I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. In my opinion this is the best Mix & Max choreo yet. I don't think it's gonna go as viral as some others because it doesn't have a catchy Song but this one is for the dancers and performers for sure.
I would suggestion you watch the one with Sunwoo and Q from the boyz . That's impressive too
omg i agreeeee like you really need to look deeply and understand the storyline to really enjoy this performance. unfortunately i have seen many people kinda ignore all those aspects but once you look deeply into the story and how they are trying to express it with dancing it just becomes so much better.

@@Veda98480 I already have!! I'm so proud of them fr and I love how the used props too but in my opinion it's still not as good as this one. That's just my opinion though.
I agree, they should've given jisung a stronger solo because his was DEFINITELY way too easy for him!
I was so happy to see this combination of Mark and Jisung 🔥 (definitely a powerful duo), and I hope we could see more of Jisung in this kind of project cause he is an amazing dancing and he barely have this activities. I love this ❤️
Mark is suitable for contemporary dance more than I expected. He’s really good!
here definitely not his usual style,his main style is hip hop but he still take dance classes to other genre someone said they spotted him learning locking , imagine with his tight schedule,
i also love love love the detail in jisung's arms/hands when he dances. i think this combo was chosen on purpose because mark's fluid dance style is perfect for representing the last human on earth while jisung has been killed off and turned into AI. they mentioned the concept in the teaser ! they really delivered with the emotions fr
Actually it was Jisung who choose Mark.
it's the way how Mark can make the most simple movement attractive and the way he demands you to keep watching him (and he's so sexy too!!! you are so relatable Jeff!!!)
Jisung has the precision of an ai tho and his isolation is so satisfying to watch, this kid needs more exposure and solo stages and he'll be the end of us, really!!! He's already an amazing dancer, I'd love to see how much he can grow as a performer!!!

Am I the only one reading too much into the end? Their stances are so different 😅 Jisung is like standing straight like a ruler, almost...robot-like? And blank. While Mark still shows human..emotions? And the hardships...the slight hunch? 😅 Because Jisung has already been killed! Is Mark the only human left?

i thought mark is emotion and jisung is power or something since the start , js was emotionless meanwhile mk looked in agony or something even their mvmnt one is sharp and one lenient/spicier lol , jisung aslo the one controlling mark??
@@assyaml5359 ohh, yes that makes sense. Mark holds on to his human side until the end which explains still the struggle you can see in him from time to time, while Jisung becomes an AI/robot, and occasionally takes control or who has been controlling Mark (before Mark was taken).
Mark has a sexy vibe . when he dances, it's so spicy with his facial expressions, and he has neat and detailed movements.
I agree with you that Jisung's solo should incorporate more challenging details because he is very capable. By the way, his dancing is also incredibly powerful. I admire the speed of his movements. he moves like a real robot.
Okay, so here’s my interpretation of the dance!
They’re brothers.
They were some of the last people on Earth still fighting not to be turned into AIs.
Their solo parts, where Mark goes first, depicts of him fighting for his life then he gets dragged away by the “entities” then Jisung comes in and does his solo part (depicting his fight to remain human).
The thing is, whereas Mark gets DRAGGED, Jisung was SHOT IN THE HEAD.
And that’s probably why when they already turned into AIs, Jisung’s facial expression is creepily empty (yes, like that of a Robot) like he completely lost all his humanity, whereas for Mark, I was shocked to realize he switches from empty soulless eyes to having some glimpses of emotion (like he was still fighting inside of him to keep his humanity).
JEFF, I’ve been waiting for you because I know you do contempo so you would actually understand and interpret it. Not a lot of reactors do that! 😭 I love you!!!
If this was a dystopian movie (lol 😂), when the “entities” “turned” them, since Jisung was shot dead in the head, he became a total AI (or rather, they took his being to create a humanoid that’s so like him), whereas for Mark, for some reason, his mind was rejecting it, he couldn’t be totally “programmed”. His mind was too strong that he became one of the “glitches” in the System. But since he was too valuable, and they needed more tests to decipher the “glitch”, they turned him into a lethal human weapon instead (a cyborg). So he resembles that of an AI on the second section of the dance, but towards the end, you are able to see the glimpses of humanity in him.
That’s a cool interpretation…It would definitely make sense from what I’ve seen in the dance. 😮

Seriously, whenever I pause this performance (and I think I've watched it about 50 times at different speeds) the pictures they make are just stunning. They said in their behind/making of interview that they wanted to show their chemistry and I think they definitely did that. They contrast and compliment one another beautifully and above all the STORYTELLING!
They chose songs for a specific reason and the teams of choreographers and stylist and everyone involved chose things to tell a specific story. Their struggle, their will to survive, their grimaces of pain and fear, their EYES, the eerie beauty of the AI versions... everything really moved me and that is the power of dance.

i saw a kfan interpreting how mark fights bcs he doesnt wanna give up to be a human meanwhile jisung fights bcs he hates to be an AI and i was like….wow???
also i didnt get it at first but after seeing people mentioned jisung’s blank expressions and how he holds his breath when he becomes an AI, watching it again really gave me goosebumps hes really creepy and scary……..

yes it's great cause Mark dance's type is hip hop and Jisung is more popping like they're different but they can be amazing in contemporary dance 💞

I just loved Mark & Jisung's performance. It made me a new fan of theirs and got into NCT because of it. They're really underrated as dancers especially cause they debuted in 3rd gen and were so young then hence, they were mostly overlooked with a lot older idols but people should include these two as one of the best kpop dancers out there.
I'm Jisung biased. His dancing is just so phenomenal. I only look into discographies and vocals when liking a kpop group but this was my first time liking someone because of dancing. He is just a phenomenal dancer. I could watch him dance all day honestly

OMFG this is amazing, Mark & Jisung’s individual artistry & synergy with each other is off the charts! This is such a different concept/style from what we’ve seen them do & they absolutely DEVOURED it - even down to their facial expressions telling a story. I’m so so proud of them & hoping to see much more from this iconic duo!! before this got released they had this kind of interview for this, and the concept for this is like humans in apocalypse/end of the world vs ai hence the styling change. and you can REALLY see the concept shine especially in their expressions - acting as humans with fatal and emotional expressions but the moment they turn into robots/ai their expressions turn cold, even at the end you can see Jisung just standing still not showing any signs of being tired (not heavy breathing for example) after such exhausting dance routine which is CRAZY!!! they pulled off this concept so well and this choreo was beautiful im so glad they had a chance to show off their talente 😍👏🏽🔥
they did a behind the scenes for this and they explained about the theme and storyline. so they're the last two remaining humans on earth and are trying to escape from the AI robots. mark was captured first (when the dancers pulled him away) then jisung next. both of them were turned into the robots after that and they just can't live as an AI. they would rather die than become an AI robot, so they pulled(?) the plugs in the end.
Thanks to Ten & Winwin for opening the duo dance concept tho. Started from their dance cover then now seeing this expanded to K-scene.

I have always wanted them to show their versatility and this was perfect (execution, choice of songs, back up dancers etc.)
The only thing I could probably nitpick on is so trivial --- I wanted few _silver_ lines where their joints are, for example, the wrist, shoulder and elbow with their black markings (android costume) because I believe it would have emphasized their movements just that little bit more

I didn't like it unfortunately and it's because Mark overpowered Jisung, Mark can't help it bacause let's face it he simply has IT! He's a great performer and his charisma is out of this world... HOWEVER, like you said Jisung's solo is way less complex than Mark's and the choreo somehow gives the impression that Mark is first and Jisung is second if you know what i mean
I've seen the behind of this performance and Jisung said that studio choom approached him and asked him to pick a partner and he chose Mark and in my opinion it's a mistake, it just doesn't work. I tried to think whom Jisung would make a great pair with and i honestly found none, in my opinion he'd make such a great soloist and i'd love to see him featured in Choom "artist of the month" but yeah i still love the fact that they got to do something new

unpopular opinion: I dont like the reaction spoilers in the intro 🤭
No hate to anybody involved, but this mix and max edition was a little underwhelming for me . Considering that both of them are such explosive dancers, they could have really chosen a better song. The concept is unique, the choreography was good but the choice of song is slightly off . Like the mix and max with sunwoo and q from the boyz was so engaging, they chose an iconic song called thunder from imagine dragons, that imo was a perfect performance - the song is great, the choreography was outstanding, the concept hit the spot and ofc both members are very emotive dancers as well. For me , this one really was a miss, and it bothers me more because this was one place where Jisung could have shined the brightest 😕😒
I think it is because the main dancer chosen is Jisung and his main style is popping and locking, the song suit this kind of dancing style and he choose Mark to be his partner since Mark is a dance major
