    Nice ls motor!

    If you were to start your own sprint car series, would this be a good engine platform? Is it a more affordable way of going? 4 year old post..whats your opinion now? And how was the liability of this engine since then?

      It's very good platform. The motors last, cheap to get parts for and you can build one competetivey speaking for less than a 305. But they're like any other engine, you have good and bad builders, engines. etc. But overall, very happy with them.

    i'm working on putting together my first spring car, using an LS, my question is, how did you go about hooking up the the multi port sprint radiator, what fittings did you use on the front of the LS? Thank You

    • @eagle_706_racing
      @eagle_706_racing  3 роки тому

      I ran two -8AN fittings to the top of the radiator split from a reduced -16AN, capped one of the ports, and used the other for the steam vent that all LS motors have. Hope this makes sense.

      @@eagle_706_racing that does make sesnse, next question, of the 2 radiator ports on the engine, the port with the thermostat, goes to the bottom port on the radiator correct? but the top port is that pressed in fitting, that goes to the top of the radiator... in a normal vehicle anyway, what do you do with that top port?

    • @eagle_706_racing
      @eagle_706_racing  3 роки тому

      @@rockyrunangusranch-wieszracing Depends on your radiator. I had a Saldana and the ports were across the front. The thermostat was where I bought the adapter waterneck to reduce to 8AN.

    What is the firing order on this? Did you go back to the old school small block Chevy firing order?

      @@eagle_706_racing I definitely love the small block Chevy… But I am on a budget. I’m trying to get my sprint car on the track. I thinking about trying to put together a LS. Is the bell housing pattern the same? Do you run your fuel pump off of the cam?

    • @eagle_706_racing
      @eagle_706_racing  3 роки тому

      @@2648498 Same bellhousing and yes you run the fuel pump off the cam via spud. But just make sure you have a rear motor plate with the oblong hole because the cam in the LS sits a little higher than standard sbc's

      As far as Specs go, I am not 100% sure. We have a friend in Charlotte that got the cams for us out of some K&N series cars. That's honestly all I know. Thanks for the question

    What are you doing with this? Obviously not a crate CT-525. There's a REASON nobody uses an LS engine.
    That 1 little air filter intake is going to flow like 8 injector stacks? God that's an ugly engine with those unsightly coils.
    Good news is you could run a low rounded 1955 style hood.

      That's not true at all. Are you a Rotary guy? And you obviously haven't been around because the LS platform is being used in EVERYTHING now. It's in a Sprint car that is kicking the crap out of 305's and many 360's as it sits, also keeps up with the 410's. I appreciate the comment but being a decent human being instead of a child bagging someone else's stuff.

      @@eagle_706_racing You're the child here pal. Here..... I'll lead by example. *_"Are you a Rotary guy?"_* No!
      See? Question asked. Question answered. Do you extend that basic respect and answer my question? Hell no.
      *NOTHING* uses LS Platform except NASCAR & Knoxville limited (Carb CT525 boring as shit) slow-ass sprints. Because they mandated LS be used.
      Your engine isn't legal w/305s and it's worthless against 360s & 410s. Sprint engines must have middle 2 exhaust together (SBC or Mopar)
      Evenly spaced headers LS - junk Ford 360 & 410 - junk (Schatz zero for 20 in 2021) New Toyota 410 - Junk Scelzi - Winless

      @@raymond3803 Feel better? You've got nothing positive to say so you attack someone else's video's because you "think" you know the scoop. Hmm, maybe you should be an analyst for NASCAR and the entire racing community. Because UMSS and the Renegade series are LS. And don't tell me ANYTHING about what you think you know when we've had a WOO driver in one of our cars. You're just a bitter old school moron who can't stand to see the future happening in front of your eyes when these motors are built for half the cost of the elaborate 360's and 410"s. I would never bag on someone else's equipment because I'm not an immature jerk. But if you feel better knocking someone else's stuff, have it tough guy. No sweat off my back.

      @@eagle_706_racing I feel the same. Unsatisfied. I asked what/where you're racing this. You finally answered (I guess) Never heard of either. So I looked them up.
      Weird rules. Aluminum LS 5.3 legal. Cast Iron 350 is too? I don't get it. If racers want an affordable sprint car. Why not a 604 Aluminum Heads, High rise intake, Holly 4 barrel Alcohol Carb and a *STEEL CRANK for $8,500?* A Knoxville restrictor plate PACE CT-525 is $16,500 with a *CAST CRANK* Resale value is shit.
      No way LS is the free will future. Only places who run them *FORCED* them to run them. I'm asking a second time. How can your manifold flow = 8 injector stacks???
      BTW Brand New 2021 Salina Aluminum 410. Brodix block, All-Pro, Kinsler Dragon Claw, CNC matched, 900+ HP $41,500 pan to stacks w/ oil tank.

      @@raymond3803 If you would of worded it as such instead of acting and making comments in such a negative manner then this could have been done in a more respectful way but you start of by saying how ugly the motor is and this and that. First of all I NEVER said it's better in any way. I simply said it's the way of the future primarily because finding unmolested blocks is getting harder and harder. I also never said it flows better but we are running mechanical injectors and have great flow through 102mm throttle body and individual venturies simulated with this type of manifold. If you're old school I'm down with that too but I certainly wouldn't jump right out of the box with the insults like you did. I have more respect for people apparently then you do being so closed minded
