Using fiberglass is one of the easiest ways to incorporate strength into the repair. 1.5 ounce fiberglass matt (not woven) will allow stresses in the repair be dissipated much better than just using the Pond Shield epoxy alone.
Make sure that the fiberglass is completely saturated with the epoxy and that there are no air bubbles after the application. The fiberglass can be sanded smooth after the epoxy has cured at which point the rest of the surface can be coated and waterproofed.
