One year ago, thanks to this video we found our new hobby - watching travel vlogs!
We were trying to found out what should we do in Kuching and Malaysia before our 2nd trip to Borneo and one year after that we met the girls in person and even took a part in one of their videos!
    Amazing story! :)

Hi ! I’m so glad you’re visiting my hometown, you’ve come at a really great time. The rainforest festival is coming around and food festival is coming around too! So make sure you visit the food festival and also, I really strongly suggest eating at chong chon green noodle, lau ya keng for the pork satay and noodles as well as going to song kheng hai for tea (make sure to try the coconut and sugar cane drink, carrot cake or chai tau kueh and the gong pia ! Which is like a mini bagel with sweet, saucy minced pork inside!) a famous drink we have here is Teh c special and of course you have to try our Sarawak laksa and kolo mee !

Hi guys, welcome to my home town! ok i'm sure u guys can find alot of info about kuching city in the internet [city itself is...mmm so so]...but i just wanna summarize general as a person growing up there, Sawarak is the largest state in Malaysia, so most tourist come for the outdoor activities because of the vast amount of jungles and beaches [and also the foods]...so dont forget to check out mountain hiking Mt Santubong, Damai Beach Resort, kayaking, visit the Iban Long House village [try their rice wine!] to say a few...cheerz

Since you're in Kuching. These are my recommendations!
    F&B:
    1. Try Kolok Mee - the best I ever taste is Kolok Mee Haji Saleh, Satok area. A should visit spot.
    2. Laksa Sarawak - My favourite is Mom's Laksa
    3. Kek Lapis (literally Layered Cake) - there are few famous shops selling it, my favourite would be Mira Cake House opposite waterfront, in a place called Boyan.
    4. Try seafood at Topspot - there are quite a number of stalls there, but my favourite is stall no 25, you both MUST taste the delicious Soft Shell Crab Telur Masin (telur masin is a salted egg) don't let the name doubt you, you'll never regret it. Trust me on this >.<
(ps: do note that all the above food are from my own preference, other opinion might differ ^^)
    Place of interest:
    1. Sarawak Cultural Village - experience all how the locals live from our various tribes, all in one place. As this will be the same location for RWMF, might as well visit this place during that time.
    2. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre - I personally never been here but I always suggest visitors to visit this place. lol. So far the feedback are always good.
    3. Bako National Park - will involve lots of hiking. PLEASE wear shoes. Picturesque views. You guys wouldn't regret it.
    4. Semadang Kayaking & Rafting - You guys can click on the link for details. www.semadangkayak.com/ . Kayaking along a clear river in Borneo. What else can I say, ~_~.
    5. Jong's crocodile farm - as the name implies. Sarawak's nickname is Bujang Senang, coming from the name of the biggest crocodile ever caught. Can google this place to know more.
    6. Sarawak River Cruise - A boat cruise along Sarawak River, dinner will be provided on the boat, depending on which package you get. Drop points are located along the Sarawak River, most popular is Waterfront point.
    7. Puncak Borneo - Another picturesque location in Kuching. Google the image. Ugh dem feels.
    8. Visit museums (if you're into these kind of things) - we have Sarawak Museum, Islamic Museum, Chinese Museum, Cat Museum, one largest museum in Sarawak is currently under construction, unfrotunately.
    9. Pasar Minggu Satok - Weekend market at Kubah Ria. Selling hundreds of local products. Should visit if you have the time.
    10. Local favourite chill spots in Kuching - Kuching waterfront, bing (famous local coffee shop), lepak at vivacity or spring, taman sahabat (friendship garden), Satok uptown (Friday night and Saturday night)
    11. Serikin - a bit far out from the city. about 40 minutes to 1 hour driving, located at the border between Malaysia and Indonesia. Famous location for super duper cheap items. Same items that sell for hundreds in the city, selling for only a fraction of its price. If you bring along your haggle skills, might get a lot more cheaper price. Be extra cautious here for your belonging though. Wear something simple as it is hot as hell here.
    12. (reserved) I know there're gonna be some location I miss. So I'm gonna leave this point here. If other Kuchingites have better ideas/locations, just hit this post up.
(ps: all these locations are within Kuching city or just outskirt of Kuching City. There are other great locations outside Kuching that you should totally visit. Do let me know if you want to know more about them)

Sherif Aziz hai. Betul ka di Kuching susah mau cari halal food & selain Mira cake house ada tempat lain yg best ka utk kek lapis?

    • @sherifaziz2002

eh xdela. byk je kedai halal kt kuching. xyah risau lah pasal halal food. tapi kalau nak btol2 snang cari kedai org kita kt kuching, boleh pegi area satok or petra jaya. kt mall pon byk kedai halal. cuma kalau dh rupa fishy xda org mlayu tu xyahla msok. untuk kek lapis ada bbrp kedai top, slain daripada mira, org slalu gak pegi dyg salhah. pon dkat area yg sama. cuma mcm saya prefer mira sbb kek dia moisture lebih daripada dyg salhah. kalau u suka kek yg x brapa basah n kering skit, boleh pegi dyg salhah. well that's totally my preference k. better u cuba 2 2 or cuba kedai yg sepnjg kt kpg gersik tu. kpg gersik adalah nma kampung yg sederet2 tu jual kek lapis dan ikan terubok masin, another kch's specialty. tehehe
