audiences were amazed with how risky Tiny Toons was, and once the shock wore off, the show was still good enough to hold people’s attention. Without the shock factor of the reboot doing something crazy or inventive, and the lack of an attempt by the (un)creative team to do anything fun or exciting, makes for a very dull experience. I could forgive all this if the show was good, but I honestly just found it to be boring and lame, with generic stories and weak characters. Before anyone says that I’m harshly comparing 2 completely different shows, just remember that fact that when a new addition to a franchise is created, comparisons to previously established iterations are inevitable, and should be expected by the creators, even if they’re not entirely accepting of it.
I've really enjoyed this version of Tiny Toon. I wouldn't call it a reboot but a revision. Like you stated earlier, the cast kept their original personalities but with different backgrounds. I only wish Babs comical side was used a little more. I like the idea that the Looney Tune cast having jobs. The use of Lola was a surprise. I hope they combine both personas from Space Jam and The Looney Tune Show. The LTS version is the side Lola tries to hide. I hope that Petunia Pig gets an appearance as well. I've notice that they dug up some obscure characters like Magic Mouse and Kool Kat. Please for God's sake, please reintroduce Pepe le Pew and Speedy Gonzales.
One episode won't make or break Lola for me, but I am hoping they end up giving her a bit more flavor. Montana Max's episode was one of my favorites of the first ten released, and makes me optimistic for how they'll handle the other returning characters. Fingers crossed!
HELL Yeah!!! This was surprisingly a fun reboot! Though it is different from the beloved original, it still has some hilarious worth watching and even rewatching with friends!❤
15:00 well that's a red flag. must be a "modern audience" thing. if looniversity was watched by people decades later they can tell exactly it's from the 2020s the "everyone is scared to offend" era.
Originally, I thought Plucky was going to be too intolerable at being too egotistical. Episode 8 completely changed my opinion of it. The third act crying scene showed me that he's not only overachieving to make himself feel special, he's doing it because his parents have high expectations and only sign him up for #1 campuses. If he doesn't get that treatment, they'll pull him out of the school and away from his new friends.
I saw the 1st episode just now. Nit like any one announced it was out. I knew it was coming. I didn't know it was out. As some one who saw the original when it was 1st on I would rate this as "clear differences but also clear similarities" If I consider this from the POV of some one who has never seen Tiny Toons but has seen other WB properties or has a general idea of what cartoons are I would say it its fun and full of energy. from the POV of some one who saw EVERY WB cartoon ever its FULL of things to see in the normally empty back grounds from the POV of some one who has never seen cartoons ever, you may be getting the feeling "there is a refence here" but not knowing said reference. As of One episode in I can not speak for how modern it is , how woke it is, how much it misses the mark, how much it does representation, how backwards it is etc But I have a mental check list of does and don'ts and frankly for a series that made changes to the voice cast compared to Animatics and there keep the original voice cast, Tiny Toons is already doing a better job. Still a little flavor of the 2020s but not nearly as bad as Animaniacs. The real test of the series will be how they handle Fifi La Fume, Montana Max, Elmyra Duff, Gogo Dodo, Fowl Mouth and any of the new characters. Those are the ones who can make or break the show for me.
More than the Buster/Babs sibling change or the art style, it’s the lack of focus on side characters that seems to be the biggest sticking point for most people that I’ve seen so far. We won’t get the 2 or 3 segment episodes presumably, but if we do get side characters having heavy interactions with the main cast (see the hilarious Montana Max episode), then hopefully that will satisfy that aspect people are missing!
I will say even though Lola seems like the cool bunny in the series I prefer this Persona over her Looney Tunes Show persona! There, she came off as a crazed, serial stalker, followed by having some unusual issues that'll pop up here and there! Some people may call that depth, but I say "Dude, what the hell happened to our Hotshot star from Space Jam?!"😂
It seems WB doesn’t know what they want to do with Lola’s character overall. She definitely has potential in this version, hopefully we’ll get to see more of her!
I only seen 1 or 2 episodes of the first season and I refused to watch the rest. I'll just stick with the golden 90's OG TTA from my childhood instead! The animaniacs reboot was not that great but at least it was faithful to the original. This is an insulting mess, That probably the OG voice actors want no part of.
I actually think that the show is great. The only thing what im confused about is why they made Buster and Babs siblings instead of friends/lovers. It kinda feels... Strange.
The choice did seem to be a bit out of left field, but thankfully, it doesn't do much to change the quality of the show. I agree it's very fun and can't wait to see what else they have in store!
gotta disagree the original was light years better imo for onc the writing I think was more clever and to be honest the world wasn't as PC then as it is now so it could kind of just be wheras now you really gotta watch what you say which can negatively effect a show such as this.........I also think the voice acting talent back then was far superior for pretty much all of the characters.........this just feels like a hipsters take and its just not for me I tried to give it a chance but nah its not the worst reboot but I was big fan of the original TT and its not it for me at all.....with the Babs/Buster change and honestly I miss how Babs used to be definitely more mischievous and more of an edge then...I kinda wish companies and studios would let classics be classics and stop with the reboots but its doubtful it will happen....not a fan of the animation either it looks worse to me then the early 1990s felt like more attention to detail was applied then as well.
I get some will like this show more than others, while others are fully going to dislike or even hate it. It's definitely not for everybody, nor is it for me either. I can not get past certain things they've changed or understand it. I'm also not the shows target audience, and that's ok. But I bet you with certain changes, new fans that haven't watched that. old stuff will be shocked or confused at the several changes that's happened.
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose Well... no. "Perfect" has a very specific meaning. Steven Spielberg has the excuse of being a corporate shill who doesn't actually believe anything he says, and _he_ only said it was better, or "the best version." It's grammatically incorrect, when there's only two versions, but whatever. You, on the other hand, are lying for clicks; then can't even commit to pretending the show is "perfect." You openly admit its flaws... well, _some_ of them, you're in denial about invalidating the single most recurring joke in the series because whatsherface wanted to tell "a sibling story." Like Babs didn't already have a hundred siblings in the original. You point out how disappointing making Lola a Mary Sue was, they've had over 20 years to flesh out her character, an nailed it in the Looney Tunes Show... then just sorta forgot. Of course, it's pointless talking to you. Hampton is unrecognizable, he's not a neat freak anymore... which was like his _entire_ shtick, they gave him a weird accent... which you think is identical to his original voice it sounds nothing like. Or maybe you just let an AI write your script... that would make the most sense.
No show is perfect, it feels like Adventures got some things right and wrong, Looniversity also is a mixed bag. The specials and vacation movie of the original run were fantastic and the reboot may fail to live up that standard.
Totally fair! I've been meaning to go back and finish watching the rest of the episodes they've released. Maybe my opinion will change one way or the other!
The reboot sucks hands-down! They ruined buster and babs by making them brother and sister so now they can’t do the no relation joke how are they brother and sister all of a sudden ? etc the animation, kind of sucks too they should’ve went back and used the original animation from the original tiny tunes and what happened to elmyra and Montana max ?
None at all! I’m still trying to get the delivery among other things figured out. Got the newest video coming out on October 29th, hoping that’s a bit more natural for folks!
regarding video over all, it is well read. But perhaps a little TOO well read. It sounds like you are reading a script some one else wrote. It lacks the emption and passion of some one who feels strongly one way or an other. You feel more like a guide at a museum then a UA-cam host. You should lossen up and try to have some fun. Don't have to be over the top, just enjoy what you do.
I appreciate the suggestions! I’m still working on finding my voice, I was actually speeding through in my earlier videos, now I’m going a bit slower. I’m getting closer to that happy medium though, but I hope the content itself will suffice until I get the rest right!
Nope, its terrible. No jokes, turning the main characters into helpless co-dependent siblings, removing most of the main characters, no shorts. It's pure garbage
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose Subtlety is LOST on Today's Gen Z and Younger Millennials. I watched the Original Tiny Toons during its Original 1990-1993 Broadcast on Fox. I've been walking this earth for 4 decades now and can name ALL the problems with Looniversity within the first 5 minutes. If you can't and don't understand, then it shows the Great Generational gap. Pacing, Writing, Execution and Subtlety when it comes to Gags and their timing, alongside the Animation, Looniversity gets EVERY single thing WRONG what Tiny Toon Adventures got RIGHT 3 Decades ago.
Your other videos are better with a less girly ideas. This is political in nature and if you can not see it, it is ok. Thos is gross. it's spongebob's fault tbh.
Tiny toons adventures Lasted 3 seasons 100 episodes & 233 Shorts & 7 Is animation studios that have worked on the old show
Tiny toons acutally lasted 98 episodes
The best Lola Bunny ever was in The Loony Tunes Show! Man I miss that show, it was hilarious! Ended too soon!
My favorite Kristen Wiig role! And yes, that show was fantastic!

No Relation > Siblings
My headcanon is that this buster and babs are infact the grandchildren of the original buster and babs
yeaaaahhh, it gets really weird when you remember in the original show, they had a romantic relationship 😬
i thought it's only me who feels that looneyversity had a vibes of the tiny toons adventures combined with the looney tunes show lmao
The best of both worlds!
Honestly, it feels more like a combination of Tiny Toon Adventures and Looney Tunes Cartoons.
This had no reason to exist and would have been improved tremendously by not existing.

Warner Bros Animation made this, not Cartoon Network

I get some will like this show more than others, while others are fully going to dislike or even hate it. It's definitely not for everybody, nor is it for me either. I can not get past certain things they've changed or understand it. I'm also not the shows target audience, and that's ok. But I bet you with certain changes, new fans that haven't watched that. old stuff will be shocked or confused at the several changes that's happened.
42 more episodes? So this means Looniversity has already been green lit for seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5?! 19:32
Depending on how many episodes per season they're split into it appears to be the case!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGooseWhere did you hear that there would be a total of 52 episodes!?
This is a bastardization of the original.
I'll have to watch more but I liked what I saw so far!
No it isn’t
To each their own!
I love the show tho Furball talking normally feels very off to me , I also didn’t like how hamton stutters .
I still need to watch the rest of the episodes. I want to see which other characters they brought back!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose then I shall not spoil it , I only have watched part of season 2 . I enjoy the more college vibe the show brings .
@@TeamReArise Maybe I'll do a follow up video sometime!
No show is perfect, it feels like Adventures got some things right and wrong, Looniversity also is a mixed bag. The specials and vacation movie of the original run were fantastic and the reboot may fail to live up that standard.
I absolutely disagree with you Sir Goose.
Totally fair! I've been meaning to go back and finish watching the rest of the episodes they've released. Maybe my opinion will change one way or the other!
The reboot sucks hands-down! They ruined buster and babs by making them brother and sister so now they can’t do the no relation joke how are they brother and sister all of a sudden ? etc the animation, kind of sucks too they should’ve went back and used the original animation from the original tiny tunes and what happened to elmyra and Montana max ?
are you kidding me
this travesty is a pale imitation
I liked it, but I understand if it doesn't tickle your fancy!
Why does
He talk
Like this
Fair enough!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose Hey Pal! Just an observation, Love the content of the video and your opinion is laid out super well!
No
Harm
Done
I hope!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGooseStopping that unnatural pause after every 3-4 words might help
The only problems in my opinion are bland moments and "twins"
Hakuna matata Buster babs sweetie plucky & Hamton
Nope, its terrible. No jokes, turning the main characters into helpless co-dependent siblings, removing most of the main characters, no shorts.
It's pure garbage
I would be happy if Babs and Buster from the original had kids who are Babs and Buster from this show
I think boomerang done the right thing unlike the other 3 reboots
I hate this reboot as well as this the original show because they keep on forgetting it is based on Looney Tunes.
It was definitely a different style than the original Looney Tunes!
If babs and buster get new love interests, I hope they're likable
I hadn’t thought of that! I guess we shall see?
I have some ships, but I don’t want to sail into too deep waters just yet if you know what I mean
Umm....NO it isn't. Its a Horrible, Bastardized, Outdated Clone of Tiny Toon Adventures.
I liked it and am looking forward to seeing more, but I get that it’s not for everyone!
Listen. Tornado No. one ask for our opinion boi
This show was terrible.
@@briansweed589 The Pacing is Absolute Garbage.
Your other videos are better with a less girly ideas. This is political in nature and if you can not see it, it is ok. Thos is gross. Remakes are always a mistake and this one is confusing because this is why A.I. is being used and artist of everything getting angry because of this. I do not agree with you.
I don't think politics had something to do with this
Eh, no
Some folks like it, some folks don't!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose I suppose. Some folks enjoy the smell of fart also. Takes all sorts.
If something exists, someone somewhere enjoys it!
@@ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose Indeed. As you've made clear with your video.
The bunnies are not siblings. Babs is not black. Why recreate a show you never seen?
