@@georgejgilles.3999 They really are... top talent and tactics. Don't sleep on my boy Glenn though, especially if Cory makes the mistake of wearing leg warmers.
@@isaiahhudson3729 What you don't realise is how much higher the level is in Europe...These boys are bosses with mad tactics racing without a team. Glenn has gotten 22nd in the Dutch National RR champs and 17th in a Dutch TT against Pros. I think he got a 17th in a Pro and Elite W/C race. This cat is FAST and powerful. I raced in NL and Belgium for 4.5yrs. I know these kinds of races. Glen is an echt klasbak. Goed bezig ventje!
Holy f*** watching the cycling events at the Olympics is going to be so much more interesting after finding this channel!!! The strategy and these mind games are awesome!
I'm just gonna say it. There's no way around it. Glen needs to work on holding the wheels and sticking close in the draft. He accelerates so many times just because he was freewheeling more than needed in the lead-in and through corners and also being a bit too optimistic when he is almost caught up to a rider or a group and it ends up costing him when they pick up the pace again
@@andarenbici Oh I ment in general. Not so much specifically in the end. I don't think the narrowness of the course has much to do with it. It's just that he stops pedalling before he is fully caught up to the wheel and/or starts pedalling again later than everyone else. As for the end you are probably right that he could not have done anything in terms of the junior. Other than having pretty spent legs he was a marked man so going early wasn't really an option. Also from what I remember Glen is a pretty big guy and looking at his sprint power I guess it's not terribly surprising that he might get outsprinted by someone else when we are talking A-grade. I feel like maybe he should've put more effort into getting to a reduced group with less sprinters as his strength lies elsewhere.
@@yannickokpara4861 he is deliberately letting the wheel go a bit to in order not to brake going into the corners and considering the braking/slowing down into the corners of the other riders. That, and the inconsistency in power of those pulling on the front...
@@maguilecutty Yea but he is grossly miscalculating the need to do that. The gap is much bigger than you need to be able to do your own line/not bump into the others and he should have found out after doing it several times that he is losing from it every time. As for the inconsistency in power it is not like you don't expect people to ramp up the power out of a corner. Being the only guy not on a wheel just means you'll be working that much harder.
Jeff, love the videos. You are 2x the racer I was. Can you make a callout for a supper hilly course like Paterson pass or copperopolis RR? I think I'td be cool to get perspective on big hill races.
Everywhere is different.. Since it rains every day in Holland they make the roads porous. The rain sinks through the road, and you get excellent grip. If you then ride in the south of France/Italy/Spain oil comes off cars and is collected on the roads for months. The roads are normal and not porous. When it rains in the south, the oil floats on the top of the water on the road. That makes everything very slippery and possible to crash going around a corner at 15 miles per hour. That is why if you watch the Tour de France you will sometimes see riders crash going slowly. That will never happen in Holland. Holland = excellent roads, but with the amount of road furniture, there are still a ton of broken bones. Collarbones sticking out of shirts....
You can tell it's a euro race because not everyone in the bunch is riding an aero bike with deep section carbon rim's, believe it or not you can still go fast on alloy wheels.
its the full size rear fender on the one guy lol. but this is also a training race of sorts. this isnt like your regional multi day crit overall. guys are gonna show up on alloys because its not THAT important and the workout is what matters. plus rain and carbon rim brakes? no thank you lol
@@chriswitek9455 hahaha yep, I'm all too familiar with carbon rim brakes in the rain. But on the same hand I know a few weekend warriors who wouldn't be seen dead without their deep sections, no matter the ride 😂. (But they aren't very quick)
Jeff, the next time you have a rear-facing camera like this, I think you should try flipping the image to make it act like a rear-view mirror. At least to me, it's very unintuitive now.
I would chip in to fly Glenn out so he could go to battle against VC/Chaz, Legion, and then the big boss at Alviso.
I may make a trip out. Anytime you can beat Mike’s Bikes is a good time. 🙌

The guy who won was Tristan Hartmann, next year he will be a 2nd year junior. He is very talented, we need to look out for him next year!
Love these race reviews with Glenn. He sounds like a great guy too.

I must say this is the first time I have watched racing and I love it! So exciting. Great fun seeing these vids. Cheered me up so thanks.
I love how a bunch of the riders over there are massive🤣 looking at the head tubes on some of those bikes normalizes me riding a 2xl canyon aeroad
The Dutch are the tallest people in the entire world, statistically
yeah, lot of guys riding on 60 + size frames. Im just around average with 186cm here haha

That comment at the end, Sprint points, GC points, that doesn't matter, I got the guy with the leg warmers. And that is all that matters in the end.
The real Dutch mentality :P !
