Video taken from my old VHS tape ,which shows Mercedes o404 bus on the tests.In 1996 Mercedes showed most luxury SHD model with first active suspension ,lane asist and adaptive cruise control in bus/coach.

The O 404 appears to share the same design language as the W140 S-Class..not surprised both launched around 1992. Both are not 'cheap' in price & both are top class standard in their respective vehicle types ! Still it managed to sell many hundreds of units to 1 Saudi Arabian coach operator alone who can appreciate fine class coach & willing to pay for it !
I believe O 404 1st coach to use high intensity small round main headlamps, it seemed back then 23 years ago people thinks small headlamps are 'useless' but nowadays small headlamps are becoming the norm instead, irrespective of vehicle makes ! It took the rest of the world 2 decades to catch up ?!?
Actually come to really think of it, the O 404 design is such a timeless classic that i would have preferred they make continual gradual improvements while keeping the original design instead of launching something else different for different sake !
Do it in similar way like the Vario & G-Class i.e. improvements inside over the years in design details, specs etc. but overall keep the design timeless lasting in value !
As a coach traveller, even right now i'll prefer to take a (V8 engined) O 404 SHD over say a Travego (or any others) with only 6-cylinder engine. Even if versus V8 Travego version, the O 404 still shines in the 'basic ways' so it still does not feel inferior despite the age now !
This is the appeal of timeless classic design value ! Also just like on the W140 S 600 car..still a great car after 23 years !

beterbocek muck geldi türkiyeye hatta urfa cesurda bir adet vardi geçmis zamanda fazla kalmadi.

Mercedes Benz Türk, bu otobüsleri Türkiye'de üretmedi, doğrudan Almanya'dan getirdi. Kamil Koç'ta bunlara bindim. Bu otobüslerde V6 motor ve otomatik hız kesici vardı. 403'ler'in V8 motorluları bunlardan daha yüksekti. Bu otobüsler Türkiye'de tutulmadı.

@@zaferavunduk8519 Ülkemize Mengerler alçak olan rhd modelini getirdi. Bunlar v6 olup O304 ile aynı motoru kullanıyordu. V8 motorlu yüksek olan shd, O403 ün satışlarını kesmemek için getirilmedi. O403 tamamiyle O404 ün altyapısını kullanmakla beraber kalite olarak O404 ün iki gömlek altında bir araçtı.
