J'ai eu la chance de grandir avec ces radios jamais inégalées a ce jours ainsi que les bals de radio Mi amigo tous les samedis dans les villages du nord de la France fin des années 70's la très grande époque Nostalgie nostalgie
Ja, heel leuk om dit fragment te horen. Ik had in die tijd een bandrecorder en zette de snelheid op 4,75cm en kon dan drie uur opnemen. Van 19.00uur tot 22.00uur bijvoorbeeld. Helaas werd de ontvangst na 19.00uur minder door de atmosferische storingen of dat er werd overgeschakeld op een zender met minder vermogen. Maar het was een hele leuke tijd.
toute mon adolescence fut bercée par Mi amigo et radio Caroline . j'habitais Dunkerque et j'ai eu cette immense chance de pouvoir capter ces radios . je me souviens de mes angoisses lorsque l'aiguille du tuner était réglée sur 319 m ou 259 m mais qu'' aucun son ne sortait des enceintes !! je ne comprenais pas pourquoi les diffusions s’arrêtaient soudainement ... alors , par la suite , quand les programmes reprenaient , j'enregistrais sur des cassettes audio Sony ou autre ( que je possède toujours ) des émissions entières avec la musiques , les jingles , les messages d'amour des animateurs , par exemple celui ci : " and in the end , the love you take is equal to the love you make ..." (j'ai par la suite retrouvé ce morceau dans abbey road .) merci Steven de me faire revivre mon passé , malgré tout , quand même nostalgique ...
De 1964 à ce jour..!..RADIO CAROLINE-MI AMIGO..est la Planète musique..number one..
Dit waren echt de mensen die de zeezenders levend hielden na 31-08-1974! Nog steeds hoed af en een diepe buiging! Chapeau! Wat zorgden jullie voor onuitwisbare radioherinneringen!

Ma 1ère écoute fut en 1978 dans le nord de la France lorsque par hasard en fouillant les MW je suis tombé sur BTO "You ain't seen nothin' yet",ce fut une révélation. Mi amigo ou Caroline ont sauvé ma culture musicale malmenée par les hits parade commerciaux de Europe 1 ou RTL .

En nu kunnen we weer luisteren naar de zeezenders maar dan wel via de korte golf op frequentie 6070 zit Radio Noordzee Internationaal en een eindje verder namelijk op 6085 KHz zit jullie favoriete station Radio MiAmigo Internationaal.Ik wens ieder belangstellende veel luistergenot.
I have just had a conversation with an English speaking Dutch lady, who had a listen to the Amigo DJ on this recording. It was interesting to hear her comment that the language used was classed as 'old style Dutch' . I could only think of the analogy in the way the 'old school' presenters on the BBC spoke with extra accentuating of their speech production. She seemed to agree with me on this. I guess it was more important with AM transmission and compression of the signal at that time? Any thoughts?

The Dave Bowie track being played was released in 1977. The off air recording was 1978. R.N.I was no longer on the air in 1978. I wonder who the DJ was?? 😉
Thanks for that extra information. In fact that makes sense due to other things I knew happening at the time with pirate radio broadcasting

Radio Mi Amigo split from Caroline in October 1978, so this must have been one of the last. I only have a smattering of Dutch, but I'm pretty sure the date given at the start is October 15, 1978.

Thanks for your response - this should have just said "the pirate station Radio Mi Amigo" to avoid confusion. At this time they were speaking in Dutch of course. I hope! No jokes about double.
Hi steven,your welcome,and yes,they speak dutch ,also here in belgium most people speak dutch ,so in reall it was a belgian pirate,and btw,thanks alot for put this online, i just love to listen to this all the time
I stopped listening when Caroline went all album.
Then you bailed at the wrong time, you missed a great musical education. Most of my albums were bought because of what I heard on Caroline, never would have known of these gems otherwise.
