Speaking as someone from overseas…..we mostly already do I have bi weekly pick up of plastic and the other week glass.most of the raw plastics are sent to china but the glass is broken down and reused
This is so cool! They don’t take glass where I live in WV so I have to take it into VA to find a place to recycle it. This company should be expanded nationwide!
It used to be a common place thing 50 years ago. I lived in USSR. Some people (usually the alcoholics lol) would make good money going around and picking up glass bottles everywhere. Dairy & soda & pickled veggies & winterized fruits & juices were served in glass containers so there was plenty of extra coin for someone willing to make an extra. My grandmother used to look down on such "eco-minded" profiteers due to their heavy drinking habits.
My god - you put glass in landfill? Really? That's insane. In the UK we've been recycling glass since before I was born - and that's a long time ago! We recycle food waste into energy, metal, glass, paper, cardboard and even plastics - all collected from the kerb. I think glass recycling here is about 96%.
We've been recycling glass in the US for decades also, but it's left up to each city or county whether they want to do it or not. As a result we only recycle around 30% of our glass in the US. We've been aware of the problem for a long time but for some reason nothing is ever done about it.
Before I was born bottle reuse was the norm. Deposit bottle charges were paid back, the store took the bottles, the company took back their bottles when they delivered new product. Bottles would be washed, sanitized and reused, and unfit bottles were culled. Diversity and plastics ruined all that.
You had to find a way! England has 56 million residents in less area than the midwest state of Iowa. Good or bad we have far more landfill space per person than you. We recycle because we see the long term advantages. Have a nice day.
@@iowapanner2223This is the correct answer. We have so much more land available than the UK, and it is far more energy intensive to recycle than to dispose of waste. It's not very eco conscious, though! But usually the bottom line is $$$ and the cheapest option wins unless there are subsidies.
Too bad only the brown glass gets closed loop recycled. Those damn green wine and beer bottles muck up the clear glass purity. Sucks people are so picky about the color of their glass bottles and jars!

Hello, I have a question. What is the reason for separating brown or amber glass from the rest of the other glass colors?
ua-cam.com/video/B85JsvgCgRo/v-deo.html It is used for amber bottles, the rest for insulation.
Is it possible to start ruble glass business in walvisbay namibia.

How can we start making sand in India and who will be buy this?
I live in a city with around 225,000 people and we have no glass recycling available. It all goes into the landfill.

задолбала реклама полный процесс невиден..как например отделяется с бутылки этикетка?
Has anybody ever calculated what it “cost” to recycle glass?
The kid pouring the watered down sauce down the drain pissed me off. Pour it right in the pot, let it simmer longer
If you microwave the jar for just 30 seconds the remaining sauce stuck in the jar is pours out easily!
Waste of energy water and time.
