I just installed these shades (top down bottom up versions) and just wanted to say thanks for this video! They were very easy to install, snap in, and remove (I wanted to adjust the spacing of a bracket and was easily able to remove the shade, fix, and put it back). I'll be ordering more for my other windows - super happy.
Received my shade from FedEx and had it up all within 30 minutes. Wish you would have showed a video on how to use the white brackets for my cellular shade. Also, would be nice to have 2 clip-on handles instead of just one; makes lifting a little easier. Overall, I am satisfied.
Hi Jenna! I apologize that you're missing a few pieces to complete your order, please email me at mark.anderson@selectblinds.com with your order number and brief description, I'll be happy to help out! Thanks for commenting!
I have spent about 2 hours trying to install a shade with 3 brackets, made sure they are all aligned, it's takes a lot of pressure to get all 3 on apparently.
They act like this is so easy and fast. I eventually installed the blinds, but it was a time consuming pain in the rear end and hated every moment of it.
I just got my shade yesterday. The brackets went up easily, yet snapping in the shade is not working. Getting all three brackets to 'snap in place' seems impossible.
Was able to install based on these instructions, but it should be mentioned that for the remote control shades, you need to program the shade BEFORE putting it up to link it to the remote.
I installed the first shade in my office and it has worked like a charm these past few months, so I got a second one for my bedroom window. Came back here to watch the video to remember how to install it....and am glad I commented on the thing I wouldn't have remembered to do this time around. 🤣
Installed these today. The instructions that came with it said to pre-drill using a 3/32" drill bit which I did. But that was way too small compared to the size of the screws supplied. Was too hard to get the screws in so I had to drill bigger holes. I found out after (from the BobVila site), "If you are creating a pilot hole for a screw, the drill bit should be the same size as the body of the screw-not including the threads." SelectBlinds needs to correct their instructions.
The manual shows 2-½" spacing on the side in one picture (inside mount diagram on pages 3), and 3" in another diagram on page 2 for "bracket installation". You should get those two to be consistent, or mention that inside mount specifically wants a different measurement from the side of the window wall.
I just opened up the box of my Allen and Roth Cordless Cellular Shades in Linen. I have put up many blinds in my lifetime, but I could not figure out for the life of me in which direction the brackets went. What made it worse was that there WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS in the box. I looked at two videos on UA-cam. The first video showed a man installing the brackets from a distance without a close-up of the direction of the brackets. The second video showed a woman putting up brackets for the same product that look nothing like the brackets that came with the shades. Since I don't want to make a mess with the installation, I'm going to have to hire my handyman to do it for me.
I just received my Select Blinds Cellular shades, but the mount is different than shown in this video, and I can't for the life of me figure out which end is the top and how it is supposed to be oriented....
When there are no instructions or the bit size is not specified, I hold the screw below various drill bits until I find a drill bit that is similar in size to the screw's center and allows me to see the screw thread beyond the bit's width. This helps to avoid drilling too large of a pilot hole. For anchors in drywall, I choose a drill bit size close to but smaller than the anchor width so I can use a hammer to tap it into the wall without the anchor bending.
I have some of their older shades I'm trying to put back up. Good luck in putting back up a longer shade, as you'll need about 3 people to do it! Ugh! Took me forever! 😬😬😬
And you need to really hone in your focus closer in your videos as to just how the shade is supposed to "click into" the brackets because although you seem to make it look simple, it is NOT.
I have brackets fron 2/2024. Can you update your instructions please? I CANNOT snap the blinds in. I’ve installed so many over the years , but these simply do not fit the bracket. The back rail lip does not reach the bracket protrusion that it is supposed to catch on. So I have $400 blinds I can’t use. None of your videos show this style nor troubleshooting nor closeups of what anyone is doing. They all conveniently skip the snapping in part with any detail or closeup of the clip and bracket.
i also had problems snapping mine in but i found if you reach behind it and gently push the little flap out and push up, it'll snap in, at least it did for me.
need new video, brackets have changed. So many videos are outdated. If you care to keep your business, keep removing old stuff to reduce customer support pressure and returns or regreful purchases.
you don't have any videos that show updated brackets and my brackets are seriously impossible to snap in. I have installed a zillion blinds and these little lightweight blinds should be a snap literally but the brackets are horrible and I cannot snap them in. I chatted with a customer service agent online and she asked me to send her a picture of what brackets they sent me!!! Really??? Shouldn't they know that. I am so frustrated and angry that I ordered from this company when there are a zillion out there.
Please give us a call at 888-257-1840, chat at SelectBlinds.com or email customercare@selectblinds.com and we will be happy to help get your blinds fixed or replaced. Thanks!
Tried to mount these cellular shades but wound up with brain eating amoeba. Would not recommend attempting to snort these or use as tissues. Posting from hospital bed. God bless. 10/10
Select blinds sucks. Do not buy from them. The brackets are all designed terribly. Look up other videos on UA-cam of people complaining about the terrible design of the brackets and how it’s impossible to snap the blinds onto the brackets. You will never be able to put the blinds up and you’ll waste your $$$. Buy somewhere else.
Luke, I apologize that you are having some troubles with the brackets. Oftentimes, the brackets are screwed in too tight for the clip to catch on the ridge on the head rail of the blinds. Try loosening the screws slightly, then try to snap it into the brackets.

Thanks for the video! When I saw the way too much detail instruction booklet that the shade came with, I headed straight for UA-cam. Easy!
I second this!
These blinds went up without a hitch, (so far) three up, 6 to go! Looking good and great quality!
What drill bit did you use for the pilot holes? In the past mine were too thin and then getting the screws in was very difficult.
Thank you. My blind fell out of the track and it's been years since I've had to remember how it goes in. This helped.
Thank you!! I wasn't the one to Instal these types of blinds, big help.
Just purchased and have had no issues installing. Good call on the informational video! Here's hoping they last long!
Thanks for letting us know, Eric! Awesome!

I never used screwdriver. I bought one and afraid to use and making hole too big. How do I know I am not making loose hole.
What size pilot hole should you drill?

It's a little more than "hanging a picture" lol....but none the less for these cellulars..super easy
The frame around my windows are not made of wood but steel or some other kind of metal.
Are there cellular shades for this type of window?

Having the same problem. I've installed many cellular blinds. These are not snapping in. Purchased 08/24
Great video! The only thing is that we moved and we now need the brackets shown in the video. How can we purchase them? Thanks!

Mine are now on the floor. I can’t believe the brackets don’t work. So frustrated.
I can't find anywhere where it discusses how to remove the blinds after they have clicked in place.
At the end of the video it says to push the headrail backward and rotate the rear of the headrail downward.
cool tattoo
Doesn't include how to put the end caps on the shade
Different bracket than what I got. Viewers. Don't use the provided screws
The provided screws are terrible. Flat head screws are the way to go.
Thanks for this feedback on the mounting hardware we use. We'll forward this to our manufacturing department and see if we can up our game.

Thanks Luke. I was about to order a roll down shade from them---now I won't.
Are these cellular blinds cleanable?
