- Solo overnight using the BEST CHEAPEST camping gear you can possibly get! When I started out on my wild camping adventures, a lot of my gear was military surplus. Not only is military surplus highly affordable but it’s also made to last against the elements and the terrain! Albeit far from ultralight, it will go further for longer! Surplus items in this video consist of the British Army Basha, British Army Bergen and British Army Goretex Bivvy Bag.

I love my surplus kit. Can’t beat it for durability and value. If you are worried about weight just get fitter 😂👍🏾
Brother in mind 😉 me (Germany, 65) also using the basha and the bivy , MTP. Ok, a different cooking set, but in the end of the surplus works great, better to carry a bit of more weight, but really good to trust in! Regards from Germany!
Great to see you back mate, I was really worried about you after that emotional video. Your videos are some of my favourite camping videos.
Good to see you back
Have to agree. Ive got both ultralight gear and military gear, and I almost always end up bringing the surplus stuff. I like not having to worry about it getting damaged. Dont even notice the weight difference either.
So true. What most people don’t know is that this stuff is made to spec. Huge difference to stuff you buy in outdoor stores where everything is overpriced and falls apart after 10 days of actual use.
Great Gear and Video Man ! I was worried about you after seeing one of your vids a while back i hope you are well my friend !"
you look good sir with a fresh shave 😎 keeping you in my thoughts hope you are doing ok
You cant beat army surplus for quality gear at a reasonable price 👍 i purchase alot of the clothing for outdoorr activities, i habe the army winter sleeping bag and it is awesome and takes up little room in a stuff sack.. Great informative video 👍
Nice vid, short, to the point and says everything you want to say! I love all my military surplus, as you say, it's heavy but it is extremely durable and affordable.
Nice to see Bungees being used, a rare item with Bushcraft/Survival channels nowadays.
Front pocket is also the right size for 2 army mess tins with the folding hexi stove inside. 😉
Nothing quite like a military surplus gear haul!
Still take my Basha to Dartmoor with me, it's never let me down through some horrible weather, cut off the stetcher straps to lighten it up a bit . Might still be heavier than other tarps but it's worth it for the peace of mind.
Great video. I’m a big fan of surplus gear. Great value and quality. Hard to beat really.
Love the military surplus kit cheap lasts forever I just wish the bloody bergen was more comfortable 👍 great video
Hey Mate good to see you. None of my kit is considered "light". My "imported" Redcamp 10'x10' tarp is mid weight. Sleep system is a Klymate air mattress and USGI poncho & liner (ranger roll). Cook set, the BCB folding stove, USGI canteen cup and stove. Pack is an actual "made in Germany" Bundeswehr Jager Alpine. Almost 3 figures but I know it won't let me down. Take care of yourself buddy !
Yep, because it’s military doesn’t mean it’s the best. BUT it’s tried & tested & is often more than adequate for the job. It’s definitely affordable & allows you to get out there
Can’t argue with that
great video, got all of that gear apart from the burgan. good, robust stuff that works and I love noodles too
I'm glad you chose the noodles! Can't go far wrong with army surplus. Always good to see you on your adventures
One of my side pouches is Rats the other side is my Hootchie/Basha
The colder the better 😂😂😂😊
That's all I use if I'm not in my vango tent ,and bivvy bag I couldn't do without
#Respect for for making a great vid with a couple of cracked ribs bro👌👍👊
😂 3, 8 inch nails and a block of Hexi 😂
Where do you buy all your gear from ?
Don't bash the basha.
Pack 😂😂😂
Grow your beard back 😂👍
👍👍👍👋
