I had never had tissue migration lips till recently. I had a new filler client. No filler before. Only put .3-.4 in top lip. I do not do Russian. I only make 4 total entry points with fanning. I only inject into pink lip. Don’t overfill and still had migration in a short amount of time. It has never happened ever. Can some clients just be at higher risk for migration outside of the border?
Thank you so much for all of your insight, I am one of those patients that you are talking about in this video, right now. My injecter did the Russian technic on my lips and my filler migrated in my upper lip forming a somewhat new border of white skin. What can I do to fix it without losing the majority of the volume I paid for? My lips looked amazing before the filler migrated now I look hidious unless I am wearing a mask or always wearing my lip color lip liner or full lip color.
The injector I went to did the tenting technique which I specifically stated where I wanted the filler. Shape of my natural lips didn’t need anything, except maybe a dash in the points, but primarily wanted the pillows enhanced. I guess she didn’t really understand me because the border of my upper lip is not what I wanted. Then she injected the white roll to try and fix the right side that flipped too much. Now it’s rolling downwards. So important to find an experienced quality injector.
love it! Would be great to hear from you what "fixes" can you do if you already have that "beak" effect on your upper lip, or you suspect that there's already an upward migration of upper lip HA filler? I saw somewhere that OLD and migrated fillers are more difficult to get rid of? Why is that? I thought just to inject the reversing substance will fix it?
you mentioned that you like volift for lips would you recommend using a combination for example volift for the vermillion border and a more hydrophilic product for volume
Thats a great point of view. Ive been always inyecting right through the V-Border and sometimes the lip loses definition, but sometimes it does not. I feel that the Product viscosity plays a big role here. I love for example Rest Defyne for firmer Lip Tissue, and Rest Kysse for less firmer lips with a lot of pockets. Also the tissue firmnes is so important. Guys Can you make a video about the theory that cheek filler improves the NL-Fold etc...is that really true or is it again a fall from the industry to make us use more product amount? Big Hug from Hamburg.
In my experience, cheek filler absolutely improves the nasolabial fold. Of course some patients want even greater improvement and thus require other modalities.
It depends all on the tissue quality of the lip to decide what kind of filler u use. Restylane Defyne does definetly draw less water than other Lipfillers
@@mauricioceronm.d.351 that makes sense. I had a migration issue recently where a nurse used poor injection technique and overfilled my top lip with volume. My lips looked good before this happened. I had the filler dissolved and refilled with Volbella but it still looks like there’s filler above my lip or that it’s migrating. Do you think I will always have a problem with lip filler moving outside of the border now because this happened? Is it possible to fix this issue? My current injector did not dissolve outside my lip border and I wonder if this is part of the issue. I feel like she thinks I’m crazy when I mention this.
i had lip injections and after getting them dissolved and going to a new person, about 6 months after the injections, the normal colored part of my skin right above my lip line turned to this gradient pink color and I lost the lip line definition completely on the upper right corner of my top lip.... can i ever get rid of this!? its honestly the most bizarre thing and i dont even know if thats migration of lip filler or something else
I had lip filler migration that moved to the side of my lips that was there for 12 yrs...I thought they were laugh lines...it was filler,!! I talked to a doctor she dissolved it!! I don't believe filler ever gos away after this experience! It just migrates!!! My doctor was shocked to witness what she did! It looked as tho I had 2 long parentheses around my lips! I didn't have the "duck lips" it dispersed around my entire lip area into my face making me look older..I feel like when I smiled it caused the filler to push further and further from my lips..I feel like there is not enough research..I feel like since the dissolving strangely even my eyes lifted and I have a healthier glow. I've never had filler in any other areas of my face just my lips. I don't think I will be doing this again knowing lip filler never went away until I had it dissolved from my face 12 yrs after being injected!!!🤦♀️
Another mind blowing video. Thank you! There are so many variables in play. I like the modified Russian technique and like you said if injected more anterior by 2mm might make all the difference.
We would always recommend waiting for the full 2 weeks following any filler treatment to allow the tissues to rest from trauma, bruising and swelling to settle. Most treatments look different after 1 or 2 days post injection and many people have some regret or doubt as the difference can be quite dramatic, your lips will look different again 2 weeks later. So don’t rush into a dissolve until this time has passed. Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim.
If you’ve had a migration problem and get it dissolved and refilled. Will your filler have a propensity to migrate again? Will I always have this duck lip problem! 😭 I got mine dissolved and refilled but I feel like it still doesn’t look right.
Same thing happened to me. I had migrated filler, dissolved it, got fillers again from a different doctor but the migration came back even more :( idk what to do now
Sometimes it can take a couple months for the tissue to close up and heal, best to wait a couple months to refill since filler could go back up to the path of least resistance. I wonder if putting a few smooth pdo threads parallel to the lip border, just above the lip could help prevent migration after refilling?
Anterior usually means front or forward (where as posterior means back). Medical practitioners use these terms because they are more accurate than "front and back"
i just got almost a full 1ml of restylane kysse. it looked great right after i had it done. about 36 hours later the swelling has gone down and there is no difference at all from when before i got them done. i even sent them photo and they agree. i have an appointment tomorrow to let them see in person. where did my filler go?? did my body metabolize it? i did lightly massage and ice my lips, did this make it disappear? what can i do next time to ensure my filler sticks around? lastly, do you not like restylane kysse? that is all they offer at this particular medspa..
Thank you for the informative video! I was recently injected w/ a full syringe of juvederm and in high sight, it was too much and I was left with intense migration. I looked like I had a mustache! I immediately requested to get it dissolved. The injector attributed it to just happening sometimes? She said “it’s not your fault or my fault, migration can just happen for some people.” Is this true? They’ve since dissolved my upper lip and are now telling me a lip flip might be a better option. Is filler out of the question forever because of migration one time? I think I’d be happy with even. 25 next time. Also do you recommend using a different product?
I think it happens when we put too much seller it's like the doctor wants us to get our moneys worth but I think they should sell smaller amounts of filler so they're not compel do use a whole syringe and ultimately have it migrate
So many practitioners do the same technique on loads of people without looking at each persons individual lip anatomy. I did my own lips better than other practitioners. Each time I let somebody else do my lips, they do these drive thru techniques, instead of looking at individual detail. Literally, I do it better myself on myself. They all over fill the v border the same which gives a rubbery duck look. I never did that technique on my lip as my lip shape wasn’t right for that. I was doing Russian lip on myself years ago before it was even a thing. As I aimed to shorten the distance between top lip and nose, feminisation basically… I’ve had to dissolve awful fillers put in by practitioners who made me look like I’ve got rubber tyres under my eyes and on my lips. Omg. So annoying. Lol
I had filler for the first time ever in my life and got 1ml of Juvederm, and then after 2 weeks got wet vermillion border migration on the inside of my lips lumpy both upper and lower. The filler was not in the body of my lip all all but all collected on the inside! When I complained the injector who is a nurse claimed it wasn’t her fault and was the first time this had happened as usually filler migrates when it’s overfilled. My filler didn’t migrate outside the boarder but all to the inside of my mouth. Why is this!? Bad injection technique or product? I think she injected in the middle of the lip. She also made me bruise all the all the way under my mouth. All in all a horrific first experience. Just wanted to know if this is normal or has happened to anyone else!? Would love some advice xx
I think the way in which you apply any skill is built on an underlying philosophy that is worth becoming aware of. If you don't ever ground yourself at that level you can bounce around copying others and being inconsistent and uncertain about what you are doing and why.
Hi Eithar. Thanks for your kind words. The Lip Masters group is for people who've bought the online course, but if you'd like to join one of our free groups, you can check out this one: facebook.com/groups/mindsetaesthetics/ Hope that helps, Miranda
Possibly- though water as a rule would migrate into the filler more than the filler would move to where the water is as it's far less viscous, but there's probably some diffusion.
Thank you so much Dr. Tim! I was the one who posted the article on the group and I appreciate the in depth discussion. This was great.
Hi Megan. I'm so pleased to hear you've found this! I'll tell Tim, he'll be pleased.

Yes this is a very interesting point, I hope you will get a response to this.
Darn no reply! Would love to know his opinion on this too!
I prefer Restylane over Juvederm, what are your thoughts
Love this video! Thank you Tim and Miranda. I look forward to purchasing lip mastery in the future!
We look forward to seeing you in the Private Facebook group 👍
This is really a lesson on ethics tbh I'm glad I heard this in this way.

Are you saying thicker filler is better and has less risk of migration?

Wow! I will never do filler again. Have some that's migrated to the top of my lip corner area. Now I have to go get it dissolved. Never again.
I have the same problem. It's been 7 years since I had filler injected in my lips and it's all above my lip and isn't going away
Also, please do one on some popular semi permanent products like Ellanse!
Another mind blowing video. Thank you! There are so many variables in play. I like the modified Russian technique and like you said if injected more anterior by 2mm might make all the difference.
Can we dissolve lip filler after one day of getting it if you didn't like it ?

I need this man to do my lips
my lip border got soft and mushy after filler, i got my lips dissolved, will my lip border go back to hard and normal?
It should go back to how It was before filler. This can take a couple of weeks.
Kind regards Mary, clinical advisor for Dr Tim
Awesome vid 👍😃
Brilliant, thank you!
Thank you for commenting Sarah, appreciate it, Miranda
I see so much telltale lip filler migration. I see it at the store, office, meetings.... I feel like so many of us get stuck in certain techniques.
I WAS going to get filler Radiesse and now after watching your videos I’m apprehensive because I fell like they May not know what they are doing.
radiuses dissolves within 1-2 weeks and gives more of a natural plump. doesn’t stay stagnant
If you’ve had a migration problem and get it dissolved and refilled. Will your filler have a propensity to migrate again? Will I always have this duck lip problem! 😭
I got mine dissolved and refilled but I feel like it still doesn’t look right.
If you do the same thing, expect the same results- so we must change the product or the injection technique at least.

Do you provide classes?
Hi, more information about practical training can be found here - www.skinvivatraining.com :)
what do you mean by anterior? it would be really helpful to see a demonstration or diagram
Anterior usually means front or forward (where as posterior means back). Medical practitioners use these terms because they are more accurate than "front and back"
More precise* rather.

you got an update?
Exact same problem I’m having
Me always ;(
I have the same problem for 6 times

Probably injected too deep.
What is this, philosophy or aesthetic medicine?
I think the way in which you apply any skill is built on an underlying philosophy that is worth becoming aware of. If you don't ever ground yourself at that level you can bounce around copying others and being inconsistent and uncertain about what you are doing and why.
@@DrTimPearce yes, I noticed that :D I think it makes a lot of sense. Besides, aesthetic medicine is also an art.

couldn’t it also be because HA is attracted to water and it migrates to places where the h2o concentration is higher?
Possibly- though water as a rule would migrate into the filler more than the filler would move to where the water is as it's far less viscous, but there's probably some diffusion.
Okay I love your videos, but the border comment...really? Doesn’t seem very respectful
Agreed. It felt distasteful of them.
that boarder comment left an awful taste
Their sarcasm in general are distasteful with brits lowkey racist

It was fine, stop looking for a reason to be offended
