as someone who has been a member of the community since 2019 and have been a member longer than a maker I think you deserve this serif in the best way possible before you there was very little content to consume. as a person that hyper fixates on hobbies you've done so much for the hobby! it's heart warm the community did this for you!

You deserve the Serif. It’s an amazing flipper and one of the best for sure. But honestly, I feel that the SlifT is far superior. It’s a complete tragedy that they won’t be making it anymore. Great video!
I’ve never been to blade show, but I remember going to my first bali meet up around a year into flipping. And I had all my more budget based knives, prysma, Atropos, vortex, kraken. And I had the mindset of never owning a more expensive one and that the difference can’t be that substantial. Then I got to try so many things. Went home and bought a serif immediately and completely changed my outlook. So happy for that
:) I hope to one day buy one, I talk about it enough that all of my friends know what it is and how much it costs even though they know basically nothing else about the market lol. So glad you like it, and it's great to hear how it reinvigorated your love for the hobby!
When I got my serif, it changed the way I approached the hobby entirely. I started selling off some of the other balis I had, and my interest in adding anything but an opus really declined. The serif really does feel like the balisong endgame.

Its awesome how you stoked you are on your Serrif. I got one at a great deal but honestly im not as stoked at most ppl with channels are. Granted, im a noob but i think its just a bit over rated. The thinness of the handles is about the only think im less than excited about. I think its a great bali but not the end all best ever. I felt kind of lied to at first because I haven't seen a single negative thing about it ever and feel like maybe its a bit overhyped. Im still keeping mine, im just really happy i got it at the price is did. Id be bummed to pay $700. Still, happy to see anyone as stoked on a product as you are. Enjoy!
Yeah the usually happendes with beginners where they get a grail knife and see it as a overpriced mako or what ever knife that they have. AS you get better at flipping you will see why people like it

When I got my Serif I did not really liked the way it flipped becasuse of the momentum carry felt dull so I did not flip it for a long while. I was flipping a squid trainer or a Triton more, but when I removed the weights omg I was in love. The momentum carry was amazing and it fit my preferences. Summary Im d riding a no weight Serif.
Do you plan on changing your recommendation list now that prysmas are discontinued

i don't prefer the balance with no weights, but i usually have mine without the weights to try and help hand/wrist fatigue lol
I liked my without the weights. I just like knifes where I dont have to put effort to flip.

While my serif is not my favorite based on preference, it is easily the nicest in my collection and goes toe to toe with some $1,000 balisongs. It could easily go for more than what they sell for.

Hey man, what would your recommendation be for an edc Bali?? Not necessarily for just flipping, just strong and durable to use.
Or anybody else’s opinion is also appreciated.
While I don't personally have one, I think a solid EDC choice for a balisong would be something like the Kershaw Lucha. It's made completely of steel, has a really sharp edge, has a latch, is on a bearing pivot system so it doesn't require regular tuning, doesn't cost an organ, and is highly customizable. The thing to look out for is that it's really REALLY heavy, and the blade is razor sharp. So, doing standard technical or recreational flipping is not impossible, but not advised. But for everyday knife usage where you're only gonna do the basic openings, it's a solid option.
There is also a utility blade balisong that exists and supposedly has titanium handles. But it's more of a silly novelty in my eyes that appeals to flippers like myself.
