- Local news team investigates the problem with Samsung washers exploding leading to a national recall. Several parts of this investigation, from first person experience to an explosion, to the national investigation and resulting recall.
And Here we are again… 6 years of Samsung recalls and as of December 24th, 2022, there’s ANOTHER recall. No more explosive washers now the issue is far more serious than before. The latest recall is for a short circuit that can occur at random.
I bet it was because of Samsung's bad suspension and it was in a spin cycle and got extremely unbalanced. I recommend the Speed Queen tr7000 it has great suspension unlike Samsungs and is built to last
garbage washers, garbage dryers, garbage appliances. no service. no help. garbage company.
so you don't like Samsung?
I'm so lucky that I never recommended any Samsung appliances like these when I got into more appliances that are apart from portable cooling fans during my late elementary school, and early middle school days.
Are you let me get Samsung appliance or you force me get ugly appliance
What's there to investigate? The washers are cheaply made and they shake themselves apart when an unbalanced spin happens. Took me 3 minutes to resolve the "mystery". Same thing used to happen with LG top loaders.
I had one of those exploding machines. Although it never exploded it was serviced 7 times within 2 years and was down usually a month everytime. Luckily I had taken out an extended warranty. When one repairman told me aout these washing machines coming apart during the spin cycle I immediately contacted Samsung. They told me that they were reviewing these complaints but believed that these incidents were because the washing machines were not placed on level surfaces. While Samsung was not taking any responsibility for this problem they mailed me a magnetic decal. I was given instructions to affix this over the washing machines control knob. It basically blacked out every wash selection except the gentle cycle so that the washing machine wouldn't destroy itself. Sears was where I purchased the machine along with the extended warranty provided me a full refund provided I that I purchase a washing machine, any brand I choose, from them. That was in their extended warranty agreement and kudos to them. I purchased an LG and about 6 months later Samsung agreed to give customers a full refund. The problems I had with that machine were the following: 1. The lid lock sensor failed. Although the lid did lock the sensor didn't register it. The machine doesn't run unless it registers the lid being locked. 2. Water level sensor failed. The water would fill to the top of the tub and do nothing. I would have to put the machine in spin mode to drain out the water. 3. Motor issue according to code on washer control panel and machine did nothing. 4. Motor issue again. 5. Motor issue again and this replacement worked. 6. Motor clutch or transmission failed. The repairman really had to tear down the washer to replace the clutch attached to the Motor. The washing machine with its drum out ans on its side along with other parts looked like the robot from Lost In Space being fixed. Lol. 7. Hot water sensor or control that allows the hot water to enter the tub failed. This unit had roughly 2 pages of error codes where you would need to contact a repairman as the machine wouldn't work. The only code that you could fix was the clothes being out of balance within the tub. Worst appliance I ever owned. I used a local laundromat more than I used that washer during the 2 years I had it.
I love their initial response of "You're using the machine wrong and that's why it blew up" like wut ???
Even overloaded, a washer should never just explode like that and the fact that the first thing they did was blame the customer says a lot about them as a company. I will never buy a Samsung appliance and I always do a ton of research before I buy any brand
Differences:
Speed queen is heavy duty
Other washer have rods that hold the drum and not strong
Did they all forget to remove the shipping bolts that need removal at the time of install ? If you do not do this, this is likely to happen because the machine is suspension locked with shipping bolts.
What shipping bolts?
Shipping bolts are only installed in front loaders.
7:00 is this an LG washer banging? Please tell me
Lg did make these
It's literally the Samsung shown 1 second later.
I just gave up on mine. The absolute worst appliance I have ever dealt with. Absolute garbage.
What's wrong with it?
Apparently it has shock absorber rods that go bad and the barrel shakes and stops the spin cycle. Replaced them and a month later same problem. @@TYP1970
Wonder why??? Not made in America!!
Sad specimen..
Well, I was thinking of getting new appliances but know I just want to buy the old ones from back in the day. They didn't blow up and they washed your clothes very well. Even the Fridge kept your items cool without exploding, yeah give the vintage stuff please.
Seems like a balance issue
If I were you I would leave it outside
This is the installers fault, it was not installed properly.
Maybe.
Good one 😂
Sick of all of the what-ifs.
What if the room was full of puppies and babies and kittens.
The explosion is traumatic enough.
Anyone else hear because lid broke off like a cheap ford car? lol
Lg made that they blew apart and they did a recall making it inoperable by slowing the rpm down so bad it leaves close wet most peoples wont even wash it says load unbalanced. Lg should be sued.
This video was about Samsung. Are you blind?
So sad they make nothing to last anymore. I wonder what joe Biden says about this
Wait your machines leveling leg is not level ,That’s why it washer shaking so much. Pls reply to me. See here for the leveling leg is not level 7:01 and 7:15 please reply to me
Spin cycle to fast. Cheap metal and plastic parts
Samsung=trash phones trash washer trash dryer trash appliances
That's because these types of washers they have a very weak suspension and they have a very high spin speed and they spin approximately 1000 to 1200 hundred Rpm revolutions per minute and what happens is the washer goes off balance and the cabinet is also weak and when it's spinning the whole washer itself will go off balance and then it will explode because of the high spin speed and weak cabinet and weak suspension rod's that actually hangs the tub in the washer and that's why people should just use common sense Not to buy this piece of Garbage washer.
And again once again old school washers are way better than New high efficiency washers today it's a proven fact that old school washers are way better so better Luck Next time because these New washers anymore are cheaply made and they are made to break and for all the damages these people should be sued for good for making garbage washing machines that breaks
I have a fancy Samsung washing machine I don't overload it. I do miss old reliable washers.
Do not it Samsung trash 🗑️
