Theirs was helpful, as later I increase the bowl size. Yet yours was very helpful, same size, and I finally got her to sing a bit for me. Certainly more time will also enhance my arm movement. Thank you again.

Mine makes a really loud sound that goes through me. I unwrapped it, searched for an instructional video, found yours and did it at the same time. I thought the sound was coming from the speaker, it was really weird. I paused it and then realised it was mine, sounds like a bell if I tap it but when I run it round the edge it sounds loud and 'haunting'

I got a singing bowl the other day from Amazon and I watched informational video just sort of like yours but can't get it going anyhow. Nothing I do works mine sure doesn't stay long like that
I just got my 1st brass singing bowl and I'm still working on getting her to sing. I don't have any type of cover on the hammer/wood tool that came with her. Would covering it with cloth or leather help? It seems whenever I begin to rub the bowl with the mallet, that stop all sound completely. I'm at a loss here 🤷🏾♀️
Singing bowls are delicate instruments. My greatest concern is not dropping a bowl from the hand, its a good idea to use it over padded surfaces shown in your video. A sharing from experiences , keeping your bowl from chattering as you sing it requires much concentration. That's a form of meditation too.
The sound of this bowl does not appear to linger because is not a proper one with the right metals and hammering. A good one should carry on making sound after rotation.
you are correct. theyre made of bronze and tin. I guess brass must be cheaper and easier to produce for the masses, because there is a good price difference between them. However it i dont think it matters wholly, because there is also evidence of wooden singing bowls in the past, which symbolized a lack of wealth, and so there is no mandate for what kind of metal a bowl MUST be. the bronze material is just the best that you can get because its designed for sound.
the stick has to be the right sizzle if it’s too big it won’t work well.also try keeping momentum going and test the speed and area of contact to the bowl.youll work it out.

Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us to "invite the bell to sound" rather than "hit the bowl".... a lot less violent

The circular cloth actually soften the sound. Prefer just place on the palm.

As soon as I touch my bowl with the stick after I strike it, it kills the sound almost immediately.
Make sure your fingers aren't touching the sides of the bowl, and use a "swirling" motion. Like you're stirring a cup of tea, but with flair 😊
Thank you. I am doing somewhat better. I try not striking the bowl first and just going around the rim.
