Obtaining saleable cullet with minimum content of impurities (ceramics, stones, metals, organic) for application in production of container glass, glass fiber is a critical and vital task in recycling.
Cleaned cullet is used in glass industry. Modern glass fiber production uses up to 80% of cullet as feedstock and glass container manufacturers use up to 15-40%. High requirements to used cullet set demand for deep cleaning of secondary raw materials from impurities.
Based on the laboratory tests results ERGA specialists developed a process solution for complex recycling of glass waste according to the Customer’s requirements.
The final stage of cleaning in this technology is separation by transparency (removal of stones, ceramics, organics, etc.) and optical sorting by color.
