unfortunately for Hisuian Arcanine, it is completely outclassed by Magcargo, the superior Rock/Fire type. Magcargo gets many better options like Flame Body, which decreases the time it takes to hatch Eggs and as they say, you can't make an omelette without breaking some Eggs.
Surprised there was no mention of Exeggutor's signature move, Dragon Hammer, primarily known for being a physical attack on a special attacker and therefore doomed to never be used.
I mean they moved 10 speed to his attack stat so it is base 105 atk. If you want to run physical alolan exeggutor you can I guess , he has sd/curse and good physical coverage too lol
Despite its focus being the video game series "Pokémon", this video has given me much insight into what is considered funny by many people, which is very valuable for me as a German individual. For example, I have been under the impression that Viking Meowth and its evolution could be seen as very Funny. Luckily, Mr Cool was able to shatter that misconception. Thank you.
@ But then it should make sense that it would be poofy to reference actual Persian cats? Plus the fact it doesn’t actually have dense fur to warrant having Fur Coat. If anything it looks like they just didn’t want to animate some hair physics on the model and left it as basic Persian with a funky face; or it looked too much like Purrugly
Wugtrio with Flip Turn could have been okay? Hit them fast, slow then down and then pivot into something that can take the incoming hit and threaten them in return.
If only gooey worked like that lol. Actually maybe that would be too good on hisuian Goodra. Maybe it should have been a signature ability for wugtrio.
I can vouch a bit for Perrserker. This funny cat has been slandered. Steely Spirit is an alright gimmick, but Mr. Cool, it has Tough Claws as another ability option! This gives it harder hitting moves across the board such as Fake Out, Knock Off, U-Turn, and Close Combat. These moves alongside STAB and Stealth Rock make it a great bulky hazard setter or pivot attacker with an Assault Vest in the current Gen 9 ZU. I might nominate this mischievous feline fellow to move up a little bit in rank. Thank you.
These could easily feel like simple rehashes of old Pokémon but, they're often pretty distinct and creatively separated from their original forms, with some theming or flavor inspired by the region they're in.
I make a lot of use out of Runerigus in NatDex, giving it bulk and a Custap berry. I am so glad alolan ninetales is so high on the list. Even tho I’m not really a competitive player (just like watching from the sidelines), it makes me happy to see my favorite regional form be so good.
The only time I’ve ever hit #1 on a ladder was during gen8 with a team built around Runerigus during the stint where regieleki was everywhere. EQ, wisp, tspikes, and painsplit was insane for breaking balance with support from other teammates. Love that fella

I think the most hilarious thing about Galarian Darmanitan is that unlike most regular mons that get banned to Ubers and languish down there, that freak of nature THRIVED up there. One of the biggest reasons why Dusk-Mane is a mandatory pick on any serious Ubers team is because SwSh Ubers has an extreme lack of Ice resists, with only it and Kyogre being particularly good. Kyogre can get worn down over time, which means that once Dusk-Mane gets dealt with (and it can just eat a Flare Blitz from G-Darm and be in massive trouble) the rest of your Ubers team featuring stuff like Yveltal, Groudon, Eternatus, Zekrom, etc. just gets trampled by one very angry gorilla’s Icicle Crash.
Alolan Persian has been one of the best guys in PU since it came out. With the low pier levels and speed tiers, it ou speeds and survives everything, and is therefore an insane pivot
I used to love running Alolan Raichu with Electro Ball in Gen 7, that move would often hit the max of 150 Base Power before STAB and Electric Terrain boost, and I would go ALL in with Life Orb too cause its so frail I might as well.

25:10 I have to speak here. In gen 9 you can use terrain extender pincurchin and use life orb, max speed, max special attack, +SpA Nature Alolan-Raichu to actually deal a lot of damage. It can one shot things like Great Tusk and even Iron Treads with surf, electric and psychic is a little bit better in offense than normal Raichu's mono electric. I have teams built around it that I can share!
electric terrain is not worth using in gen 9 ou, trust me i'm the number 1 believier in the archetype and i gave up a long time ago lol. it gets carried really hard by tapu koko and rising voltage, koko was just a great mon to have on your team regardless and rising voltage was what actually made electric terrain worth building, without those two things there's no point
This concept is one of the main reasons why I hate when people claim that newer Pokemon designs are not as good as old gen’s, these are all amazing designs and frankly some of the coolest Pokemon in the whole series are from the past few games
They're building on the success of already good designs. Those criticisms are largely leveled against the brand new designs lacking the inspiration the the original.
At one point, I got Alolan Exeggutor up to 8th in gen 8 National Dex. It was an a sun+trick room team. Harvest Sitrus Berry was great in the sun. While his typing is a mixed bag, most Trick Room setters are Psychic type, so it was really valuable to have his weaknesses not overlap with my other setters. There were some really nice resistances, and mine carried Substitute to take advantage of some massive resistances.. Finishing Trick Room with a substitute up was especially valuable, as it allowed a free setup. My team would not function without him. That being said, he really needs the right team to work. He's a bad option for 99% of teams, and of the remaining 1%, he's only a strong option on maybe 10% of those. So he's strong on maybe 1 in 1000 teams.
Favorite regional variant for me has to be Hisuian Zoroark. I absolutely love the japanese yokai inspired design they went with it, on top of its unique normal/ghost typing.
Yeah you neglected to mention a couple of pre-evolutions (Corsola and Mr Mime) with as much of a singles niche if not more than their evolved forms. I'm pretty sure CorsolaG was actually OU in early gen 8.
For anyone wondering, even the lowest roll of choice band galarian darmanitan earthquake still one shots max hp max defense toxapex. What were they thinking?
I just wish regional forms where branching evolutions, similar to how eevee works. Right now I often find myself dissapointed because getting the "correct" form I want can be difficult (or even impossible).

I wonder how Hisuian Goodra with sap sipper would pair in doubles with something with bullet seed.
Jimothy Cool upload 🤩
In Gen 10 Ferrous Amphora will be the Greece inspired regional form of Iron Mugulis and it will be the new strongest pokemon in the game.
Goodra-H gets knock off as of the SV DLCs! Still lacking in recovery or rocks but it's nice to see one of my faves get some love
