I would urge you to read wide. There are many documentaries that would refute this. Try looking at documentaries that explore life in Judea in the first century. Can I also suggest a good book by J. Warner Wallace called Person Of Interest. The book looks at external evidence from history to make a case for Jesus' existence and the subsequent Christianity movement.

While it is true that some ancient texts contain elements that may appear similar to certain aspects of the Christian narrative, it is important to approach these claims with caution. Placing undue emphasis on perceived parallels can be misleading and does not necessarily diminish the unique message and significance of the Christian faith. The virgin birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as understood by Christians, hold distinctive theological and historical significance within the scope of salvation history. Moreover, the use of terms like "son of God" and the presence of flood narratives in other cultures does not invalidate the Christian claims, as their interpretation and theological context may differ significantly. It is crucial to explore these matters comprehensively, considering historical, cultural, and theological elements, rather than making hasty judgments based solely on surface-level similarities.

Vespasian was likely Paul in the New Testament since it says in Titus 1:4 that Titus was one of the younger men whom Paul discipled and described as his 'son in the faith that we share'. Paul's character was taken from Saul from the Old Testament.

With so much war, strife, and power struggles at that time it's not hard to understand the planned convenience of a "savior messiah" (jesus christ) that would suddenly appear to bring peace and order to the land while promising you salvation and eternal life. It is in fact one hell of a well-orchestrated power play that helps quell more violence and war. The Romans were not stupid and were well educated, calculated thinkers.

So essentially Christianity was a counter-revolutionary movement invented by the Romans to marginalize the more political Jewish Messianic movement. Incorrect. There is a reason there are only four canonized Gospels. Those are the ones created by the Flavians who masterminded the entire work of literature. The sequence in the already well known typology that Joseph Atwill discovered proves the typology was put together to mirror the story of Titus in the Wars of the Jews by Josephus. The literature is where the science is done in this case and the science of literary analysis shows that the typology being evident points to the fact Titus Flavian is the only person in history who can be the Son of Man that Iesous predicts will come and destroy the Temple.

I am not about to read through all comments, so perhaps this has been covered by others. The Mithras following of the officer group of the Roman military provided a model for a rising and dying God. The Flavia s, also coming from such sub-culture had a ready model upon which to build political religious legitimacy to stabilize and institutionalize their power. What better basis than a religious practice that would appeal to everyman.
Then later, the story of the arrival of Saul as Paul, I self declared Roman citizen (he seems to relate less to Judaism) in Jerusalem and aparrent rejection by the decidedly Jewish followers of the messianic Jesus character. Paul spins the encounter and the rejection as being sent out with "his gospel" to the non-Jewish world. A perfect backstory to legitimize the power of Roman military.
It is interesting to note that hidden places of worship for Mithras have been found buried deep in London, England. Thus gives support to its wide impact on the Roman military elite.

The Romans had a talent for mixing and matching and conflating religious elements. Lots of religions did this. Judaism seems to use elements of old Canaanite religions, Zoroastrianism, and the Yazidi religion. I always found it suspicious that the religion of a radical foreign anti-Roman group(s) caught on as the next popular thing in a xenophobic society like Rome and in Greek of all languages, even though half the empire spoke that, it was still not Latin. That would be like Isis Islam becoming popular throughout half of America and spread in Spanish among non-Hispanics. Something fishy was happening.

Atwill claims that Christianity didn’t exist before the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. But even the Roman historian Tacitus places Christian persecution under Emperor Nero in AD 64-well before the destruction of Jerusalem. Tacitus even calls the Christian movement an “immense multitude.” He writes,
Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome… Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths. Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination when daylight had expired. [3]
If Christianity was a Roman conspiracy, then why would Tacitus-a Roman historian-claim that Christianity existed in AD 64? And, more importantly, why would the Roman emperor Nero persecute Christians in this way, if Rome was actually trying to support Christianity?
Tacitus isn’t the only Roman to mention Christianity. In AD 110, the Roman governor Pliny writes to the Roman Emperor Trajan about the Christian movement in Bithynia. Here Trajan tells Pliny that Christians should be killed, unless they abandon their faith. Trajan writes,
If indeed [Christians] should be brought before you, and the crime is proved, they must be punished; with the restriction, however, that where the party denies he is a Christian, and shall make it evident that he is not, by invoking our gods, let him (notwithstanding any former suspicion) be pardoned upon his repentance.[4]
From this excerpt, it is very clear that Trajan was trying to stop Christianity-not support it. Why would the Romans invent a religion that they would later persecute like this? Moreover, if Rome invented Christianity, then why execute Peter and Paul?[5] Instead of crucifying these two central leaders of the early Christian movement, they should have had them on their payroll.
Finally, the Romans weren’t the only ones to mention Jesus (see Part Four of Evidence Unseen). Other Greek and Jewish sources also mention Jesus of Nazareth. Were these hostile sources also part of this “Roman conspiracy”?
    REASON #3: Worldview criticism
The NT affirms that Jesus has “all authority on heaven and Earth” (Mt. 28:18), and he is called the “king of kings and lord of lords” (Rev. 19:16). This is why, in the book of Acts, the disciples twice disobey the government in order to obey Christ (Acts 4:19; 5:29). Why would the Romans invent a messiah that would take away their authority, rather than garner it?

    • @ioannescontramundum
      @ioannescontramundum 2 дні тому

@@joshcovington5604 Shortly, we don’t know where Tacitus got his info from. There’s a real chance that he got it from the Acta Senatus, which was restored (and possibly altered) by Vespasian. He was also employed by the Flavians, so he could be considered Flavian propaganda. To your point of why Romans would persecute Christians if they had invented it earlier: the same objection could be made the opposite way. Why did Rome adopt Christianity later if they didn’t invent it?

I like the idea that 1) Jesus spoke so often in paradoxes because he was speaking from a universal point of view, not the point of view of an individual; 2) and that when he spoke of dying to this life, he was talking about living in the moment, without worrying about the past and future. So, the kingdom of god is now, not later after our physical bodies die. Of course, he was also preaching the ethical ramifications of his philosophical teaching. An interpretation like this reminds me of the "cosmic Christ" idea that Father Rohr has written about. It might also make sense of such statements as "before Abraham, I was." In other words, time isn't relevant to someone living in the new way. Does this explain the miracles or the resurrection? Not as far as I can see.

John Stewart “before Abraham I was”, just refers to the fact the Jesus already existed in heaven. I don’t know how Christians manage to connect that to ‘I am God’... no where in the Bible does Jesus say clearly ‘I am God’. Jesus was just a prophet, and a great one indeed. He will be sent to return back to earth during the last days, as foretold.

When the Greeks conquered Kemet which they called Egypt. They created a hybrid parental deity in order to combine Egyptian mythology with Greek mythology. So they combined the Egyptian God Thoth with the Greek God Hermes.
They called him Hermes Trismegistus III. Who was known as… “The Thrice Great.” He was famous for triumphing over the season of death. Which is what the number 3 almost always symbolizes in World Mythology.
Isn't this what the Flavian Dynasty did after conquering the Jews? Didn't they create a new hybrid form of Greco-Roman Judaism? To integrate Jewish mythology with Greco-Roman mythology?
Calling him… “Jesus The Christ.” Who is also famous for triumphing over the season of death. As represented by… “The Trinity.” Isn't this a better explanation for the origins of Christianity rather than Harry Houdini magic?
Wasn't Paul secretly working for the Flavian Dynasty?
Weren't all of the original Roman Catholic Saints' members of the Flavian Dynasty? Weren't all of the original symbols used by the earliest Christians identical to those of the Flavian Dynasty? And wasn't the earliest iconographic image of Jesus The Christ, in a catacomb, under the city of Rome, which was owned by a Flavian Princess?
Weren't all of the original Jesus cult texts produced under the oversight of the Flavian Dynasty? Didn't the Flavian Dynasty posses the only remaining copy of the Hebrew Tanakh other than the Greek Septuagint translation? Isn't there Flavian typology in the Gospels?
Weren't the canonical texts all back dated like the historical fiction of Gone With The Wind? Wasn't Emperor Vespasian known as the Jewish Messiah? Wasn’t Pope Clement of Rome a Flavian? Wasn't Josephus a temple whore for the Flavian Dynasty? Weren't the Flavian’s, as well as Paul, descended from King Herod?
There was no separation of Church and State in the Roman Empire. And Christianity is clearly a Greco-Roman hybrid form of Judaism created by the Flavian Dynasty. As an attempt to adapt, pacify, and integrate the rebellious and defiant Jews into the rest of the Greco-Roman Empire. Just like the Greeks created Hermes Trismegistus to integrate Egyptian mythology with Greek mythology.
Then finally Neo-Flavian Constantine chose the Flavian family religion to be the official religion of the entire Roman Empire. In order to consolidate power in his fractured Empire. And then Eusebius edited and rewrote the history of the previous 3OO years. Destroying all contradictory evidence. Such as all of the non-canonical Jesus cult texts. It isn't history it is all simply Greco-Roman mythopoetic literature. Today it is known as Historical Fiction.
“What profit hath not this fable of Christ brought us.”
    Pope Leo X 💙

Each of the Gospels was based on another book. The Gospel of Matthew was modeled on the Torah. Gospel of Matthew is divided into 5 books just like the books of the Torah. It starts with an account like that of Genesis, moves on to an account like that of Exodus and another like Numbers , then the bulk of the Gospel is like the Book of Deuteronomy, and it concludes with a piece that is like Leviticus. So it is like the Torah except the order of the books is different. The entire central part of Gospel of Matthew is taken up by a parody of Deuteronomy, which is known as Sefer Devarim from its initial phrase ‘these are the Words’. This is similar to Matthew’s initial phrase in chapter 4 v.17 ‘from that time forth Jesus began to say these Words’. Like the five speeches by Moses in Deuteronomy, it is organized around a series of five great teachings given on a mountain, each of which concludes with a very formal rhetorical ending. In Leviticus the different chapters move in succession around the walls of the courtyard of the Tabernacle before approaching the Ark, and there are two episodes of blasphemy-one the sons of Aaron in front of the door, and the other the account of the blasphemer in front of the curtain in chapter 24. Well the last part of Matthew moves around the Temple in exactly the same way and Jesus is twice accused of blasphemy at the equivalent places in front of the entrance ways. This is absolute definite proof that the entire account in the gospel is a literary anti Semitic joke.

Anyone who gets their ancient history from the bible and only the bible has no argument. There is plenty of extra-biblical history but in all things ancient it's a detective story. You have to have some understanding of the geopolitical situation of the greater region and an understanding of the many cultures and their histories. You also need some linguistic skill not only to translate ancient text but to understand cultural meaning so you can spot what is original and what isn't. You also have to understand that stories were passed on through generations each one adding its own interpretation. Whether these stories had any factual base is irrelevant if people at the time generally accept them as so and add them to their culture, reinterpreting them and changing characters so as to me understood and accepted by later audiences. All this is a problem for modern victims of apologists who want to accept the bible verbatim and who not only have no interested in investigating its authenticity but who are also actively discouraged from doing so. That is why they can only resort to abuse over reason

First Century Christian books that tell us about Jesus: (1) Didache or Doctrine of the Twelve Apostles which all date around 70 AD; (2) Letter of Clement to the Corinthians (third successor of Peter and writes in 96 AD); (3) The letters of Ignatius of Antioch who was bishop from 70 to 107 AD.
Note: (a) the whole of the literary tradition of the age of the Roman Empire up to the times of Tacitus and Suetonius has been lost; (b) in the Annals of Tacitus, one of the few works that have come down to us, the books of the period 29-32 AD are missing and the story of book 16 stops in the year 66 AD; (c) - the mass destruction carried out by Vespasian and then by Hadrian swept away all the archives of Jerusalem, therefore all the public documents including the trial and condemnation of Jesus, just as the archives of the Empire in Rome were destroyed in the repeated fires that occurred on the Capitol between AD 69 and 83.
Having made this premise, we would expect that 'nothing' had come to us from the pagans of that historical period; but it is not so:
    - Tacitus (54-119), in the Annals, fire of Rome 64 AD: "Therefore, in order to put an end to this rumor, Nero invented guilty people and subjected to very refined punishments those whom the mob, detesting them because of their atrocities, he called Christians. The origin of this name was Christ, who under the empire of Tiberius had been condemned to execution by the procurator Pontius Pilate; and, momentarily dormant, this lethal superstition spread again, not only through Judea, the hearth of that disease, but also Rome ...". Tacitus did not write by hearsay, he obtained this information either from documents of the Senate or from the Consul Cluvium in function under Caligula.
    - The "Jesus case" arrives in the Senate of Rome in the year 35 AD, a few months after the execution of Christ, Pilate, Caiaphas and all the characters are still alive. He arrives there since Tiberius asked the Senate to legitimize the new "Christian" religion and therefore to recognize that Jesus as "god", eventually, legitimizing this new Jewish heresy was part of the imperial approach that had already been practiced with the Samaritans to emancipate them from guardianship Judaica and retain them in Rome. How does Sardis reach us, through Justin of Nablus who writes around 150 AD that there was a report from Pilate to Tiberius on the story of Jesus for which he referred his contemporaries to the imperial archives. Pilate then testified about the slain Galilean on the evening of April 7, AD30.
    - Tertullian in 197 AD reports "under whose reign [Tiberius] the Christian name made its entry into the world ... transmitted to the Senate, giving his first favorable vote, all that had been communicated to him from Syria Palestine and that demonstrated the truth about the divinity of Jesus. The Senate, not having itself verified these facts, voted against." for unlawful superstition. Tiberius also mocks the context, finding absurd the pagan idea that a god without the favorable vote of man would not have been such.
    - After the rejection of the Senate "Tiberius sent his legate Lucius Vitellius to the East with full powers, who in 36-37 deposed Caiaphas, the High Priest who presided over the Sanhedrin when Jesus was condemned to death, and recalled Pilate to Rome, as attested by the Jewish historian of the time Flavius Josephus (ant. Giud. XVIII, 89-90, 122) and also by Eastern sources independent of Tertullian.... And the Successor of Pilate deposed by Vitellius by order of Tiberius, Marcellus, it has the same name as the senator who would have hosted St. Peter in Rome according to the Acts of Peter, fol. 8 ss, an apocrypha of the 2nd century which however is based on ancient legends."
    - Abgar, Middle Eastern king allied with Rome. Letter exchange between Tiberius and Abgar known as the Black, datable to the year 36, "Abgar exhorts Tiberius to intervene against the Jews, to punish those responsible for the crucifixion of Christ, and Tiberius replies that he has already deposed Pilate and promises to take further measures against the Jews once the problems with the sons of Spain had been settled..." deeds deposited in the Royal Archives of Edessa, capital of Osroene (Syria).
    - Edict of Nero, found in Nazareth in 1878, marble stele 61 cm high, 38 wide, 22 lines, called diàtagma Ka (62 AD): "Edict of Caesar. It is my will that the sepulchres and tombs, of any type, made out of religious respect for ancestors, or children or relatives - remain inviolate forever. placed, thus offending the deceased themselves, or have moved the slabs or tombstones, against such persons I order that a trial be held, as one does - for contempt of the gods - against anyone who worships a human being. there is greater respect for the deceased. That absolutely no one is allowed to move the bodies that are buried. But if anyone does so, I order that the offender be sentenced to capital punishment on the charge of trespassing on tombs." Outrage to the gods, peri theon, de diis principal charge against the Christian hominis cultores.
    - The darkening of the sky at the death of Christ, Thallus, Samaritan freedman according to Flavius speaks of it, but the text has disappeared, Sextus Julius Africanus (50 AD) mentions it but this text has also been lost but is quoted in a work later, Giulio Africanus demonstrated how the naturalistic interpretation was wrong since there were no eclipses in the periods of full moon (Passover when Jesus was crucified); it is therefore spoken of at the level of the imperial court
    - Mara Bar Separion, Syriac Stoic of the 1st century "What benefit did the Athenians derive from the death sentence of Socrates, a crime they had to pay with famine and plague? Or those of Samos from having burned Pythagoras, since then Was their country in a moment buried by the sands? Or the Jews by the execution of their wise King, for they were despoiled of their kingdom from that time? In Justice God took vengeance on those three wise men. The Athenians died of hunger; those of Samos were submerged by the sea; the Jews were killed and driven from their land they live scattered everywhere. Socrates is not dead, thanks to Plato; nor Pythagoras, because of his statue of Hera; nor the wise King, thanks to the new teaching that he had imparted"
    - Flavius Josephus, Jewish Antiquities (18, 63-64), 93 AD, "Jesus lived in this time, a wise man, even if he is to be called a man. In fact, he performed extraordinary works and was the teacher of men who joyfully welcome the truth, and so he drew many Jews and also many Greeks to himself. He was the Christ. Even when, in denunciation of those among us who are the leaders, Pilate had him crucified, those who had loved him before did not stop loving him He appeared to them on the third day alive again, according to what the prophets had foretold about him all this and a thousand other wonders. To this day there is still the genus of those who have taken the name Christians from him." Flavio was born in 37, of a priestly family on his father's side and royal on his mother's side, this means that his relatives had been present during the vicissitudes of Christ, the text however was contested by the genius of Voltaire, therefore . ..
    - 1971, prof. Shlomo Pines Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 10th century Arabic codex, the Universal History of Agapius, bishop of Hierapolis, Syria, different version of the passage from Flavius: "At this time there lived a wise man Jesus. His conduct was good and was esteemed for his virtue. Many were those, among the Jews and other nations, who became his disciples. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. But those who had become his disciples did not stop following his teaching. They reported that it had appeared to them three days after his crucifixion and that he was alive. Perhaps that is why he was the Messiah of whom the prophets have told marvels.
You've been telling imbecility for 2000 years, please, stop the idiocracy.

Look up Ralph Ellis ... he says in his video, this Jesus he talks about is the false prophet of Egypt. Rome changed names and dates to confuse the mass and to wipe out a royal line of which this Jesus is related to Cleopatra VII if I recall, don't quote me but look him up.
Ralph Ellis, on March 6, 2013 at 2:05 pm said:
This analysis hardly scratches the surface. In reality:
The biblical Jesus was called King Jesus Emmanuel.
The historical Izas was called King Izas Manu(el) VI of Edessa.
The biblical Jesus was a King of the Jews.
The historical Izas was a defacto King of the Jews (because his mother, Queen Helena, was the defacto Queen of the Jews).
The biblical Jesus was a Nazarene.
The historical Izas was a Nazarene.
The biblical Jesus was sent away to Egypt for his education.
The historical Izas was sent away for his education, and appears to have visited Egypt and stayed in Jerusalem.
… (his mother furnished the Temple of Jerusalem)
The biblical Jesus’ disciples (Saul and Barnabas) took money from King Abgarus of Edessa, to provide famine relief for Jerusalem.
The historical Izas-Manu’s father was the same King Abgarus of Edessa.
The biblical Jesus was a revolutionary who fought the Jerusalem authorities and the Romans.
The historical Izas was a revolutionary who fought the Jerusalem authorities and the Romans.
The biblical Jesus was captured and crucified.
The historical Izas was captured and crucified.
The biblical Jesus survived the cross (by being taken down early).
The historical Izas survived the cross (by being taken down early).
The biblical Jesus was taken down by Joseph of Arimathaea.
The historical Izas was taken down by Josephus Flavius.
The biblical Jesus wore a Crown of Thorns.
The historical Izas wore a Crown of Thorns.
The biblical Jesus wore a purple cloak (the Imperial cloak).
The historical Izas would have worn a purple cloak (the Imperial cloak), because he wanted to become Emperor.
The biblical Jesus was born under the Eastern Star.
The historical Izas was using the Star Prophesy of the Eastern Star to become Emperor.
…. (you will note that it was Vespasian who took the Star
Prophesy, and used it to become Emperor, as Tacitus and Suetonius confirm).
I could go on, but you perhaps see my point. Jesus was a prince and king of Edessa, called King Izas Manu(el).
And the reason why you have never heard of King Abgarus or King Manu (even though they were very famous historically), is because the Catholic Church has done everything in its power to delete them from history (even though Abgarus appears in Acts of the Apostles in Acts 11:27). This is the unspoken truth, that has remained hidden for nearly 2,000 years – the historical truth that the Catholic Church thought it had buried forever

None of this shows that the flavians created christianity from whole cloth. They wouldn't need to - they just had to assimilate and promote the already existing pacifistic strands of messianism.

The evidence the Flavians created the New Testament literature is excellent and completely convincing IMO. The fact that we have the Josephus literature shows the Flavians capable of creating complicated scriptures to match. Atwill's Theory of the Flavian origin of the Gospels is brilliant and will be studied henceforth by any scholar worth a dime. He has unveiled a mystery that explains away any doubt I might have had about Jesus being a real historical person. Christianity is a complete Flavian fabrication and knowing this is what can set you free.

      2) So does the writing of other jews who wrote the books of new testament, because that's what inspired them.
      3) Therefore...Joesphus wrote the new testament.
Do you see the flaw in this reasoning?

***** Non sequitur - Literary analysis of the two works of literature show over 40 parallels that occur in the exact same sequence and exact locations. There is no way that that could occur by chance. Therefore one can conclude that the stories are linked. One is dependent on the other or they were created in tandem. The hypothesis that it was the Flavians who created this link is completely sound and logical. Along with the other proofs of Flavian involvement in the early Church cements the fact that the Flavians were the creators of the Gospel literature and therefore the entire religion.

Flavius Josephus' "Life" is published between 90-100CE. The Gospel of Mark is supposed to be written in the 70's CE.
In Flavius Josephus' "Life" there is a on story about 3 priests on the cross and the rescue of one of them by Joseph Bar Matthatia (Flavius Josephus).
An other "testimonium" in Life reveals that the youngster (+-14 years old) was already discussing Jewish Law's and Religion.
Supposing (!) that this 2 (or at least one) testifyings are recorded in Mark's
    Gospel,
    Some possibilities:
    - Mark is written using Flavius Josephus' Vita, thus after 90-100CE.
    - Mark is written in the 70's CE and the two stories are added to the Gospel
after the publication of F.J.'s Vita in 90-100CE
    - "Mark" knew(direct or indirect) the living Josephus .
    - Flavius Josephus was the (co)-author of Mark (Maybe a rewrite of an already existing
"Yeshu-gospel" (Yeshu, the ex-disciple of Joshua Ben Perachia)???)
Was it also possible that "Paul" and Josephus, at the age of 25, who was sent to Rome to negociate the release of Essene priest's, met each other at Rome?
In this case there must be have been already a relationship between the Julio-Claudio Emperors and the Helene/Roman minded Jews? (Josephus Bar Matthatia knew Poppea the wife of Nero...)

Florimond Fleerackers - Very possible. If Paul is Saulus Thaddeus Alexander Herod, cousin of Herod Agrippa (therefore, a Roman citizen, released from prison seven times, persecuted the early church, etc.), and Joseph Bar Matthaias is also Joseph Barnabas ("Son of Prophecy"), Paul's mentor in the Acts of the Apostles. And collaborating with Titus Flavius Clemens (Pope Clement of Rome), who is described as a "quick study on the Septuagint," and killed by his cousin, Emperor Domitian, for being a Christian circa 92 CE. I think this theory has numerous merits.

It’s part of the Flavian propaganda, which Blackhirst mentions in the beginning. Our source on Nero persecuting Christians is from Tacitus, who was employed by the Flavian emperors, and he undoubtedly got his information from Flavian sources, if he is not just outright lying in a bid to smear Nero.
If we had any contemporary non-Flavian sources on these persecutions, it could speak against this, but we don’t.

When the Hellenistical spirit in the Hellenistic times reached the people of the Middle East in today's Israel and all the surrounding areas, then the same thing happened that happened in the Hellenistic times, that is, the Greeks Hellenized another culture, religion or deity, converting a culture or deity to a Greek version of it (so it is not exactly a "syncretism" as some people say) . Under Roman rule even the background is always the Greek world, the Hellenistical spirit, the Greek culture and the Hellenic world - system and philosophy etc upon which the Roman empire stands. But the Romans at some point take Greek polytheism and make it a kind of authoritarian centralized state religion and a religion (while Greek polytheism is not a religion) that serves an authoritarian Roman system, with Caesars etc and God's mercy, monarchy (a kind of polytheistic monotheism with the Sun - God /Sol Invictus) . Christ was Prometheus who resisted the violence of the Roman state who crucified people, in a very brutal way people (this is what the crucifixion of Christ signifies, beyond other things) This creates some texts in the type of ancient Greek tragedy or ancient Greek myths with their parallels as in the ancient Greek myths (these areas were filled with Greek settlements and ancient Greek theaters, which we can find even in today's Afghanistan) and Christ becomes the Crucified like Prometheus in the Caucasus who is also a philanthropist and frees people from Roman oppression - "Tyrant Zeus" who crucifies ppl, when Rome was in decline. The Jewish religion, the old testament is directly Hellenized just by its translation into Greek as it is not just a translation into another language but also carries the corresponding cultural Hellenic burden. Christ himself brings a New Testament, that is, a new religion which is humanistic and human-centered in contrast to the Jewish religion and the Jewish Law / Theocracy, and the doctrinal literalism, the Jewish "Sharia" and frees religion both in this Jewish world and the Roman world from the connection of religion with the law and tyrannical authoritarianism so the state power of that times, so from the Monotheistic "Sharia" (that is also present in Islam) and who that was "slaves"and poor and abandoned and oppressed before their revolt to their Roman tyrants throught the Hellenistical Christ as their Prometheus. There is the emphasis in the Gospels that "the letter dehumanises while the spirit gives life". The whole humanistic style of the Gospels, is away and "against" the spirit of the Priesthood jurification and their "authenticity of the word of the god in the holy texts" , against the religious authoritarianism , with it's humanistic messages and ideas, is the effect of Greek culture on these people of the Middle East. The spirit of ancient Greek tragedy that penetrates these texts is characteristic. The myth of Christ itself is nothing more than another ancient Greek tragedy in the style of the Prometheus myth and the Aeschylian tragedy, etc. These tragedies were performed and known by the people of those regions with the ancient Greek theaters that the ancient Greeks had created. This of course is only one element of the influence, there is influence from every side of the umanistic Greek culture
From there Christianity is born. It has some Jewish core but then becomes Hellenized. That's all

    • @Trophonius
      @Trophonius 3 дні тому +1

And that's one of the reasons of what I present here, that Christianity has no Sharia - Religious Law and books and a theocratic hierarchical political system to come from and with it. While most religious have, especially at least and in contrast to the other big monotheistic religions. Because Christianity it is a creation of the Hellenic spirit / ancient Greek spirit and world, that there is neither Sharia, and furthermore neither "holy religious books" in the sense of Bible, Quran, or whatever like that or theology. So has a secular and umanistic "anthropocentric" character in it. In Greek polytheism the Gods don't say what political system the humans to have in their societies and their is no specific religious or ethical law , no moralism, in the sense of the after religions. In fact the structure of the stories of Greek mythology has the sperm of democratic ideas and rebellion spirit, freedom spirit in the political level or in general (we see in Greek mythology previous gods to be de - throned by other gods and a kind of meta - physical "dialectics", and we see in the stories of the Greek gods when there is to take a desicion on the things of human fate, to come all together in Olympus in a syneulesis - meeting and talk all together and decide all together about what they will decide to a matter, - well that is like we see a scene of what was happening in the ancient Greek democracies - to disagree and oppose the one with the other , to say their opinions and express their sympathise or dislikes, to make conspiracies the one with the other etc. even if Zeus has the "last word" (in that sense Zeus becomes the Demos, the people, the Polis, the "cosmic order" , the common and final decision of the people of the Polis, the society, that all must respect, even if some they do disagree or dislike, in order not the world to fall into chaos and total anarchy or tyranny. It is so, that in ancient Greek City - Polis these decisions is considered as the "will of the gods" ) But even yet Zeus, is not an "absolute god for ever" he is in danger to be de- throned by Prometheus, as he himself de - throned in the past Khronos from the power and threatens to change fundementally all the cosmic world order. The same happens with other stories with Dionysus and in ancient Greek tragedy etc. So I mean all the freedom spirit, of resistance, of questioning the authorities, of opposition or / and "turning around" , of re - newal, of such tendencies, of an umanism, that it is secular but not yet completely secular but has a sacred character, is already there. It is all this spirit we see in the teachings of Christ, and the Christian mythology, if we transfer them in that specific religious context and place and time, that had those people there. It is the Hellenic spirit that acts in the "underground" , as the substratum , in the Jewish context and in the Roman or Greco- Roman one of that times.

Paul conveniently leaves out details found in the Gospels (such as Jesus having 12 disciples and being betrayed, or even any of his famous sayings and teachings). Paul would've had reason to mention them, but he didn't because these details of Jesus' story hadn't been invented yet, which debunks the idea they were ever a part of history. Paul's only sources for knowing Jesus was scripture and visions and specifically says that none of what he knows derives from human origin.

Well, there wasn't a single fact given by Blackhirst that supports the idea that the Flavians actually did produce the Gospels. It's all just clouds of unsupported theory. Sadly for him, it comes to grief on the fact that there were plenty of Christians already in Rome under Nero so the latter was able to scapegoat them for the Fire of Rome. And that was considerably before the Flavians were given power.
Moreover the Gospels were written in koine Greek and clearly destined for the Greeks as potential converts. Not very sensible when you're dealing with Aramaic-speaking Jews who considered Hebrew a divine language and were deeply suspicious of Greco-Roman culture. And it was hardly sensible to try and sell a man as a God, rather than as a Messiah, as that would get up the nose of pious Jews. Anything coming from the Greco-Roman world would have been rejected with the greatest suspicion and disgust.
The Germans as usual used brutal military force and executions to impose their power. The Zealots were so crushed they would not be able to raise their heads again for another two generations. The whole idea of Caesar's Messiah is ridiculous. One of its main critics, and with reason, is Dr Richard Carrier. He says what I've just said here.

The gospels themselves are the proof; they contain the deification of Flavius Titus whose military campaign is mirrored blow by blow in the ' mission of Jesus ' which starts in the Galilee and then moves gradually south through the Jordan valley to Jericho and Jerusalem. Nazareth did not exist as a town then, but Tiberias was already an ancient city along the coast of the great northern lake in Israel created by the upper Jordan River. Apparently scholars must have this pointed out blow by blow before it becomes clear and obvious to them. Joseph Atwill has already done this and he was not the first person to think of this idea. It has been kicked around for at least a hundred years.

I have seen an analysis which has Josephus working with Greeks under the Flavians to construct a myth. But I do not understand why no independent records of this type of activity seems to have turned up. Emperor Julianus (Julian the apostate) had Greek scholars pouring over the records in an attempt to promote Hellenism and discredit Christianity and to my knowledge, nothing showed up that he could use. It is true that his reign was centuries removed and was rather short, but aside from internal evidence which is cited from the works of Josephus, where are the other records of this having been done?

Actually he doesn't. His take flies in the face of ancient texts to the contrary. For example, here is a quote from Annals, Chapter 44 by Roman Senator, Tacitus writing about Christ and Christians under Emperor Nero's rule:
But all human efforts, all the lavish gifts of the emperor, and the propitiations of the gods, did not banish the sinister belief that the conflagration was the result of an order. Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judæa, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind.

If I were to say to you this day "I am the way, the truth, and the life. And no man comes to the Father (God) but by me". You would believe me to be either a liar, or insane. Yet because of the signs and wonders, as well as the fulfilled prophecies in all that he did - not only did his followers who witnessed these things know who he was, but also the physician Luke who researched these truths. And these signs and wonders continued with his followers throughout history, but even to this day; as I too have had a pentecostal experience and seen the sick healed and the dead raised to life. The conclusion that it is a moderate position or reasonable to be obsessed with materialism, conquest, and control is absurd, as that caused the rise of the Messianic movement, the revolt, and that is the core of Roman ideals. To hope that governments today are involved in "that sort of thing," shows that he does not fully understand the implications of said tactics. Is it moderate to force collectivization in order to subjugate and expand? How do you call brutal violent suppression accompanied with cultural manipulation through propaganda and control of media to achieve "consent," moderate or reasonable, or something you hope your government is doing?
The Roman Empire is glorified throughout US history, and we have yet to learn the lesson. 9/11 was just one of the many instances of "pacifist propaganda" meted out by the "Empire." Unite to crush the extremists and have our revenge, and then we will be safe and have peace. And now it is a public health crisis, where our very bodies have become the gold mines of profit.

No, but someone has an awful lot of funds to create a documentary to prove nothing. What a morbid purpose they must have.

@SuperDukka If you could erase this religion many would not have died but every nation that have not embraced this religion killed many more. You still have people eating people in Africa I know because I stay here. Daughters are sold for cattle. Three out of 5 woman are raped. Body parts are used in potions. The amount of sadism in killings is worse than any movie you have ever seen. 6 big men crossing a 4 year-old girl to a kitchen table taking turns raping her infront of a dead mother whose vagina and breasts are cut off and a father who's eyelids are cut off so he has to witness the cruelty. I am not Christian but if you follow the ten commandments and remove those who break them from society so they cant procreate you are left with a much more tame species of human. Look at Sweden before the mass migration. They had to close prisons because of centuries of these values. The Indians of America were vicious canabals and killers before western values became the norm. Asia and India also before Krishna and Budda. Even after that millions were killed under communist rule. Also remember the God of Israel was meant to be the God of the tribe or race of Abraham not other nations and races. The cruelty of this God is justified in the fact that he is only meant to look out for them. Other peoples were seen as barbarians, filth, killers, rapers, animals and had to be destroyed. Also you mention oil. If you look at the last 5000 years and you notice that oil made an impact on only a hundred years oil is very insignificant then and the world is already moving away from it. The 10 commandments pathed the way to abolish worldwide slavery, to put a man on the moon and to enable us to communicate with anyone anywhere instantly. Evil needs to exist so we can choose otherwise without choice and thought we loose that thing which makes us special. We are the only animal with a significant consciousness. Otherwise we would be stupid animals.

There is none. As creative as people may try to be to deny the existence of Jesus, it becomes difficult to deny ancient history. Here is a quote from Tacitus from chapter 44 of his book Annals writing about Christ and Christians under Emperor Nero's rule:

Also, why would the Emperor of Rome support a new religion which asserted one God and the divinity of Jesus rather than the divinity of the emperor. It seems to me like the Roman government would have shot itself in the foot if it had done that.
