8:05 : rider right in front is Quentin Michel, (with US Saint Herblain kit) who is an Elite (not pro) rider in France. The level of racing in France is just that high.
My team did the Tour of Belize. When they realized the local sprinter was down a few points on our sprinter, the officials would announce new sprints, mid race! Funny, how we were the only team to not get the news. We still won, though.
Regarding the screwed up distance signs at the end of the race, it seems like the race organizers confused km's with miles. Because when passing the 1km to go sign, there was only 640m to go which is roughly equal to 1km if it were 0.64 miles to go, and the 500m to go sign occurred with 320m to go which is roughly equal to 500m if it were 0.32 miles to go. Pretty funny mistake for them to make.
These island race tours are a little bit BS because the sprint points and the finish are not well marked or where there supposed to be. So no one knows except the local pros know and it stacks things in their favor.
@@Aniqa101Nope, I should have added, 3rd division (DN3) of Elite French amateur league, after DN1 and DN2. It's still a bit far from Conti Pro (3rd division at world level) but lots of very strong guys.
Meanwhile we race back and forth on a interstate frontage road 😭. Kudos to the french guy who apparently killed it for multiple days, saved the break, did the most work!
The american use of the word "pro" is so flexible. Not one pro rider jn this race. Strong, elite riders sure, but no pros. Good video tho apart from that .
French dude definitely looked to be pulling more, but too narrow to give a good draft. Also, why is distance marking so hard for this organizer?? Conspiracy?
Nice video but unless you are talking about something else than ''Tour Tahiti Nui'' (which I doubt), there isn't a single ''French Pro'' lol, not even from Continental level. Still a high amateur level but well 😁
I'd love to do the Couch to crit but paying the price of R3500 in South Africa is a big ask. Strava is like R600 a year and 35usd is R628. Damn, this country needs to be reformed. A gx cassette here costs R4000. That's 222 usd.
Of all the worldwide sports, road biking is my favorite, especially with professional dialogue non-stop. Note my thumbnail of my beloved Eddy Merckx 68 Puegeut on the training stand in my kitchen.

24 years old is a good age for cycling.
4:21 - my jaw dropped. That guy was looked like he was shot out of a cannon at a lead out of 55km/ph. Holy smokes.
Bro right!!! They were already going 34 mph.
I still have nightmares about those “sprint” points
skettttttch
Awesome video, definitely more stage race videos!
Looks like Zwift with cars and humidity
lol kinda does
heads of to the french dude, he looked strong as heck

"French pros" and then it's 3rd division french amateur riders 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He is a good Elite national rider (from a 3rd national division team) but not pro.
Yes, like UCI Continental Team member.

Are they getting paid? Then they're pro
Anyone know the guy that won ig
@@KevwePatani he's not getting paid man, "only" gets bike kit and maybe 300€ for the expenses. Thats not pro.

i think they just eyeballed it lol
You said it yourself: organized by an entity from France. Come here for a bit and you'll see why
It's almost always pretty rough in these unconventional? Foreign races. I've done some that were 20+ km short or longer than stated
Soo green 💚
Cool video 🔥
with which cassette and development are those ports uploaded?
