I have no idea how I stumbled onto this channel/producer but I’ve watched a few vids and you’re a cool dude. Just something about you seems so lovable. Thanks for working hard to make the music that we party to!
I was thinking about that, even here Moz I play Afro house with quite a few genres. I Collab with a few DJ's who really have afro house down (new thing to me (DJ Sunbird))
My inner child screams: “NOOOO, don’t change your iconic style!!!” My mature self whispers confidently: “It’s ok, afro is too tame for him, he’ll get bored soon and go back to his hype mood in no time!”
Lets go! Its great to see you mix Afro and Tech House! I've been doing sets of the two genres mixed together for a couple months now! So much great talent out there in the Afro house scene!
20 year cycle coming back around, in the early 2000s everything was what we called Tribal House at the time. Same but revised. Check out records from Superchumbo from that era... they are pretty cool.
Dude I dig it… kinda reminds me of Mambo brothers. Love tech house, love the magic builds of the Afro house with tech… massive emotional builds, love it man
Love the Afro House x Tech House combos. I've been watching you for a while now, because I enjoy your content, and your mixing abilities. Keinemusik are my favourite DJ's, so seeing you incorporate Afro House sounds into your own remixes is really cool to see. Would love to see more remixes like these!
The track you played on your laptop in the hotel room in Atlantic City.....just DAMN!!!! Absolutely killer! Can't wait to hear the final edit and be able to download and use in some of my sets. As always you are a visionary when it comes to thinking WAY outside the box and not being afraid to just "be you" and do create what you think might sound good. (And it always does).
I love this dude, I'm 52 and over the years the genres become a major laff. Glad to hear you're willing to morph and care a lot about the actual music more than as DJ tools. Mad respect, it's fun to see the vlogs. More power.
I blend afro house with organic and deep house. I've usually seen stuff like that through Anjunadeep, but for my sets, I'm usually doing that as part of ecstatic dance events. Stoked to hear some of the Afro beats you drop! May have to fire off something I'm working on.
As an EDM Producer myself, I always say do whatever style or mashup of styles your heart tells you to. It’s your ART. Love the new songs! -ShockWorld 🔥⚡️🌎🔥

Just Do as you feel James! The labels Afro and Tech House and all other labels have huge overlaps anyway, you know this... DJíng is a creative journey that does not stick to labels, genres, etc.. I like the mixes! First one especially! Keep it up mate!
AFRO HOUSE, AMPIANO… “This is the way”… side note as someone who ironically fell in love with the Afro house genre when Drakes More Life came out in 2017 it’s interesting hearing that he’s just now listening to Afro House for an extended period of time of time.
Hi James. I don't know if you are going to read this or not but I'm a fan of your work and also a fan of afro house. I listen to djs like black coffee, djeff, danni gato and breyth for a while now. My suggestion is that you can speed up the beat
brooo, you should collab with Chemical Surf guys from Brazil, they're doing a type of afro house that matchs with what you're doing, they've been gone for sometime as an option, they lock themselves on the studio and started a different style for their project, but they're back now

i think you're great and find the whole channel entertaining but to answer your question - A good artist is always growing, so whatever you create is you. Go ahead and try out any sounds that feel right and go with it. You'll find the more you expand your horizons, the better your music will become. I especially enjoy when you talk through the production side because I'm an old DJ that's new to production and trying to soak in everything I can from folks like yourself. Cheers!
Tech house stayed pretty relevant for years. Probably started listening to it late 2015 but I’d say it’s more commercial sound we have now probably started in 2016/2017. Fisher went solo leaving cut snake behind. Chris Lake was dropping banger after banger. Probably spent the whole summer of 2017 falling into the tech house rabbit. It out lived big room, electro house and progressive house which probably was relevant from 2010-2015 then trap, deep house, tropical house, future bass sort of took the spotlight in the middle of decade then tech house took over and covid really blew up it’s popularity when we were are stuck inside. When everything opened we finally got to see our favorite DJs play their tracks live and we got an influx of new tech house DJs who used their lockdown time to produce and DJ. Techno also gained traction during that time. Drum and Bass is for sure the next genre that is going to get commercialized next. We’ll probably get a new house sub genre piggybacking of that success.
TECHHOUSE AND AFRO HOUSE PLAY WELL TOGETHER, YOU’LL BE FINE. YOU MIGHT EVEN PLAY WITH SOME DARK TRIBAL SOUNDS OR BOOMBAP TO TIE IT ALL TOGETHER. CHEERS!
I love the Afro house stuff, only problem for me in a club setting is the drops never kick for me, they just kind of settle back into the same beat! So if you are combining Afro house with some drops that actually get you going then I think that will be sick!
bro this remix really reflects your soul🔥 I would definitely like to hear more experiments with other genres, I'm sure if you wrote something with broken rhythms, drum and bass or trap, I would want to play it in my playlist🔥🤘
One thing the best Afro house tunes do in my opinion is have the piano’s melody also hit hard on the drop and keep the emotion going. That could work to add more to the Drake remix! 13:19
Nineties oldskool would be perfect,I know you've already done a bit of that in some of your sets but a full 2 hour set of James hype piano oldskool classics with your twist would be sick 🔥🙌🙌
