This is far from a complete list of parts subject to inspection. However, the specialists cope with the task in a matter of minutes. Everything is ready for takeoff. The commander and navigator take their places. We distract Ekaterina for a while to find out where the girl got such a craving for conquering the sky.

- Of course, yes, there is no other way to come here. Perhaps you have noticed that the wing is small relative to the fuselage. It is small and because of this, it requires special skills from pilots. My main goal now is to move to the front cockpit, to become a commander of the aircraft."

- То есть с самого детства к небу тянуло?
- Конечно, да, по-другому сюда не надо идти. Может быть, вы обратили внимание, что крыло - маленькое относительно фюзеляжа. Оно небольшое и из-за этого требует особого мастерства у лётчиков. У меня сейчас главная цель стоит - пересесть в переднюю кабину, стать командиром корабля».

В ходе предполетного осмотра Екатерина проверяет, чтобы на самолете не было подтеков, грязи в соплах, а в отсеке между килями лежали тормозные парашюты. Их наличие проверяется хлопком ладони по обшивке отсека. Если звук глухой - купола на месте.
«Крылья у МиГ-31 небольшие. Это требует от летчика особого мастерства», - отметила Екатерина. Пока девушка летает в задней кабине, штурманской. Но мечтает перебраться в переднюю, командира экипажа.
Тяга к небу у Рахимовой от отца. Тот тоже был военным летчиком и как-то взял шестилетнюю дочку в Москву на показательные выступления пилотажных групп на авиасалоне.
«Мне это понравилось и запало в душу. Так что в небо тянуло с самого детства. А по-другому сюда и не надо идти», - считает девушка. Из-за любви к небу она сменила жизнь в Москве сперва на учебу в Краснодаре, а потом на службу на Дальнем Востоке.
Перед вылетом Екатерина всегда гладит свой самолет.
