- This video reviews the incredible Gransfors Bruk Scandinavian Forest Axe! There is a popular video on UA-cam that claims this axe is great if you can only have one axe. In this video, I put the axe to the test in order to determine its worth. Subscribe for future content created by yours truly :)
I've had one of those axes for nearly 30 years and it's still an excellent tool.
Guy legitimately sounds like Christian Bale doing the Patrick Bateman voice... Which is hilarious given it's a review of an axe.
0:13 is honestly such a creative bit, simply lovely
Thank you sir!
I have 3 gransfors and the scandinavian is the first i bought and my favorite . My second favorite is the american felling with the 31 inch curved handle .
Man, you remind me of and look like Christian Bale in American Psycho....haha. The axe makes it even more so 😁.
Great video, man. I have the same axe and it's my go to favorite. Glad I went with the Scandi over the Small Forest axe. It does split way above it's size and weight.
Thank you so much hahaha, Christian Bale in American Psycho is hilarious. I really enjoy the Scandinavian Forest Axe. Im happy to hear you do as well!
Dude I got 100% Patrick Bateman vibes from this video. Glad I'm not the only one lol
Thanks for the video! My favorite GBA axe :)
Thank you! I really enjoy using this axe
Very good review. I bought one, but haven't gotten it yet. I heard others say it was a great all-arounder.
I just ordered one thanks for sharing your experience definitely seems worth the money if it's somthing that is going to be used on the regular should serve me good around the farm
Awesome! You’re going to love it!
quality review, sealed the deal for me
Thank you eman!
I absolutely love my Scandinavian forest axe and am so glad I chose this as my first gb axe.I went to my local dealer with the intention of grabbing the small forest and I think I still will as I'm sure even if it's not for me I'll be able to sell
what's the point man, the scandinavian one blows it outta the water. Maybe pair it with a kindling splitter hatchet or something
Impressive. Very Nice. Let's see Paul Allen's Axe.
Hahaha, my friends and I love your comment
Nice video!
I have the same Axe (just received for Christmas) from the same maker (BK).
After my first outing, felling 3 standing trees, all less than 6" diameter, and now have 2 significant rolls in the edge. I didn't put the axe into the ground at all, not sure if this is normal or maybe I received a defectively heat treated unit. Pretty disappointed. How is your edge holding up?
Thank you!
I am so sorry to hear that your edge has rolls in it. My axe does not have any rolls or chips as of right now.
The edge is still very sharp. What types of trees were you felling?
I took a pretty significant roll on one of my condor machetes when I struck a trunk of a white pine tree. I later found out that if pine wood is concentrated with lots of resin aka “fat wood”, the wood is very hard and can easily roll the edge on a well hardened tool.
Please get back to me on how Gransfors Bruk addresses the issue. I am very sorry that your axe is rolled
If I didn’t know any better id think that log was kiln dried. I have the Scandinavian forest axe and it is the Swiss Army knife of axes I agree. I wish I could find logs that split that nice here in the north east.
Love the ax
May I suggest you look at the marbles machetes and axes
I surely will! Thank you for the suggestion

Sir, good job!
Thank you!
Wonder how it does on oak?
You need to learn the golf swing. No more picking up logs. Split them where they lay. But, you may not a longer axe. But it makes splitting so much more enjoyable.
Where did you purchase it ?
I purchased this axe from Appalachian Outdoors
but would captain rex use it?
Haha I am sure he would :)
Supernice
Thank you!
A perfectly cut log...
