Thanks. This video got me up and running. All the other vids talk about using the Kone. Same with the OM. This video tells you HOW TO SET IT ALL UP. This thing is a BEAST with my Kemper powered rack!
perfect video. I don't need a manual anymore. I just got the powered cabinet and it works as I expected. the tone imprints are really awesome and it covers the whole range.
I have a great 2x12 inch Paul Lenders cabinet with celestion creamback speakers. Sounds like a 4x12. Very light cabinet. As a power amplifier I use a Koch ART-4502. This combination really sounds great. So I still doubt whether I want to buy the Kemper Kone. Would it really be an improvement? Instead of playing guitar, I spend even more time figuring out the right tone.
What does the following setting mean: I have a Kemper Active Cabinet, but have the Kemper Kone Option "Off", Monitor Cab Off "Off"? It sounds similar to the Kone Option "On", Monitor Cab Off "On" with an imprint selected?
Thx for this video on the cabinet. I have a powered one since this week. The Power Cabinet, connected to the "Monitor Out". But when I use the alternate input there is no sound via the Power Cabinet. But the guitar could be heard through "Main Out". Have I got the routing wrong somewhere?

Just thought I'd say this, a decent class D amplifier that isn't a lot of money and goes well with the 4 ohm impedance of the cab is: Victory Duchess Pedal Preamp V4. I suppose you could connect your Kemper stage into the pedal then the pedal into the cab and the pedal would act as the amp.
In the UK that’s £700, you can find a class D amp for at least half that price. I’m sure it’s great but it’s also a preamp and has tremolo/reverb so you’re going to miss out on some features if you go that route. Camplifier, Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170/200 (even the 700 is cheaper), the TC Electronic BAM200 has been reviewed well by many. Again, I’m sure the Victory is great but surely not the best option if all you need is a class D power amp
Hi there, slightly confused by what you said about micing the cab in the beginning. Do you not recommend micing the cab to do recording? IF I have misread and it is OK, I just have a follow up question. When amping the Kemper and recording, does volume matter like with a traditional Marshall amp for instance - as in a certain loudness is needed to get the vibe, or it doesn't matter when using a Kemper?. Thanks
Hi @RizHallowes. It is not recommended to mic the Kabinet. Honestly there's no neeed anyway. Use main out spdif/1/4" jack / xlr direct to your audio interface/daw. Volume doesn't matter when driving an amp. I'd recommend finding a profile with your desired amount of overdriven distortion. If you want to take a small amount of drive out you can use the drive parameter. ICleaning th sound up by rolling off your guitar volume also works really well. don't recommend adding drive using the drive parameter .. find another profile if you want more drive. Hth - cheers Q
You can use direct out as a second monitor out... and set monitor output to stereo... Downside is that you can't use a stereo effects loop any more. See 10:00 You also need a recent version of the Kemper firmware to do this.
So.. I guess it's recommended to match the imprint with the profile's cab to have the most accurate monitoring. Cause if you like another imprint better, the FOH wil sound better with that cab to, right?
Not really but it depends what sounds best to you. As the video mentioned that the idea for the Kone / Kab is to use the speaker as a monitor on stage. So as the imprint is that of an actual speaker then the cabinet in your profile would be turned off (Output Menu Page 7 at the top check on Monitor Cab Off). By doing this you are deactivating the speaker used in the profile. Then you would typically use your main outs to go to FOH. Best to select the option (on Page 2 of the Output menu) to check on Monitor Out Link. This means that only your Kab would be volume controlled by the master volume on the Kemper, i.e. on stage changes to volume will not change the volume going to front of house. Your FOH guys will manage that (probably). Also check Page 2 of the Output menu to ensure that your volumes are reasonable. There is some debate on what the main out volume should be. Mine is -18db but you can see if this suits FOH.
What do you mean when you say "They"? The Speaker Imprints should only be used with Kemper Kone or Kemper Kab. If you're using normal guitar speakers in a 212, you should turn off all IR Speaker Emulation as well.
Please help Kemper as I'm having huge problems here right now. First off, I got my Kab & Kone when it was released, but haven't used it since. This is the first time I try it, however when I connect a speaker cable from Kemper Output (Red) to input of Kemper Kab I get sound. But it's clean only (no matter which preset) and when I try to turn up, or down, the volume in Output Settings (Power Amp volume) nothing happens. My volume is at a steady (pretty loud I might add) no volume settings work be it preset volume, master volume, or Power Amp volume. Changing from dirtiest to cleanest presets doesn't change the sound, also effects doesn't work either. Even presets with lots of reverb and delay produce nothing. Is something wrong? I tried changing Looper In/Output - nothing. I have no USB connecting (to PC) active or and also disconnected the floorpedal. I've been all over Input, Output, Rig settings changing volume tried everything. Turning on/off cabs in presets and in Output settings.
fuckin anon A tad bit late on the return policy, but I’m considering just selling the whole kab & KPA. Get this, I get better tones on my Zoom R16 mixing board than on my Kemper. It has simulations of various amps and they sound pretty good. I even get good tones from Guitar Rig 5 PC software. Go figure :)
the friedman ir x is the new kemper slayer designed by evh's personal tech not a fucking keyboard player ,with real tubes and great tones out of the box .sounds way better and more natural than any modeler could ever sound, can work with your favorite effects and with a power amp and speaker and has an effects loop .
Thanks. This video got me up and running. All the other vids talk about using the Kone. Same with the OM. This video tells you HOW TO SET IT ALL UP. This thing is a BEAST with my Kemper powered rack!

Great video. Waiting for the powered version of the Kabinet. Hope it will be ready soon!

Super. All you need to know about the Kemper Cabinet and how to connect and use it! Thanks 🙏
When will the active version of the kabinet be released?
yes
The first setting sounded best in all examples!
I do really love that you're catching those Rage vibes. I'll do my best to stick up with your gear. Thank you for that engineering masterpiece.
I am so happy than an active Kemper Kabinet will be released. Any news for the release date?
It's out now
I received it yesterday, tested it today and it's amazing! the tone imprint setting works impressively well.
A very clear and helpful video!

Hi there !! Do I need a TRS cable to link my Profiler Head (with Ritter 25 Watt Camplifier) to the Kabinet?
Thanks in advance ;-)
hi😊^^im using kemper power rack with 1 cab, i wish to pair another cab too, how can i make it..? 😊
What does the following setting mean:

Hi...please what is that track at 15:04 ??? Amazing tone

But why do I need such a Cab as monitor, when it's a different sound to what goes to FOH???
so I need a Kemper with power?
I would love to be able to buy a kabinet or kone. It's not available anywhere.
That makes 2 of us :(

Nice video Thomas - v clear - what profile u using at 4:15, sounds like a Marshall of some sorts.

Where can I get a Kemper green neutrik cable???

Kemper need to make a slant version of this with 2 X 12 like the Mission KM-212P. It looks much better on stage and would be less ''directional''.
Can you just connect the profiler powerd head to a normal cab
I have 2 cabinets and a stereo poweramp, but how can i run 2 cabinets in stereo, when my Kemper Head has only one Monitor output??????????
You can use direct out as a second monitor out... and set monitor output to stereo... Downside is that you can't use a stereo effects loop any more. See 10:00

does the cabinet in the stack section have to be turned off for the kemper kone imprints?
no. I just tried it and it sounds like poo. leave it on when you choose your fav. imprint. it works amazingly good.

Do they sound good through this, because they don’t through my 2x12 cab

Can anyone play in another key. Or different lick. You can't tell anything about this
