the Gibb brothers brought me such joy! No one . else could even come close.....Thank God for sharing your world with all of us!!! Barry I'm so sorry for you're pain and loss of your brothers💙💚 May the good Lord richly bless you in all you do!! shannon
Incredible! Superb job that only a fan would be able to compile!! Such delight to listen to The Longest Night and Paradise... So rare! A pity it was only a portion. I really enjoyed the commentaries you included. Surprised to know that Living Eyes is so highly considered. I love that album, but I was under the impression that it has been tremendously unrated, even by the brothers!
It would be great if Barry performed Wish you were here if he does a concert in the future, I Know it may be tough because of the emotion with all of his brothers now gone, but I think it would be a great tribute.
I'd be surprised if that ever happened. Barry was very protective of that song even though he co-wrote it with both his brothers (or possibly just Robin , I'm not 100% sure). In any case, one of the reasons he and Robin didn't speak for the last few years until Robin was quite plainly terminally ill was that Robin sang it once in a solo concert and dedicated it to both Andy AND Maurice. Truth is Robin was much closer to Maurice than Andy and the reverse was true of Barry. I think Barry was closer to Maurice than Robin was to Andy though. That seemed to be the weakest link among the brothers based on things both of them said. No doubt they loved each other as brothers but Robin didn't have much patience with Andy's immaturity and Andy said he didn't understand half of what Robin said most of the time. That's why I found it odd that Andy was living with Robin at the time of his death. It was a miserable experience for them both.
Excelente compilación, para mí totalmente desconocida . Gracias por subirla.Saludos Cordiales desde Buenos Aires , Argentina. Rosana María de los Milagros Marchese . 22 de agosto de 2018
I was there in Kiel, only time they performed that song...think it was too hard for them to perform that song after such a short time after Andy's death.
The longest night segundo dizem foi tocada em rotterdam na passagem de som (eu não acredito pela qualidade do som e por ter sido inteiramente e perfeitamente tocada).
I think it would have been really hard to achieve the sound standart in the odessa song outside the studio. But it defenitlly sad they didn't perform it later, even in a medley
Robin Gibb called the Living Eyes album a "turkey" not long after it was put out. Also, check out the "Gibb Songs" website by Joe Brennan to get a good account for why the album doesn't work, your Facebook group's opposite consensus notwithstanding. You ever wonder why the Bee Gees didn't record another album together for 6 years after that?
Because everyone said the same: Hey Barry , Robin and Maurice , your music and album are.. a good stuff.. but.. not commercial. People aren't going to buy this. Get out of my office. My group is GSI from FB
The Bee Gees gathered in 1981 with the best musicians to record Living Eyes.. the worst album (according the Bee Gees) was Life in a Tin Can. We did some surveys about Living Eyes and everyone on Facebook during the years repeated the same, the album is fantastic and the emphasis goes to the beautiful ballad 'I Still Love You' and Paradise and Wildflower'. Even 'Heat of the Night' which never was released, was cited by many fans. Now, em terms of Single release.. Living Eyes was the worst! They released He's a Liar (????) instead of beautiful songs like Paradise or Living Eyes. I saw this affirmation on a website, but If you listen to that album... You will agree, it is one of best albums of history. Thank you for your comment here!
I just did a new public survey right now on FB with the largest Bee Gee group. The best which was commented: Still Waters, Living Eyes and Odessa. The Worst: HIGH CIVILIZATION (Most cited than other)
He's a Liar was something different than what they had been doing. An attempt to go in a different direction. It was also different from anything else on the Living Eyes album, which was more or less an attempt to re-create the Streisand "Guilty" album, except with the 3 brothers singing instead of Barbra (at least that's what I think Barry was trying to do). It all failed, though. The single and the rest of the album. Quite frankly, it confounds me that any fans rate this album so highly. And they often do!
Wish you were here......yes

Odessa yes.......
Holy shit they sang Odessa live??
Also it sounds a lot like Robin's "Janice".
Robin wrote both songs.
I would have loved to see that live.
Por favor, poste essa versão de Paradise!

tem que ter parte dois e parte três
Living Eyes is considered by many longtime Bee Gees fans, myself included, to probably be their worst album!

You are right! Why did they release He's a Liar when there were much better songs on the album?
He's a Liar was something different than what they had been doing. An attempt to go in a different direction. It was also different from anything else on the Living Eyes album, which was more or less an attempt to re-create the Streisand "Guilty" album, except with the 3 brothers singing instead of Barbra (at least that's what I think Barry was trying to do). Living Eyes probably didn't do well because of the disco backlash. I love it because they finally got away from the relentless falsetto.
