    Thanks for the info. I see more benefits in the 12ft over the 14. Unless like you said you’re hauling equipment all the time but it doesn’t look like that big a deal to lift the bucket over the front. And you you really don’t have to worry about over loading it just filler up.
    The 14 you can get yourself in trouble loading wet dirt if your not careful. Thanks for the video.

    I’ve been looking into 3 brands of trailers. Lamar, IronBull, & Load Trail. All 3 in the 7’x12’ with 24” sides. Sadly, I have to drive to hell & back for 2 of the trailer venders. Load Trail is more local. 7 & 10 gauge steel, 12 & 16” spacing for supports. 8” I beams. All USA made parts. But damn are these a whole lotta coin! Love your vids!

    Prices are up I just paid 9500 out the door for a 6 x11 carry on trailer that is very cheaply made. Keep up the good videos.

    I dont think moving those cylinders is going to give you more height. I feel like it will give you less. I'm interested to see now.

      There are three holes when it’s up I’m in the highest hole if I go to the lowest it should push it up a few more inches which should give me a steeper pitch I think have to see.

      @@WorldsOkayestFarmer maybe, I just dont think its gonna work. If it does make it go up more I dont think it will stow fully. I looked at the dirt ring on the piston and it looks like it's pretty well fully stowed when down. So if its moved to the next hole or two feel like its gonna bottom out on the piston before it's down. Maybe it's just how it looks in the video. Make another video of changing it over.

      @@bucksgarage1I would have to agree, moving it to that third hole is actually further away from the cylinders, therefore, keeping it from going up further

    You already have your cylinders at the highest lift setting.

      Gary Mccarver i think the most fwd hole is the highest setting i would have to lift the bed to get it to it.

    There are 2 different types of dump trailers, are regular profile and a low profile. The low profile has the dump box closing between the frame rails versus regular profile setting on top of the frame rails when the bed is down. The low profiles has the back of the dump bed closer to the ground when raised all the way up. From the video I couldn't tell what yours is, but my 16ft looks to have more clearance when raised not much but a little more with a 2ft longer trailer.
    The bottom of the bed is usually 4 inches lower to the ground on low profiles when the is down. The low profiles are good if you hual equipment a lot making loading easier, but dumping harder if you are trying to dump a pile its not high enough.
    On the ram cylinders it looks like the front of yours needs to be raised. That would help get them off the axle and should gain a inch or two on the lift. Look on both trailers the the bottom of the cylinders are mounted. The 12ft looks the be higher into the frame. Just remember the angle has to be right or it want lift it will just push straight back and break things.

      I just bought a new 12ft load trail, first load and it broke where the ram mounts to the frame, not braced right.

    Whether you have a spindle hook or a ball if you can back one up and hook it up you should be able to back one up. A ball hitch I simple just because you cant get it on first hit dont knock it.

  • @rcook2364
    @rcook2364 3 роки тому

    If your pistons are bottomed out, you'll actually lose height, but you'll gain ground clearance in the back end.

    I hate pintle hitches because of the slop. If you happen to get the name of the device your friend used to help with that, please pass it along. I think the 6'x12 foot is a good all around trailer for most people because it is lighter. Most people don't have a class A CDL to be able to tow the 14k gvw. I do not think moving your cylinders to those other holes will give you any more height- I think it just makes it easier for the rams to lift. Neat video!!

      DeHaven Family Farm thanks for the input about the cylinders my buddy brett says the same thing only more worried about when the dump bed is stowed. The 12ft is 14k gvw also but manufacturers will put a 10k data plate on them to keep you out of trouble

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer

      DeHaven Family Farm it’s called a hitch tightener they sell them on amazon for $15 it will help with any hitch it takes a lot of the slop out of the hitch itself. You still will have some banging with pintles but it helps a lot

      you cant be over 26000 combined truck and trailer also you can have the trailer de rated to stay at the 26000 lb max. i have a ram dually gvw 14000 so i get my trailers down rated to 12000 so i am not over.

    Great comparison! Is a 6x10 or 7x12 better for a F150?

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer
      @WorldsOkayestFarmer  4 місяці тому +1

      Well It depends on what you’re hauling. You can still overload a F150 with a 12ft I would go with the 12’ and not overload it for that truck. The 10’ would match the truck better. Hauling lumber and such it’s nicer to have the longer trailer.

      You can pull under a 10k GVWR trailer with a regular license. A lot of states like Pennsylvania you need a CDL to be towing any trailer with greater than 10k GVWR on the trailer builder's sticker. That's why they build 12 foot 9990 GVWR trailers...

    Batteries for a dump trailers are JUNK!!!!! You need to do away with that setup. Go buy some good thick battery cable, run one wire from your truck battery to the back of the truck. You can take a short piece for the second one and ground it to the back frame of the truck. Put golf cart plugs on the back of the truck and one on the dump trailer for hook up. I did that with my truck and dump trailer. You will never have any more issues. Thats the only way to go.

    The 14 gvw dumps are on the trucks rate for 12500? 5 ton of material makes them with trailer 14 ton and over the bumper rating of the truck?

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer

      Randy Clark bumper weight depends on how the trailer is loaded. They may be a bit overweight but handle no problem
