Pretty awesome of you john! Also one tidbit, when using a torque wrench need to grab it by the handle. I learned that hard lesson a few months ago when I split a few flair nuts installing a mini-split on the shop. Choking up on the handle causes an over torque situation.
That was an amazing and generous thing that you've done ! I've only recently subscribed to your channel and binged watched most of if not all of your videos and even though I am unable to do most of what you do I've learned a lot from them and even gotten a good laugh or two from them !!
This is all very kind of you. I hope this works out the way you dreamed. Handing her $2500 is risky. She will have a lot of outside pressure to spend that money in ways that we’re not intended. In any case, you will be blessed for your kindness.
Kinda late to the party, but heat kills those Nissan CVT transmission’s. Installing a transmission cooler helps these transmissions function a lot longer. An in-line filter wouldn’t hurt either.
Let's see, this was awesome for several reasons: * Gave away a car to a young person who needs it, but could not afford to buy one. * Kept the Rogue from getting scrapped, which saves energy and materials. * Created some educational video content about replacing a Rogue transmission. * Inspired others to take on similar projects. Bravo sir!
Another great video. Be aware when torquing small bolts like that (or any bolts I suppose), that when you choke up on the torque wrench handle, you will get a false reading, you will end up over torquing the bolt. Most times you will get away with it, but I didn’t get away with recently on a glow plug swap when I was aiming for 11ft/lb’s and I snapped off a new glow plug in the head. I always thought that torque is torque, i/e equal at all points on a lever, and that’s true in the maths sense, but the design of the torque wrench, where the pivot point is not in the centre of the bolt, it means that unless you hold the handle of the torque wrench in the correct place at the end, you will be getting a reading lower than the actual amount of torque you are putting into the bolt. I’ve been torquing bolts for twenty years and only just found that out.
That is incorrect. The torque setting inside the mechanism does not care how the required force is applied, once it reaches the set torque it trips. All that changes when you grip up or down the handle is how much force you have to exert to move the lever a certain distance. The further out on the handle equals less force but also less travel. The closer in to the fuldrum point requires more force which equals further travel.
@@inkman996 you're wrong. I don't blame you, I've been wrong for 20 years. Search for the video on youtube "Why GRIP Position on Torque Wrenches MATTERS!" by "the bike sauce". It explains it easier than I can in words.
My guess, it has to do with the way you make a twisting motion with your fingers or wrist, rather than just pulling one way. A lot of times when you're spinning a wrench you'll pull on the tail and push on the head, or push in the opposite direction with your thumb. (edit) I'm wrong lol. Went and watched that "Why Grip Position on a Torque wrench matters" video you mentioned. For some reason all the replies have been deleted, but it makes a lot of sense. There's a ratio of distances between a) the pivot point of the handle to the bolt head, and b) the total length of the handle from pivot to grip position. The actual force experienced by the "clicker" is not the actual force experienced by the bolt, so there's a calibration that needs to happen between those two. Decreasing the grip length and increasing the force proportionally doesn't work because of that offset. It's like, just because 1 degree celsius is 34 F, that doesn't mean that 2 degress C is 68 F.
Good job selling the car for $1 rather than gifting, hopefully avoids any gift tax or related complications. You've done a great thing and so generous!

John, you are a special person. People like you make me believe there is hope for the human race. Farmer are different breed.
Nice job John. Nice to help someone in need. Love the Channel. Greatings from Holland.
Good job selling the car for $1 rather than gifting, hopefully avoids any gift tax or related complications. You've done a great thing and so generous!
I really love seeing this. Thanks to you and the community there is a lot of good that came from this.
Fantastic stuff John. You are part of the minority of genuinely good people left in the world. You have made such a difference to that girls life along with everyone who watched it happen! Such an inspiration. Well done
