I just got these a few days ago. Very impressed. This review is excellent! Thank you. I was laughing at the section where you were opening the box, that thing is a nightmare to open lol. And yes, the build is not remotely what you'd expect from something originally priced at 300 bucks.
The Anker adapter DOES works for me plugged into my M1 iPad Pro for recording, listening, and ALSO works with my M1 MacBook Air for listening and even for recording in Logic X. Mind blowing! Thanks for the video!
I am thinking about purchasing this Sennheiser with the Anker adapter for my Samsung S9+. You think it will work on this smartphone? Are you going to upload soundsamples as well? I would love to hear the soundquality with Android (especially with Play store music recording apps and settings that work with this binaural microphone/headphone). Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah great news. Yeah this works on my Note 10 plus. And it sounds just like my friends iphone . I havent uploaded anything yet. Am waiting for another devise. But this Anker adapter is a joy. I left them a very happy feedback review. Good luck creativity is always positive and fun 👍🏽
@@hazel8897 thats not my experience. I took them to a binaural fanatic friend who has remarkable recording equipment and a Sennheiser head. And he said they are recording binaural ,so i bought a few more pairs as gifts. Ive used them on an iPhone 13. and a Samsung s22 ultra with anker adapter and you get the same experience. Thats all i can say
awesome, did you use the anker lightning to USB C adapter, what app are you using to record on-- I just got a set and they work great on my extra iphone, but I use the note 20 ultra as my daily driver. thanks!!!
@@VOByRobbins yes i use Anker lightning to type c connector It work in native camera app. Does not work with sound recording. Or any other app. Expect cameras ones.
I love this headphone. I am very irritated with Sennheiser that they didn't make it with removable cables. That would have been the way to go, especially at the $299 price point I bought my first one at. That's right, first one. It broke about six months later, a short in the cable as you might imagine. The second one was already $199. Still, this is so much fun to play around with. Just before the pandemic struck, I had just started recording audio recordings and had big plans to make a UA-cam channel where I would do audio simulations of how common day tasks are performed by people without sight to try and give sighted folks an idea of how the world around sounds without vision. Oh well, I've rambled enough.
The price point was stupidly high and I wished it allowed other 3.5mm microphones to be plugged in. The closest thing we have now, is the Rode SC-6, but one would need some cable adapters for binaural recording.
Thank you for this video. The Ambeo Smart Headset is a cool product but nothing I would buy. I heard five audio problems in this video at: 14:24,14:31,14:33,14:38 and 15:04 mim:sek. And by the way, I think you would make a great James Bond Vilan ;-)
This might be an option at the $79.00 price point for hearing assist use. With better EQ it could compensate hearing loss particularly for those with a 4K trench from high volume over exposure. I have it coming tomorrow.
you are a great font of knowledge on this product, this is the most in depth review i have seen for this product, i really do appreciate this! Also you definitely deserve an Oscar for that performance.
I've been using these headphones for the last couple of years, only to find the screen message "Accessory Not Supported" come up on my iPhone a few weeks ago. I have tried several phones and they all come up with the same message. I've been in contact with Sennheiser and I'm waiting for a response. Does anyone else have this issue?
“Acessory not supported “ many times means that there is some contact failure.. or the wire is already a bit faulted .. try cleaning the connections thoroughly.. clean the iphone socket also
The product is very interesting and I seriously considered it. However, sense the newor iphones can record in stereo and are louder with a quieter noise floor, I think I am going to hold off until I get my new iphone 12 mini in july or june or whenever. If Amazon still has the ambeo I'll reconsider but, I doubt I'll buy these any time soon. I would like to hear more stereo recordings on these newor iphones first.
Noise Cancellation works when listening to songs from your iOS device. If enabled it has an tremendous effect. Use it everytime on phones. Maybe your device is not working correctly?
I just paid $65 USD on amazon for the black ones, great product on my spare iphone, I use the Note 20 ultra for the daily, any luck on android?? supposedly the adapter works on the ipad pro---
just got the anker lightning to usb c adapter From Amazon today--- I already had the android recording app: "USB Audio Recorder PRO" from Extream Software Dev. and with that, they work like a charm--- controls work too (volume, mute) -- not the record button, sounds as it should--- wow! (I have a Note 20 Ultra) Now to record more-- I'll see how recording works with video!--- cooool-- what a value!!!!
I bought this headset a couple of years ago for making videos with the binaural microphones and it worked well, but now that I no longer have a iPhone I'm having a hard time getting the binaural audio to work. I did get the adapter a few weeks ago but unfortunately it seems that without the apogee software the recording quality is all very flat. It was promised years ago but I haven't seen or heard from it since. :(
I read somewhere that you need a special program for android to use which does not cut the quality. I can't find where I read it, but it seems to me in the reviews on Amazon for these headphones
I understand that the mics locate on the outside of the earbuds but can they record what comes out of the earbuds to help me record calls off of Teams/Zoom meetings? Thanks!
I sw the vid of some guy sitting in fnt of his speakers. Just sitting there. Not really the purpose of these mics. this vid is much better of a review.
@@josuegutierrez9387 Nope. The adapter didn't work at all with the computer. Unfortunately, Sennheiser discontinued any and all development into the Ambeo, and you're stuck plugging them directly into a Lightning port.
The anker adapter recommended by Sennheiser / Apogee does work, this info is not correct. At least it works with apple devices, don't know about android
I've used a Ugreen adapter with my Poco F1 phone, and it worked. It seemed only to work in mono on my other phone (Mi 9T). It also worked with my DJI Action 2 camera (connected via the Ugreen adapter to the camera's USB-C port).
I didn’t have that experience. Try cleaning the lightning connector on both your phone and the Ambeo. Try a different audio player app on your phone to see if that makes a difference. If that doesn’t work, ask for a replacement since the only remaining option is that it’s faulty.
Just noticed that today on my pair (a couple years old at this point) has developed that issue.. the right is louder than the left. I have a brand new pair that I swapped and it had no issue.
I don't know whats so shocking. My Galaxy Note 10+ already records with stereo microphones..... the only difference is these headphones have the mesh and resist winds and stuff better...
Just got a pair of these on EBAY for just 35€! It seems like nobody wants these. All the better for folks like me😁

I, love them!

it only records audio on one side though making it not binaural. is there a way to fix this?

Bought it on ebay and it's the best, even did audio for a short film with this.
I almost forgot. There's one other device sorta similar. I think it's called the Hook Audio and uses Bluetooth for connection.

hi. this headset does work with iphone 12?
Yes
You should do something about this mains hum of yours.
I’m pretty sure for this video I was using a tube mic. That would explain the hum.
