Hopefully your all sorted now 👍🏻 the bits on the pickup pipe can be down to lack of maintenance on the cam follower. Remove the high pressure fuel pump ( 10 mins ) and check the follower and condition of the lobe on the cam. Bang a new genuine vw follower in while its off.
@@usuallybrokencars my friend's edition 35 has that engine. so far we replaced the cam follower, maf, dip stick (likes to fall apart) and definitely quality oil changed around 5k the 8k in the manual is a joke.
Definately worth the change considering the way it looked when you took it out!
I think it will make all the difference
Haha mate, you looked nervous at the end so I’m delighted it all went so smoothly. Great judgement buddy.
I was lol. Thought it was going to die lol

Thank you
Nice easy fix for you mate

Thanks Andy will definitely do that next!
Well done Mikey, as Andy said in his comment it's probably the cam follower for the hpf pump breaking down that's caused that.
Best get one one order!
Ahh the good old VW pickup, just as we thought. Glad you got it sorted.
You and me both!
Nice to see a bit more mechanical that I can learn from and I'm glad even mechanics get nervous on the first run 😅
Ha always mate!
This often kills 1.8T tt’s so worth doing
Similar job? is it as easy as this?

You should've changed the oil filter
The oil filter was changed about 50 miles prior. I couldn't see the benefit
@@usuallybrokencars oh sry i didnt know that
Not a problem matey, you can see that video on my channel as well as the rest of this series!
Nice easy fix. What’s the next item on the list?

Classic fault. Hopefully all sorted now? That sump was gleaming when you’d finished with it.
