Thank you for watching my videos! This channel is dedicated to animal education and improving the lives of captive animals.
Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My UA-cam channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

I'm 19 weeks pregnant watching this video... And my baby started kicking like crazy! So I paused your video and called my significant other into the room to feel baby. He totally stopped... A few minutes later I started your video again and now he's going crazy again 🤣 Pretty sure my baby boy likes your voice! ✨️
Oh gosh I think thats the sweetest thing I've ever been told on UA-cam. 💕
A lot of petubers forget about livestock I’m glad you made this video thank you.
Im permanently SUPPORT you
Me too!
So glad I found your channel...that answered my questions for my new 4 mo old babies 🐔 who are starting to lay & want to do it everywhere but the coop! Sweet teaching! Thank you 😊!
Great video!
Love your channel
Even though i don't keep chickens, this video is funny and lovely.
My chickens huddle up in a corner in the run and I have to physically move her into the coop. I can't free range do to a abundance of owls and hawks.
My chickens do the same thing, but I’m trying to train them to walk up the ladder.
I’m concerned about predatory birds too. I bought some bird netting (to cover plants) and spread that from the eve of my house over my chicken run. I’ve heard bright, flashy, moving objects will discourage predatory birds too, so I thought to simply twist some strips of aluminum foil randomly through parts of the netting. I’ve had a hawk perched on a power pole staring down into my run, but he hasn’t made a dive for it yet so I think the netting might be working.
Mine do the same thing & I have to move them into the henhouse at night. Im worried i may not be able to change thier habbit.
I've loved this series I ddont keep chickens and I'm allergic to eggs but I've learned so much
Hmmm...I didn’t realize chickens needed to be trained for their coops. Neat
Great Video! Why did you remove the cement blocks in the center?
Nice information
Just subscribed your channel
Hi
I love you
Ugh I envy you owning chickens, can't wait til I have my own property so I can rescue some!
Hey Meghan I’m a subscriber and I watch all of your videos and I was wondering if you could make a day in your life including feeding and cleaning. Thank you. xxx
good boy chicken
You’re so pretty
in what way
Do you put food and water in the coop?
How long do it take for giuneas to lay eggs
Is it still easy to train if there 8 weeks
I'm new to chickens and ours will be out in 3 weeks. Our coop has a sliding door separating the nest boxes. Do I keep this closed until they are ready to lay eggs (a few months) and then open it up? Do you need to close the nest box door ever once they are older?
Hi..I have a rooster and chicken that has a coop now but I want to move them to a different coop is this possible
I’ve got one hen that I raised. She always stayed in the coop and would roost with the rooster. The passed two weeks she wants to stay out and roost who knows where. Any suggestions?
I’m thinking of starting a small hobby farm and you seem to have a lot of animals and knowledge, I was wondering if you know what animals goes well with alpacas? Such as ducks, chickens or even peacock? I have read on the internet but I can’t really find anything, If you recommend keeping them apart that will be no problem, just a bit more work with putting up fences and such :)
You can keep any of those animals with alpacas. You can also keep goats or sheep around alpacas, but they do carry parasites that can be harmful to alpacas so you need to make sure to have them wormed and treated before they are together.
love your channel
and one more thing this is not related to chickens but can you recommend me high-quality dog food
She has a video on this she does not like kibble and feeds her dogs raw but nutro is one of the best kibble brands my dog likes the lamb one
@@beanythompson1460 thanks
My first two flocks knew how to do that but my last flock rather want to sleep on the porch
How to take care chik
All I did was keep them for 6 months in the coop and now they free range. sometimes they go into the duck coop but at least they lock up at night. Did you build your coop or buy it? I've never seen one that big for sale.
My chicken used to sleep in her coop but now she wont, why?
Can I confine them to the hen house for like a week.
I have 100 chickens I want to free range but I don’t want thin running away or getting hurt any tips
what about if half of them roost on the roof of the coop?
My chickens refuse to sleep in the coop, and leep sleeping on the ground inside the run, ive tried everything.
Are your chickens just pets or do you eat them to?
Help my mama chicken went to the coop but did not take her babies now they don't know what to do and they are wild we can't catch them😢
My chickens are around 23 weeks old I have never had any problem with my other chickens or bantams going in yet these bantams keep getting in the trees to sleep.
Bantams are a pain in the butt to teach where to roost. You need to stop them from going into the trees immediately, or you will never be able to stop it.
@@HappyTailsAnimals I agree with you on that! With our two we have a cockerel and hen she tends to follow him into the trees where I have to fetch them each night and put them in the coop. We have tried many things. Shutting them inside for a few days, feeding them inside, shutting the cockerel in early so the hen hopefully follows and your method too. I'm still to find a way to keep them in, they are still young so I have my fingers crossed they with learn soon. :)
We're considering getting chicken and i just wanna know if it's worth it. Is it cheaper owning chicken or just buying the eggs in the store?

You should get more than one as they are social animals
What is your personal favorite and least favorite chicken breed?
my chickens are so dumb they refuse to go into the coop unless i confine them to just the coop for 1-2 weeks
The lady who had my birds before me was so good at teaching her chickens to sleep in the coop that I cannot get them to go out and forage in thier yard. Wtf.
Dont need music hard to hear.
U r so beautiful
