Yup they did it in order to stop shipping between characters and this was added by the new showrunner despite the old show already showing those 02 as a established couple. It should also be noted that they are not the same Buster And Babs that we know.
It definitely is starting to look like a shameless cash grab relying on nane recognition 30+ years too late. Most of it's target demo doesn't even know what the original show is!
I, too, feel that Tiny Toons Looniversity is inferior to the original Tiny Toon Adventures series from 1990. Besides the obvious controversial change of making Babs and Buster Bunny, who were an unrelated couple in the original series, twin siblings, the closing credits lack the gag credits and end tags that the original series had. While a few episodes such as "Give Pizza a Chance" and "Extra, So Extra" have end tags, they were before the end credits sequence rather than after. I'm still watching Looniversity in the hopes that it'll get Warner Bros. to bring the original series to MAX and Konami to bring their Tiny Toons games to modern consoles in a compilation similar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, but I honestly don't see Looniversity lasting beyond the two seasons it has planned.
@FlyingDuckMan360 Yeah that was actually a running joke in the original series. Babs and Buster Bunny... not related LOL! They said this very often in the old show!🤗🤔🕵📺
I dont really like how babs and buster are siblings but i gotta say the dynamic between them will is just entertaining to watch, still dont like the change but i can get past it
01) It was confirmed about a few years ago that Elmyra would not be shown due to the fear of organizations like "PETA" giving backlash over animal abuse. Cree Summer was told this as well. 02) Babs And Buster were made twins due to the new showrunner wanting to end shipping. The second reason why was to establish a new universe. 03) Just like "Animaniacs". Tom Reugger was not given the call to come back. 04) This new reboot was originally made for "HBO Max" and then it was confirmed that "CN" would randomly show it when it could I believe during their preschool block since that's what they are doing now (if that's still going on. I recall they rebooted "Cailou" for that preschool black not after obtaining the rights, but also priemering the reboot after cancelling the original a few years apart. Not sure how the schedule is now. I do know "CN" likes to show "Family Matters" reruns which is so left field in my opinion and "CN Studios" is terminated. The new studio will ne held in "WB".)
Tf?? Caillou got a reboot? Please tell me he's no longer the world's biggest whiner. Or perhaps they've finally explained his baldness as he has cancer and it's the chemo that makes him so whiny. I'm not making fun of cancer; everyone has been affected by it either personally or through a loved one. A cancer storyline might actually elicit some empathy towards him and his overly permissive parents.
I personally feel like this the second time that Warner Bros screwed over Kath Soucie with reprising any of her characters, with the first, of course being Lola Bunny in Space Jam 2, and the third overall with getting a new voice actress to play Betty Deville in the Rugrats reboot.
I don't think this reboot is horrible, but it is incredibly boring and in a way that's kind of even worse. At least something bad is memorable in the sense it'll go down as something hated but something like this reboot is probably gonna be quickly forgotten about.
Good point, it's not exactly generating hype so I don't see it getting more than two seasons at best. Unless the second season performs incredibly well it feels too forgettable & unliked to keep going.
@@MarcMarioMaster Yes they did and it is quite good. Sung by the cast in character. Babs, Buster, Hampton, Plucky, Elmyra and Montana Max to name a few. 🤗👍👏📻
When I started watching this show, I died of boredom. I then, for whatever sickly twisted reason, continued watching. I died again in episode 9 when buster and his evil clone started twerking. Fun Fact: This show made me realize that I had multiple lives.
As someone who is on the halfway point on watching this show, I like it but I also do agree with you on a few points like some of the animation being choppy at times, the voice acting in here isn't anywhere as good as the original (tho granted I don't think it's terrible, but hearing some of the VA'ing for certain characters like Hampton or Plucky definitely threw me off.), and it does feel overly cheesey at times. Not to mention the lack of end card gags, creative title cards, and characters going onto their own adventures (I know you may have a gripe with the logistics of it but I personally like it). While the animation can be choppy (most notably on Calamity and other background characters), other times it's really good imo, there were some legitimately unexpected moments in the show the got me, the toonyball episode was the episode was the most creative and most true to the original series that I got so far, I liked the Montana Max episode and some of the bits of Buster trying his hardest not to get caught and panicking next to max while he's in love I found to be really amusing, and the Merlin episode was by far the most surprising to me so far: They took a character that was pretty much universally hated, and made me actually kind of like him, some of his animation is really good, he's pretty funny, ane he has a surprising alot of charm from him and I am curious to see what else they do from him. TLDR: The first couple of episodes I found barely passable that I didn't really like much, but episode 3 and on I found to be pretty good (while yes there were bits and pieces of those episodes i didn't like) they were all around good (imo), and was alot better of a show than what I was cautiously anticipating it to be for.
I would say it isn't bad if it was a show in the 2010s. Its really dated. there's an episode where Buster plays music from some kind of ipod instead of his phone. And even then its kind of mid. They're supposed to be in college but they don't tackle anything heavy. They all act as, well, kids. I compared it to an original episode in TTA, the one where they were trying to figure out who was farting in the cafeteria so they were blaming each other and that was hilarious. A simple episode but still entertaining compared to the lukewarm comedy of TTL.
I'm not entirely sure it is actually supposed to be college. I know it's structured like a college but I think it's more of a boarding school. College as a setting makes 0 sense for a kids show, even the original Acme Loo was presented as a grade school despite the name.
Acme loo (despite the name) was a high school. They had different class periods in different places, regular dances and a prom. They got jobs and were EXTREMELY hormonal. Like uncomfortably so, we'd see them driving... not things middle or elementary schoolers would be up to. the new one it's pretty clearly a college. They live in dorms, the school is on a huge campus with multiple buildings dedicated to various subjects, we get the loo Bru, a coffee shop where students can work should they choose, there's a rival school later, Shirley is an RA (resident assistant) whose job is to help students like babs in the first episode, Granny is the dean. Boarding schools don't have deans, they have head masters. For cartoons whose only goal is to be as silly as possible, high school and college are equally unrelatable to little kids, so it doesn't matter what age you make them as long as they're under 21. They just wanna laugh at the jokes. (Ignoring the question of WHY have a cartoon college AND high school. Like how many different ways can you drop an anvil or slip on a banana peel) But I'd guess aging them up slightly was to appeal to the nostalgic 30+ crowd that will watch for the nostalgia (like me) and introduce their kids to it too. Though the kids will get more out of it than the adults.
@@phlpcockrell I don't even remember in 10 episodes that it was mentioned they're in college. It feels more like a boarding school. Like Hogwarts but for toons. It also doesn't make sense that they're all small compared to their adult mentors. If they're college age, they should be adult sized but even in behavior, they act child like. At least in the original, they showed drinking, smoking and dudes creeping on girls at parties. TTL doesn't show anything like that.
@@ixiahjbuster in one of the episodes says that he used to be on the football team when he used to go to high school. So yea it’s pretty obvious it’s a college.

Now I had already posted this but to you viewers this is so you all get a glimpse Now this is the Truth Months ago A person who Actually Worked on this show and these are they're own words on the experience Fynkie·6h (Though this was actually in February I copy and pasted the words on to here) I see lots of people talking about the reboot. Nice! But also... yikes. I was on the production team of Tiny Toons Academy sequel to Tiny Toon Adventures all the way back in 2020. Oh, boy, what may I share about this? Well, for starters, the show production was a hell pit, and our art director quit on the spot thanks to many things that went badly (but generally, thanks to showrunner antics.) In fact, I remember many artists involved in this project were very pissed off at these changes, and many of 'em (including me) quit the project. That's why layouts for the second episode were drawn somewhere in... FEBRUARY 2022. Yeah, for two years, there's been an ongoing fight. And it seems that this discord just continues to grow limitlessly ;// Now, leaks! The first that I saw was probably done by some pissed-off animator, who just wanted to show people what monstrosity is being created. Followed by the leak of new animation to make fans less pessimistic about the upcoming reboot. Lots of artists and animators are sitting on anonymous forums (which I won't provide a link to :)) where they can vent about this whole project. Also, the studio that worked on the first episode (apparently the 2nd leaked animation) was Studio Redfrog based in France. They worked on the main characters rigger and a couple of props. Moving on to the biggest, most awful change I saw when it comes to this project. Feminism. It's so right into your eyes, and so annoying, and I think it's one of the reasons why Buster's voice is like 5 years old talking. In some leaked shots you can clear it's Babs who takes the spot, while Buster just tends to be cast away. I'm not a writer so I don't know what the F is going on. But, this is straight-up awful. If you'll be able to dig more stuff, try paying more attention to how much Babs is being focused on. lol Are they siblings/couple? One of the things that many of us didn't like was this change. Believe me; there are some very passionate people on the project (at least when I was still around) who did watch the original, and it just kills them from the inside, knowing what this reboot has done. And for the sake of clarity: Babs and Buster are a couple. This reboot won't change that. At least, that's what I heard when they tried to explain this. Which is weird because now this reboot is changing their relationship, so what? Does this mean that whatever TT:L is doing isn't canon or like au or what?? No one knows and will probably never know... What I know is that this show will premiere very soon and is currently tanking. Very badly. Scripts for the first season are all done with 2022 as a release date. So, I don't know, maybe the show's premiere will be like next month or something? Oh, and I almost forgot. Most of the characters you know, won't get the same treatment as the main five - Buster, Babs, Sweetie, Plucky, Hampton. Everything that article says sounds invented, it is too exaggerated and it is a bit funny that the production team says exactly the same thing that the public thinks, it is so ridiculous that that is why I do not believe those words, I even remember reading a user who claims that he worked on tiny toon adventures and animaniacs during 1990-late 1994 and his comment sounds much more realistic and like something that really happened unlike your article which sounds very surreal.
I watched all 10 and I thought it was maybe a C-. Barely passable. Some portrayals are just bad while some are more of a mix. Paradoxically, Hamton is the strongest and weakest character. They established his insecurities of living up to his famous mother's expectations early, so he goes through actual growth through the season becoming more confident, and when he is the center of an A or B plot its usually focused on developing or exploring his character in some way, as opposed to all the others who just do things for no real reason and we never learn anything about besides they have parents and like jokes. Hes the most interesting character but the least funny (besides maybe sweetie but she tries more) Hes just also the most annoying and whiney character, his voice acting is the weakest, i honestly didnt notice he had a southern accent until the 2nd episode and i have no idea why they gave him a stutter besides making him a little porky clone. Like just give him a nervous stutter instead of a constant one so he can still be reminiscent of porky but still himself, with a trait rooted in his insecurities that he can overcome. I do like that babs and buster are twins since the old tiny toons were WAY too horny for each other for my taste. There isnt even a hint of romantic interest between anyone. Montana max gets an episode, and the older looney tunes generally just start and end plots, it is the tinies' show after all, but generally have more involvement in the stories than the old show. They dont babysit the kids and let them do their own thing, but are available for guidance when needed, as mentors should. I could go on all day but basically the lows were VERY low, like they demolished Lola, draining all her looney personality from the looney tunes show to just make her sporty and talented. Basically space jam lola minus the sexual overtones. But the highs were...middling at best. I agree this probably wont make it past season 2 or may miraculously get a 3rd and that would be it.
@Aurora4Llife yeah apparently these are just the first 10 of a 26 episode season so there's still a lot of potential. I really want them to go outside of Acme loo and explore other places. Particularly wacky land. I doubt we're gonna get too deep into characters but bringing us to a point we can really care about them would be great. Also what's up with aqua loo when perfecto prep is already a thing? They didn't do anything with the "aqua" aspect besides the toons being aquatic animals, but they walk and breathe out of water perfectly fine and the school is more or less indistinguishable from Acme loo so why water toons?
@@WSKTV6they even changed the voice actress. I guess the retcon from French to Canadian comes from the fact the replacement can't do a proper french accent.
The humor is nonexistent. Each new scenario is written with no laughs in weird real life environment. The Looney Tunes show did an animated version similar to a Seinfeld series with Daffy and Bugs going through simplistic life lessons that connected and it was incredible. This reboot is non zany failure, that is non lol!
One huge problem that I have is that the animation is very stiff, the original was bright and colorful, but this one is a weaker, pale imitation of what we had! It's like a watered-down Coca-cola, you won't want it after the first sip!
@@WSKTV6The Animation is awkward and chaotic. And yes while Adventures’ Pilot animation was done by the Korean based Kennedy Cartoons(As most of the first half of Season 1), the animation was Zany and Fast Paced and brought energy and looneyness(Especially the episode Elmyra captures Buster and tries to keep him as an exotic pet where Babs has her do a silly dance gag as a diversion “Hup 2 3. Whup 2 3. Hop 2 3. Bop 2 3”.) or the episode where Plucky is in class trying to get to the 3 O’clock bell while Granny is trolling everyone with a trick question quiz. I watched ONE clip of this reboot featuring Lola Bunny. I turned it off after 30 seconds. It was THAT bad.
I recently watched the intro of Tiny Toons Looniversity, and I was disappointed the original cast wasn't back. Now IDK if some of the original voice actors died? But it would have been great if they came back, since it would've kept the spirit of the original. Just like the Animaniacs reboot.
@kingbeef66 I haven't watched Cartoon Network's main channel since late 2017, when Sonic Boom ended. By then, Christina Miller had turned the channel into a dumping ground for Toddler Titans reruns. She's not with the channel anymore, having stepped down in 2019, but she still left some nasty scars in her wake.
@@FlyingDuckMan360 I only watch cartoon Network for Adult Swim. That's it. Unfortunately, whenever they have something good on CN they axe it immediately. I didn't get the chance to enjoy the Mao Mao show, and they also had a pilot for a potentially good show called Trick Moon, unfortunately, they didn't even bother giving that show a chance, and I still haven't forgiven CN for not giving the Kitty Bobo Show with Dante Basco a chance either.
I used to watch the original Tiny Toons Adventures show and from what I remembered it was actually quite fun and entertaining! I recall there was an entire episode about the process of animation and it helped educate me about the craft, this trite however.. is utterly worthless, beyond tedium, I hate modernity...
I'm a 90s kid and fairly enjoyed this new reboot for nostalgia purposes, making Babs and Buster twins in this reboot is kinda surprising and one I can accept since it is a reboot. Still think the 90s OG Tiny Toons is better than this reboot.

@@WSKTV6 It was more having to do with David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros. at the time. Zaslav is sexist, racist, and anti-animation, and he turned down many potential ideas for animated series, especially those with female or LGBTQ leads in favor of low-budget reality programming. Understandably, many people refused to work for WB as long as he was in charge. Thankfully, WB has a new head who isn't anti-animation and is hoping to get the company back on track with new movies based on Looney Tunes, The Flinstones, and The Cat in the Hat.
@@FlyingDuckMan360 David Zaslav is an anti-animation, it's the most obvious thing but ¿racist? ¿sexist? Well, the sexist part may be because of the issue of max and discovery+ but honestly, ¿what's sexist about separating male and female content in 2 different places? There is nothing wrong with that, what was wrong was using already established streamings and changing them for that, but otherwise, ¿what kind of drugs do they consume?
They (barely) showed Shirley funny enough aside from the glasses she seemed the least unchanged. I was more surprised at fifi just out of nowhere having lines. Seems like Shirley got downgraded to a background character as well sadly.
Original Plucky was, despite (or maybe even because of) his egotistical and selfish tratis, likeable and fun. This one is plain insufferable and boring. The duck suffered the most in this iteration.
It's the modern day idea of rewritting what is established and beloved so the producer can have their "definitive" version. It never works outside of a few people who have never seen the original.
@@WSKTV6 The funny thing about that is that there are characters who not only show up in the original series but appear in the more obscure run of the Looney Tunes and you wouldn’t know who they were unless you’re a huge cartoon fan, which I highly doubt that the target demographic for this series are. And with that, whole damn thing seems to fall apart the more you pick at it.
@HerrDeutschBlood The lady behind the show seems to have no experience with the genre. Add to that the decision to not consult with or work with Tom Ruegger & it's clear this is just another hijacked property for a vanity project. But the lack of planning & understanding is baffling!
I honestly don't believe in any of the alleged accusations that the reboot's production team had a bad time, apart from the fact that I already said it in another comment, there is also the fact that it says it on the fandom wiki, ¿why didn't it say it on websites from interviews, podcasts, or on their social networks? It only makes you feel distrustful if it is something said on a fan website.
I think the humor is just as corny as the original Tiny Toons. One big problem both shows have is their idea of a joke is dropping an anvil on someone. Original Looney Tunes did that but anvil gags were more fresh back then and they were trying to be innovative. This show likes to reuse old jokes and is very predictable. The animation looks fantastic. Its very fluid. Rigged animation has come a long way.
You are wrong Elmira along with Montana max will be featured in the reboot. Also I don't really think this review is that bad because in my opinion it captured the spirit of the original series. I am glad this reboot existed because let's be real nobody has ever talked about this franchise and the only ones who remember it are people who grew up with the original show and how old are they now?The series could have been forgotten about I'm happy that some of the writers wants to bring tiny tools back for a new generation which is cool
Just by watching the intro theme, I can tell it was going to be an insult! I only seen 1 or 2 episodes and went no further than that. My reaction was, No thank you! I'll just stick with the 90's OG TTA I grew up on instead!
Tiny Toons Looniversity isn't bad in my opinion, at least from what I've seen, but yes, it suffers from a lot of problems. The characters were kind of put on an extreme level or 1990s, 2000s and 2010s stereotype level to be like cool and hip characters, even though they were great without it. Buster and Babs are not brother and sister in the original and it seems the writers of the Tiny Toons reboot didn't learn some things from the original. Plucky, who is usually my favorite character in the original, has become more of an ass, and his voice doesn't match him. Although he was partly in his element. Yes, while I'm glad they're using more voice actors than celebrities, it's still too bad they didn't kill the voices to match the characters like in the original. I know some actors have died and it can't be the same, but if Looney Tunes characters can retain their characteristics despite changing their voices, so can Tiny Toons characters. All in all, I'm enjoying this more than when I watched the Ducktales reboot and Animaniacs reboot which disappointed me and partly pissed me off. Yes, the animation could have been better, but the style is ok. I agree with most of your reviews though and good video and yes Tiny Toons original will still be the best.
The original show was alright. I don't think it needed a reboot. Even still, the absolute worst thing they did was make Babs and Buster related... like.... ew... Someone is that studio has a thing for incest.
Not every reboot is gonna live up to the original, but if the newer generation likes it that's good and it did its job well!!! Everyone has opinions good or bad but let's not take it personal
No offence but i don't think so i like the both versions. Of corse have a few changes here and there but is not that bad. A few designs i don't hate but it coud be better like for exaple Fifi la Fume i like the old and new designs but i will stay with the old version Its just my opinion i'm a Br looking to something from USA it came Yesterday for Brazil. Don't cancell me please. And about Buster and Babs being twins i'm cool with that but i will again stay with the old version or like they say before "Buster and Babs bunny , no relation"
I loved the old show as a kid in the 90s. This reboot is really bad. That new girl Tweetybird character is obnoxious. And the “modern” references are very outdated.
the voice acting is defintely inferior in the reboot......I feel like babs has been toned down as well.....plucky lacks his arrogant charm.....I thought Shirley was better in the old series to

Well at least I have the Tiny Toon Adventures: Tiny Toons CD which is fantastic!🐰🦆🐷🐇
That's awesome!
They made a music album?
@@MarcMarioMaster Yes they did and it is quite good. Sung by the cast in character. Babs, Buster, Hampton, Plucky, Elmyra and Montana Max to name a few. 🤗👍👏📻
@@SuperMarioBrosIII Ah, in a way sure makes sense. They occasionally had songs in those wacky shows.
As a classic Tiny toon fan. I like the new version. It's different but that's ok.
That's fine! I personally prefer the classic take. Felt closer to actual Looney Tunes.

A person who Actually Worked on this show
and these are they're own words on the experience
Fynkie·6h (Though this was actually in February I copy and pasted the words on to here)
I see lots of people talking about the reboot. Nice! But also... There's very little screen time for them and writers won't focus too much on them, anyway. Also, knowing the showrunner's haterade for bullies (and males). Don't expect anything good to happen with Monty. ;/ Sorry for almost all of these bad news, but I just wanted to share all of this crap because I saw comments saying this will be "the best show ever." It's also worth Noting Tom Ruegger himself hates these changes
Bro i had no idea this show even existed, i don't know how i didn't know about this show until now.
They didn't exactly advertise it very well at all.
Hes the most interesting character but the least funny (besides maybe sweetie but she tries more)
Hes just also the most annoying and whiney character, his voice acting is the weakest, i honestly didnt notice he had a southern accent until the 2nd episode and i have no idea why they gave him a stutter besides making him a little porky clone.
I immediately stopped watching as soon as Buster and Babs mentioned they were twins…not even 5 minutes into the show.
Loved the original in my childhood, and I enjoy this new version a lot. I like it.
They’ve changed Fifi la Fume (one of my childhood crushes) from being French to being French Canadian. The sheer audacity.
That's what they do now. "Oh this thing matters to you? Too bad! We're doing it our way now!" Very sad...
@@WSKTV6they even changed the voice actress. I guess the retcon from French to Canadian comes from the fact the replacement can't do a proper french accent.
I don't see the problem with it
I actually like what they did with her character but it is a weird change
@@francorota8638 How is it a Retcon?
The Reboot just plays in an alternate Timeline and has nothing to do with the OG Show.
Yes! Lot's of people are noticing bad animation. I think they thought no one would care, but I think even kids will find it off.
Definitely tiny toon looniversity stinks tiny toon adventures is better
I recently watched the intro of Tiny Toons Looniversity, and I was disappointed the original cast wasn't back.

It’s basically New Coke Tiny Toons. Yeah, and Cartoon Network is crap now. They just became lazy and cheap.
¿sexist? Well, the sexist part may be because of the issue of max and discovery+ but honestly, ¿what's sexist about separating male and female content in 2 different places? the changes are horrible and unneeded and it's not even good enough to be bad

It only makes you feel distrustful if it is something said on a fan website.
I miss speedy Gonzales 😭😭😭😭😭
That's true.
