I'm a Braves fan but I was at the Cubby Bear that night. Legendary "sports moment" that will never be topped. Pure emotions felt by all. That is baseball!
Thank the sweet lord above that my pops was able to see it before he passed. It meant so much to him and it still means so much to me that he was able to see it.
This was the happiest moment of my life. Things fell apart with me and my fiance. Our wedding day was going to be the day the Cubs won the Pennant. Then they won it all. I couldn't be happier :')
We’re going to go all the way again I’m hoping in 2023. The Cubs are going to win the World Series all over again it won’t take 108 years no ever ever again.
I didn't know how a Cubs fan felt this moment until the Raptors won in Oracle Arena. I dropped to my knees and fell on my back, not wanting to wake up. Now I know.
I can just imagine that as the ball came towards him, he had flashbacks from that very first time he fielded a ball by his dad..and all those years of practice came down to this very play.
I agree. I remember listening to that song before we won. I cried when I heard it for the first time. My Grandfather never got to see them win. Well we did go all the way Grandpa. Holy Cow!
The next few days are going to be very hard. The core will be broken up and we may very well be waiting a long time to witness this again. I'd like to thank Kris, Kyle, Anthony, Javy, and Willson for amazing memories, and you should all be cubs for life In a perfect world. I hope the majority of you resign with the team this winter, but wherever you go I wish you nothing but the best in your careers.
I'm a Mets fan (but the Cubs are my second favorite team since my dad lived in Chicago for ten years) and Game 7 of the World Series was the greatest game of baseball I've ever seen. Still gives me chills to listen to this and watch clips from that game.
I don't ever comment on youtube...I never thought I would do or say this but it's 5 am here in Chicago and I'm bawling my eyes out...we just got rid of rizz, kb, and el mago and it fuckin hurts...but I guess its true what they say don't be sad it's over be happy it happened..and by God it did happen..love you guys..thanks for some of the greatest cubs moment of most of our lives you guys are absolutely eternal in Chicago...God bless
The World Series was more than just the end of the drought. It was the end of the story; the greatest sports story ever told. The exercising of all the jinxes over the years, the bad luck, all erased. It truly did end it all. It was all over.
Alex Ayala yes sir me too. cried like a little girl on her birthday. waited 24 years and can't wait to win the next one. which might be next year. I hope shut all those cardinals fans the hell up again! #CUBSNATION
Been a Cubs fan since I was a little boy and heard this played on repeat by my dad it was an amazing night when we beat Cleveland and won it all, but tbh this song still song makes me hopeful I'm also a San Francisco 49ers fan who has never seen his team the SuperBowl I will probably cry like a baby when we win.
I'm not even a cubs fan but i was genuinely so happy for them that year. The pure joy that their postseason run brought could make every true baseball fan smile and cheer for them even if it was only for the month of october ❤
I’ve been to Chicago a few time s it have yet to go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field but at some point I plan too even tho my favorite Cubs player Anthony Rizzo is currently a free agent i still think it’d be really fun to go
I bleed cubby blue, so this might be a bias take, but this was by far the greatest playoff run, and World Series ever played. The greatest game ever played was indeed on a Wednesday in Cleveland.
I think we can all admit that no matter where you were, no matter what team you were a fan of, on that Autumn day in 2016, we all became Cubs fans. I'm a Mets fan and when I saw them win, my jaw dropped because I honestly never thought it would happen and I also got teary eyed. I want you to think about that. I shed tears of joy for a team I wasn't even a fan of and at that, often made jokes at their expense when it came to them doing it. That is the kind of sportsmanship Baseball breeds unlike the Equivalent Exchange hating NFL and its collective of expendable roid ragers.
You missed a great opportunity when he sang "When the day comes with that last winning run". Rizzo scored "that last winning run" in the bottom of the 10th, but you didn't include that.
I know the 8th run Rizzo scored was technically the winning run, but I would have loved that line to show the visual of Zobrist's hit scoring the go-ahead run in the 10th followed by Zobrist standing at second pumping his fist, followed by Rizzo on 3rd grabbing his helmet with both hands like 'holy shit this is really happening'. Rizzo, the same guy who earlier was heard on the mic saying he was in a glass case of emotion and couldn't take it. That's when shit got real for me. Even the players on the Cubs couldn't believe what they were doing! The 8th run that actually won the game just felt like an insurance run, didn't have nearly the same impact in the moment. To me the moment Zobrist got the go-ahead double to make it 7-6 is the moment I knew the Cubs were winning the World Series. That's the moment for me, perhaps moreso than even the ground ball to Bryant that cemented it.
The greatest game ever played was on a Wednesday in Cleveland
Still gives me chills hearing that last call. 5 years later. One day we'll go all the way.....
Amen!
I wasn’t a fan of either team and there will never ever be a game of that magnitude for the rest of our lives
I'm a Braves fan but I was at the Cubby Bear that night. Legendary "sports moment" that will never be topped. Pure emotions felt by all. That is baseball!
Absolutely the truth. The most incredible baseball game/series ever. Chills.
Watching this 6 years after and still made me emotional.. we went all the way.
Me too 😢
Whether it be that cold November night or 100 years later. Cubs fans will always know. Loyalty pays off. We went all the Way!!!!!
Still crying in 2024! We freaking did it!!!!
Thank the sweet lord above that my pops was able to see it before he passed. It meant so much to him and it still means so much to me that he was able to see it.
This NEVER gets old! go Cubs go
This was the happiest moment of my life. Things fell apart with me and my fiance. Our wedding day was going to be the day the Cubs won the Pennant. Then they won it all. I couldn't be happier :')

Yes I am.
I’m a Mariners fan but I love this song and video. Eddie Vedder is a great singer.
Twins fan who is too young to remember the 91 World Series. Also Minnesota fan who has never seen another championship. I know why you’re here.
10 innings 8 runs scored for the cubs
108 years
alexis j Why am I just now realizing this?!
Wow. Hadn't noticed that
It took a 10 minute rain delay to erase a 108 year drought- I wish my Dad could have seen this- Thank you Eddie for this song
We’re going to go all the way again I’m hoping in 2023. The Cubs are going to win the World Series all over again it won’t take 108 years no ever ever again.
Can never stop from crying when I hear this song, thinking about when my dad first took me to Wrigley Field when I was 8 years old.
Thanks, Theo. You built this. We'll carry it forever.
July 26, 2022 last home game for remaining player from championship team. Watching this like it’s yesterday and bawling my eyes out.
I didn't know how a Cubs fan felt this moment until the Raptors won in Oracle Arena. I dropped to my knees and fell on my back, not wanting to wake up.
Now I know.
Even tho he’s not on the Cubs anymore I still have my blue Anthony Rizzo Cubs T-shirt and Blue Anthony Rizzo Cubs jersey
I still have my Baez jersey!
2016 made all the heartbreak worth it...
The absolute peak of sports fandom for me. I still can't believe it happened!
Whether it be that cold November night or 100 years later. Cubs fans will always know. Loyalty pays off. We went all the Way!!!!!

You're lucky you got to see it as a kid. My grandpa was a Cubs fan for 98 years and never saw them win a title.
I can just imagine that as the ball came towards him, he had flashbacks from that very first time he fielded a ball by his dad..and all those years of practice came down to this very play.
every time I think about this team its something I still cant believe. I tear up every time
I agree. I remember listening to that song before we won. I cried when I heard it for the first time. My Grandfather never got to see them win. Well we did go all the way Grandpa. Holy Cow!
Can’t help but get a lil chocked up listening to this man... I’m not crying though

2:25 seeing Bruce Sutter get pissed after Ryno's homerun never gets old
Repeat this year.
108 yeare
Game five at Wrigley Field was the turning point of the World Series.
Last out call should've been from Pat Hughes and not Joe Buck.

RIP 2017
Awesome
I’m no Cubs fan, but seeing them break the longest title drought of all time … the mind boggles.
Go cubs😢😀
As I type this, I am sitting in the same room where exactly 6 years ago the cubs won it all. I'm currently sobbing.
11/2, the day we went all the way! and I'm not crying 😭😭😭. Let's win 2!
we witness this.....
fuckin A eddie vedders voice touches a part of my soul
I listen to this before every one of my games, then I walk onto the field like I can do anything
Ending with the crowd singing Go Cubs Go would have been epic as it fades....
Hey it fun to watch them as a fans they got one
