Progress of a 2d/3d spectrum analyser for RTL-SDR, HackRF and microphone. Currently back on track after being shelved for a couple of years.
I just wanted a spectrum analyser tool that lets you measure things like a real spectrum analyser does.
I'm putting a lot of time into this, and I want to get it right before releasing it.
Nice work Paul.
Looks good mate. I have some sites with RTL-SDR + micro PCs monitoring DAB and FM services, happy to test when you have something ready to go.
Now I want to know more about those sites, and the specifics
Would be awesome to have a waterfall view for the RTA, Max hold is good but waterfall is lovely to read
I'm looking forward to playing with the mic when it is released.
I just this minute put the mic source in
This is actually awesome af, I started messing around with some SDR stuff a year or so ago and the software all seemed jank af - Good to see more work going into the space!
Yeah that's pretty much the conclusion I came to as well.
What you're doing is freaking awesome......!!!
Thanks man... and you're called radio repairs... so you're a radio guy...
Well shit I’m famous
So are... actually, I'll leave that there
I thought we were working on an oscilloscope…
@@KaiWolf Nah, was always a spectrum analyser. That being said, when you go zero span, it will be like a scope
Wow what a neat idea, and take your time to release it.
Great news!! Nice work!
Maybe something for way down the line, but what about using the hackrf as a tracking generator with the rtl or second source as the specan?
Love this project it looks so good!
thanks for the update!
Would be cool to have a switchable overlay that highlights channel-bands for WiFi/ BT in the 2.4GHz neighborhood..
I'm already on the mother fucker, don't worry
This is really cool
Nice! The audio part is quite interesting aswell! Can´t wait =)
Paul my dude, I dno what it is but i really like your videos. shame i dont live in qld (melb) or i woulda come helped you out some too :) cheers mate and thanks for the vid
Are you good with python? If so, let me know. I've been looking at this non-stop for a couple of week, as my programming mate is only rarely available
Well done! Check out the built in SA of SDRangel. It's got some nice features like peak-hold that would be cool to see in your release version or future updates
I like the markers feature, Would be nice to be able to have bookmarks feature to those markers...or shortcuts....and also capabilities to take snapshot/ save a brief snippet of the spectrum where the marker is- with the user selecting how much of the spectrum before/ after to store along with it. Maybe also an ability to save those marked snippets of spectru m as separate files.... opening them up just give us the marker plus the users desired before/ after captured time. I se you have peak hold nice. You know another interesting reference for features to add in is by taking a look at Audacity...the markers are what labels are in audacity.... but, something else, taking a selection and making a seperate frequency plot out of it
Most of those things you said are actually in the pipeline. At some point I plan to have two plots, so you could have a wide sweep with one device and a zoomed fft with another. This thing is a long way off though.
Great project. Have a look at the tinySA it has loads of functions for very little money. Maybe you can also add some demodulation like AM, FM, SSB etc
No.
This is a great idea. Are you going to open source it so we can all contribute?
Does it work with an SDRPlay? I’m using SATSAGEN with an RSP1a and the accuracy seems quite good.
Are you actually working on the software for the spectrum* analyzer? Looks dope. When can we test it out? Or are you going to SaaS the shit out of it lol
Did you try Satsagen?
Is that the other name your mamma goes by?
@mkosta74 Thanks for pointing out. Better than the loosers answer you got earlier.
Starting to look like AAronia’s software
I'd like to see a focus on wifi spesific stuff to start off with as so many people use those bands. And Joe Bloggs can get more value out of that.
Bribe has been sent!
More features = more money.
😂🤣😂
If you can invoice me for it, I can write it off as work expense?!
I also have a mayhem pack, special bonus if you can port the wifi analisyer to that!!
Oh and obviously I have multiple usb and pci-e RTL cards and hack RF / mayhem and friends with them too. So.. testing 123 testing...
Do you really think I'm going to make a spectrum analyser that doesn't do Wi-Fi specific stuff? Come on... don't make me get all Will Smith on you
why was my post deleted
Who knows... this thing deletes half of my posts too
@@TallPaulTech it's called youtube
Top Dog Networks need to get on top of this audio sh1t 😂
Yeah, right after I finish being on top of your mamma
@@TallPaulTech ROFLMAO
Using vulgar text in the 1st 5 seconds.... you're are as bad as you wanna be!! 😂
