Wow, this guy is a natural on the camera. Roaches today.... Beyonce tomorrow. Good job homie ! Very easy on the ears and a wealth of knowledge. Very impressed
you look like dewey from malcom in the middle
creamgod he does
creamgod yooooo stop lmao
I was gonna say PJ from good luck Charlie 😂
I don't understand how someone could dislike this video. It's one of the best breeding videos of Dubia Roaches. He explains how to set up their environment, feeding, & cleaning process very well. What more can you ask for?
The best Dubia roach information on UA-cam, I have just started breeding Dubia roaches here in the UK and this is the video I watch to help Me along. Thanks Mr classyHerps.
Great video. I thought I was wasting my time because you look so young but you really know what you're doing. Keep them coming.
Very impressed with your video young man!! You did a super job not talking too fast for us old folks and covering everything. Thank you!!
An actual helpful video on youtube that isn't BS? What sorcery is this?!
In all seriousness your roach food recipe is brilliant. Will be trying it very soon.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! I've been feeding my beardies crickets since day one and have always wondered why they didn't seem as healthy and happy as they should. I decided enough was enough and to do more extensive research on other food sources. Your video has convinced me and I have just made a purchase to start breeding my own! Thank you!
Congrats!
For high protein you can add Spirulina, its a form of blue/green algae, containing up to 70 percent protein by weight and with all of the essential amino acids, the quality of spirulina's protein rivals that of the best protein sources.
What a great instructional video! Just started a colony for my two Beardies and watched a bunch of videos on UA-cam and yours rocks! Very professional and informative, thanks a ton!
Hi. I'm very new to reptile care. I wish I had seen your video when I first started. Brilliant! No more crickets! Thank you!
For a KID, you are awesome. I wish I would have seen this prior to me breeding crickets. Thanks man, you rock.
Couldn't have asked for a better video man! You covered everything I needed to know to start my own roach colony! Thanks
I just wanted to thank you for the great information and cost cutting advise on the dubia roaches. I have started a colony and they are doing great.
Thank you sooo much for doing this! You covered it all! I was super nervous about starting my own colony. Not anymore! :) 💜💜
Who gave this young man a thumbs down???? For what? Good job Classy!!!!!
Nice video. Thank you! Seems like there would be a way to put a screen at the bottom of colony so the poop would be separate. Just lift the screen and colony out and leave the poop behind.
this video what got me to breed roaches, thanks for all your info
I love how thorough this is
Yes!!! They are AWESOME!! I swear by them. Started my colony with their help. Susan is awesome, you can't go wrong with them.
Most informative video I could find with this. I noted how comfortable you were around camera
You did great.
Ultimate explanation.
Not only theory but also practical.
Very clear and i like it
Keep the good work mate. 😊👌🏼
I just can't believe he is doing this over carpet. His parents are very patient people.
thanks dude this helped me start a colony and I already have babies after 1 day of owning them thanks so much :)
Thanks man, great video you simplified it for a beginner like me ,can't wait to start my own colony with your help.
I've been looking for a good video with clear and concise steps for a while, and I finally found one. Nice work, keep making badass videos and I'll keep watching them :)
This video is really helpful specially to those who want to start breeding dubia roaches like me. Thank you sir...
I want to try this now. I hate using crickets and if this is easier and better for my leopard geckos, I'm down.
Very informative! Keep up the good work man 🤙🏼
My 2 bearded dragons can eat a lot, so I guess your's too, starting a colony would be a great investment!
I started with 300 roaches about 6 weeks ago and it's doing great, i'm so happy I started this.
In the store here I pay € 3 for a small box of stinky crickets and the 2 dragons can eat like 2 boxes in a meal.
Now they are full with like 4 or 5 roaches and some greens. And the female roaches are giving a LOT of nimps!
This is extremely informative, thank you. I don't know how old you are, but you are very mature for your age.
Bookmarking this for later watch in full. New to breeding roaches. But had to say the feeding moment at the beginning was super fun to watch. :D
Wow, awesome video! I'm impressed. While they can't fly upward, I have seen videos of different kinds of roaches that can't fly, that, if they fall they will flap their wings in order to slow their decent and can probably gain horizontal distance as they fall.
thanks for the video. Very helpful. Just starting my colony now. Bought 100 assorted 1/2 and smaller-seemed like not very many so I just ordered 100 adults and will be getting another 200 mixed sizes.
thanks a lot bro...Great video just got 200 in the mail today, and your video just turned me in to a pro roach farmer.
I am so impressed! This video is wonderfully informative! Great job!
Tip,you can make water crystal by soaking a diaper, then opening it up.The diaper will be filled with it,make it different colors too!
Wow!!
I ordered from the Netherlands 2 weeks ago. It was in total $ 66 for 300 roaches and shipping. 200 adults 50/50 M/F and 100 nymphs. They are huge and very calm, never gonna go back to crickets!
Am I the only one so intrigued and focused on the background music? 😂😂😂 so intense I felt like at any moment Rambo was gonna pop out with a machine gun
it's hard to not subscribe after watching this
great video! very detailed and clear
i have been thinking about starting a colony myself and will definitely take the advises in this video
Am I back in the 80s haha. That intro is amazing!
I loved the video. Awesome such great info. Ill be starting my colony soon . Best 1 on the tube. Keep it up brah
You made this video and all the hard work look so easy!!! and I hope one day I will be able to do this for my reptiles. There is a lot of great information here and you helped many who are curious or looking forward to starting their own colonies
Great vid! You make keeping roaches seem very accessible, I'm actually a bit intimidated by how many you're producing out of just a pair of bins. Thanks for putting this up!
I've been feeding dubias for a couple of years and they still make my skin crawl. I can't handle them with my bare hands like you are lol.
One of the better videos I've watched.. great job
Amazing video! I have a very very veeery deep disgust for roaches, but I'm planning on getting a Tarantula and I think I'm gonna feed it these roaches... thank u for showing us how it's done!
you have made the best most interesting video on breeding insects ive ever seen love it hope i can get into this soon how much cost did it take to start (tubs roches etx)
That's amazing, the quantity you have. I recently bought my first Dubia's for my Dragons and I love them! I badly want to start breeding them, I'm going to use your advice.
Actually they can fly if spooked and high up, I've seen mine do it a couple times
Try a cat litter scoop for cleaning. Much faster cleanup.
+gunthers69 I use a larger pasta strainer. I suppose that's even faster than the litter scooper.
+Stephanie Caro You do know the baby's eat the poop of the adults? No need to clean if you keep alot of roaches.
I love this information on this video. I am going to start a colony within a few months hopeful. I plan on having several lizards and turtles.
Well i had crickets and locusts and they didn't smell very bad at all, and cockroaches i find poop a lot more than crickets. i found my crickets lived long, plus i bred locusts and raised them up into adults and that was very easy.
Crickets smell like shit they die soo fast they fight they chew everything they really aren’t healthy crickets suck
i just found out im allergic to crickets
I also use the chick crumbles but I blend mine as well.....like sinisterrodents, I picked up a mini processor got from Goodwill. After I blend up my ingredients I store and date the part I blended in a gallon sized ziploc bag. Another thing I do is add crested gecko pellets to the mix because my cresteds would not eat them and I did not want to waste any money. Love the video.
Planning to use this with my tarantulas and scorpions. Awesome video!
Oh and before I forget. The water crystals are the same thing that is found in baby diapers. I take it out of the diaper after it was "used" and used to throw it on my compost heap. Now I use some of it to provide water to my roaches and scorpion.
its funny; i just just started growing veggies myself--and as soon as you showed all that roach poop, i was like i hope he uses that in the garden somewhere lol good job and very good vid.
Thank you so much!!!!! This was so helpful and you really opened my eyes on how much better they are than crickets. I will buy some off your website! Keep up the good work, you just earned yourself another subscriber
Hey Bud great video. Just something I wanted to add... you can tell males from females long before their final molt (last instar). If you look underneath at the last plate of their abdomen (at the butt) if the final plate is longer than the ones before it then its a female and if its really small it is a male.
A very informative video thanks, just the info I needed. All the best, Jim
Been researching what i should feed my beardie that im getting soon. I heard roaches were the way to go when it came to the insect part of their diets. Thanks for the informative vid on roach breeding! Now ill be able to feed my beardie a good staple bug and save on buying the bugs!
I know you can use the guts of a diaper for plants which is basically the water crystals your showing, so I would imagine it would work just fine for roaches. A pack of diapers would be easily available and would be pretty cost effective as there is quite a bit of that stuff in a diaper.
Great info dude . I was debating on whether to buy 20 adults or 100 XL dubia but after watching this I think im going with the adults . I gotta get the ball rolling on dubias , Im sick of crickets . Thanks man !
Wow that video covered everything, first time after a video that i dont have any questions.
This guy is awesome and knows what hes talking about great guy
Totally agree with you !!
Got my first tarantulas 11 months ago and initially I fed them crickets - because online T owners seemed to use them as feeders. From day 1 I hated them. Like you said..... they smell, they jump, no matter how much good food I gave them they still ate each other, and no matter how clean I kept the enclosure there was always crap everywhere and it smelled fowl. Changed to Dubia roaches about 6 months ago and I’m so happy now, plus my Ts are getting more nutrition. I also highly recommend people to use roaches instead of crickets 👍🏼 😁
I really want to have some because just like you my crickets kept dying and eating each other. I really want to try these dubia roaches but Im afraid of them Lol. Any suggestions you could give me to help get over my fear of roaches? Also, what is the best ideal container to keep them in?
deserteagle511 - truth is, I’m scared of roaches....but I was more scared of the crickets. I’ve never handled either of them, I use 30cm feeding tongs to pick the roaches up and offer to the Ts. I really can’t help you to rid your fears if I can’t even do it for myself. The thing I hate most is legs and antennas, the crickets seem to have more of these compared to the roaches. Very soon I’m going to try and pick up a roach whilst wearing rubber / hygiene gloves. My roaches do not breed because I don’t give them a warm enough setting... mine seem fine at a constant 76*, they last for months - they just don’t breed. I buy them as and when needed, they aren’t expensive online. I keep their enclosure extremely clean, and I give them lots of different foods - I try hard to keep them and my other feeder insects clean and healthy because I want my Tarantulas to be healthy. I hope this has helped a little... 👍🏼
Thanks friend. I ordered some last night. Im going to be doing the same thing by using the tongs. Eventually I hope I can mustard up the courage to hold one, and yes, crickets are kind of creepy looking when you think about it haha
deserteagle511 - I’m pleased to hear you’re going to try them. Hope it goes well. I’m always here if you want any help.
Sorry for the late reply but I got them a few days ago and I got them in a 20 gallon tank. I also ordered a heat pad and placed it under my tank. I'm not sure what the temp or humidity is because I dont have a termo stat to measure that kind of stuff. I do however mist 2 times a day. I also feed them an apple. Which a few have been eating. I also have an egg cartoon and 4 rolls of toilet paper for them to hide in and crawl under? Do you suggest anything else?
I have a growing collection of reptile and am trying to get some reach to start breeding for food and saw on your video its rather simple to care for them thanks for the info
Very informative! Great job! Can't wait to get started breeding these!
You are doing an awsome job bro hope I get a colony started soon.
this video is brilliant mate very well put together
Wow thanks! Just ran across your video, very informative, didn't know these were a better source of food for reptiles. Just inherited a Bearded Dragon from my grandson & would rather raise healthy food for her than buy crickets that don't live long enough for anything. Also noticed this was made several years ago. Are you still making videos, growing your own reptile food etc. This has helped me a lot. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the tips. Overall you were the most helpful at getting my colony started. I also have it posted on my channel ;)
You could always sell them at any Reptile Expo, thats what I plan on doing with mine when I get my colony going
This is such an awesome video! Thanks so much for all your information!
I found your video extremely informative and educational
Bro, you probably have the best vid on the topic (aside from pro dealers), very informative and detailed. Awesome job, and I 2nd that comment about getting a beardie to control the population. My beardies are the reason my colony looks the same after nearly a year. The one thing I haven't done was separate the nymphs to raise on their own, I'll try that. Also I wish I could get chicken feeder around here, but no farms by me here in NYC so that's gonna be hard to come by.
This video was just so informative. such a great video thanks
Great complete video about roaches
here in sweden you can get dubia´s for 0,20 dollars each (1,5 swedish kronor) and they are full grown!
Great vid. Very informative. I can now keep a happy and healthy beardie
You've got balls to hold roaches. I am planning on breeding some colonies of dubias in the near future, but I hate bugs and I definitely will be using tweezers or something on them haha.
This video convinced me to start breeding them, thanks. I can't stand the smell of the crickets anymore!
Here in Europe I can get 100 adult dubia's for $ 18. Gonna order them right now!
Hi Collin, I truly appreciate this instructional video.... I know its been about a year since you produced it, Hope everything is going well... I only have like about 15 roaches to start with, hopefully Ill do ok... cheers.
Thank you so much for this tutorial and sharing your experience!
Crickets only smell bad when you leave dead crickets in the bin. I thought crickets were gonna stink up my home, but I'm always maintaining the bin, cleaning out crickets that died off and changing out the orange cubes
Awesome video, thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge!
Great video bro! Awesome explanation and demonstration
Very informative video! I am interested in buying some of your breeders if you are selling. I was considering breeding crickets for about 2 weeks now, but your video has swayed my decision to breeding roaches. The smell was my biggest concern, and now that I know that the roaches don't stink and have a great life expectancy I will definitely be going for the roach colony.
Thanks allot for this video, answered allot of questions! I am planning on getting a Bearded Dragon and I heard that Dubia Roaches was a good choice but I didn't know anything about them.
Excellent tutorial! Thank you for sharing!
Good video. Ovoviviparous is the term i believe. Carry eggs until they hatch.
I bought 500 crickets from petsmart for my bearded dragon and they died the next day -_-
Mario Ramos
I feel sorry how much did they cost?
Don't buy ANYTHING from flukers.....
Go on Craigslist..There's always someone breeding insects...And they'll give you a way better deal...Petco /Petsmart charge like 10-15 cents a cricket over here...Depending on small, medium or large.. Craigslist that's where I go to buy mines for my bearded dragons...
I won't buy anymore live food from petsmart I got 50 wax worms and they were all dead so I took them back they said they are not supposed to move at all but they exchanged them and me and the worker look through all of their wax worms they were all the same not one moving the worker said they were just cold so after having them out so they could warm up still no movement at all so I took them to a reptile store and asked them if the wax worms were alive they said no they were all dead and even if they were cold when they warmed up they would move. This happened the first few days I had my bearded dragon.
Regits Cooler Brother! Probably like $50 lol they’re really cheap
Wonderful vid, very useful! I'm going to start a Dubia colony myself, for my current Heterometrus petersii (Asian Forest Scorpion), and my future Euscorpius sp. couple (European scorpions).. I guess I can feed adults to my Heterometrus, and nymphs to my Euscorpius couple :) And.. when I get too many roaches, I'll cook the remainder for myself!
You should really feed these to your crested geckos and your rosehair tarantula as well. My cresteds get them once a week and it really helped them beef up...but for the cresteds, if you feed the dubias, make sure you put them in a container so they stay in one place for easy feeding and no escapes.
Ok so I jus watched your video and id just like to say thank you. Simply great work, I just recently got a bearded dragon and I know this video is 4 years old....but dude awesome work!
grate info i will be giving this a try and i loved your fast farward sections where grate
Subscribed! I just ordered 100 dubias online from rainbow mealworms in California and are sized med/small for my juvinille beardie hoping to have a better experience than I did with petsmart crickets (more expensive, cheaper online) . 100 to start off with since it was recommended. So many more pros than cons with dubias compared to crickets :) Thank you for the video :)
Love your water dragon setup
Looking good i love breeding my roaches aswell. Might want to look into a blender for the food. i picked one up at my local Goodwill for 3 bucks and grinds everything up fast and easy. But looking good...
I just bought some! The place that I got them from sends you the females already pregnant. Real time saver.
when I ordered my roaches from this guy, I think the females layed while being shipped so I spread had baby roaches
Thanks for making this video. It was very helpful :D
