Yes! Dan's face (and his actions) always tell his own story with the song. Most of us usually just say that Dan IS the song. Watching his eyes, is especially important -- especially in this one. 😀 The harmonica takes the place of the bagpipes that will often be played with this song. Yes! Dan's opera stance, and sound, are AWESOME!!! My favorite part of this, is how he DEFINITELY does as you mentioned, and follows the journey of the song. One of the first thing that my youngest daughter and I realized, is that after he hits the verse that proclaims, "When we've been HERE [not THERE, as is usually sung] 10,000 years..." though he continues to sing the written words, "...was blind, but now I see!" he only opens his PHYSICAL eyes for a quick little glimpse, once. Other than that, all the way to the end, when he sings those words, it's his SPIRITUAL SIGHT that is being portrayed. Dan is definitely a believer. If you'd like to hear another one that is just tremendous, it's called "For All," and it was written (and originally sung) by Roy Khan. When you do react to that one, be SURE you watch the outro, as well. It's VERY important to the whole song. Also, there near the end, you mentioned several of Dan's FAVORITE singers, from whom he learned, through listening. Also, he HAS had classical training. Plus he has been a vocal coach, himself. EXCELLENT REACTION in total! I'll definitely be watching for more Dan reactions in your court. Thank you very much! 😀
Hey Uncle Momo. How great you are reacting to this phenomenal and extraordinary vocalist, Dan Vasc, who has a special place in my ❤️🇧🇷. He sings with his voice, with his eyes, with his body and with his facial expressions. He puts his soul into every musical note 🎶, he sings with all the truth in his heart!!! ✨️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He is unmatched and unsurpassed🤩 This is the best version of Amazing Grace I've ever heard. His version and the respect he had for the song were admirable, as he is a Christian 🙌!!! Looking forward to more reactions from Dan. Thank you so much for your great words and reaction. Big hug Uncle Momo.
Great reaction to Dan's "Amazing Grace," which is my favorite version of this timeless hymn. I love it when Dan takes it up a notch after his harmonica part because that verse is supposed to be sung victoriously and often isn't, if it is even sung. Most of what Dan does isn't easy. He actually is classically trained, warms up really well prior to any recording, and literally doesn't speak for at least 24 hrs after recording to let his vocal cords rest. Dan definitely can do opera and Broadway as he's shown in his Nessun Dorma, Time to Say Goodbye duet, Phantom of the Opera covers (Music of the Night is a must), Gethsemane (from Jesus Christ Superstar), etc. He's so versatile it's uncanny & he literally draws you into the songs. Btw...He's also quite funny, as well. You'll discover his sense of humor in videos like "Pour Some Sugar on Me", etc. Welcome to the Dan Vasc experience. Looking fwd to seeing you discover more of his music.😊
Dan Vasc version of Amazing Grace beyond amazing. It's otherworldly and surely is the best version of this iconic song. Thank you so much for another awesome reaction to this masterpiece by Dan Vasc.
Huge Dan fan here…….you mentioned his facial expressions. I think Dans most expressive and emotive performance is when he sings Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. While watching that and Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera my very first thoughts were wow, Dan could 100% perform on Broadway. He is classically trained and it’s definitely evident in his performance of the two musicals I mentioned previously as well as his Opera performance of Nessun Dorma by Puccini. Apparently Dan warms his vocals one day; records the next day; then stays silent the day after. It’s his way to take care of those powerful pipes he’s got. Hail VascNation ❤
For me the best version of this classic, wonderfully interpreted by Dan Vasc. It just takes that fantastic voice to have such an effect. Goosebumps. I'm always impressed. Great reaction and I'm looking forward to more reactions with and about Dan Vasc ♥️🤘
Vasc Nation is enjoying your reactions! This song is special to me because I first discovered Dan through this song when my dad passed away. He can do anything!! You must react to Music of the Night from the Phantom of the Opera and Nessun Dorma. Dan does all genres of music at the highest level!!
Wow thank you so much for your wonderful reaction to Dan’s Amazing Grace performance!!! Appreciate your insight into Dan’s journey , the hard work, dedication etc! You will see that we are all a very loyal fan base of Dan and perhaps a bit protective of Dan😅 His music brings hours of joy and most importantly he is such a humble human being. I will join you on your Dan journey!
Hi - Please try Dan Vasc -ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH - ELVIS PRESLEY TRILOGY(A Tribute to his dad who passed. The last of the three Elvis songs you can actually see him hesitate and the tears. What a genuine person
A miracle was born. Dan Vasc's success reflects his hard work, dedication and passion for his craft. This boy is a true combination of talent, hard work and determination!!!! She literally becomes the song she sings and draws you into her world. Then all of a sudden he kicked in UA-cam's door and everyone is talking about him!!! Your star is rising higher and higher! You are a fantastic guy! I have never been impressed by a singer like this! It's a real heart booster to listen to him! And it's fucking good!!!/ sorry/ His song Amazing Grace will accompany me on my last "journey"!
Thank you so much for another wonderful reaction to Dan Vasc. I am so glad to chose to take a deep dive into the beginning of this gifted artist's musical history and how you appreciate his hard work and dedication to his craft. I hope you will continue down this rabbit hole for more. I would suggest Nessun Dorma, I'll Make a Man Out of You, Bring Me to Life, and I could go on because you won't be disappointed with any song you choose to listen to.
The author of this hymn was John Newton. When you know his life story, it is even more meaningful to listen to. I am so honored to be one of his descendants.
It seems you have you have fallen down the Vasc rabbit hole like the rest of us. You will undoubtedly enjoy the journey discovering the talent of the amazing Dan Vasc. There is a very good reason Dan has one million subs, he is truly amazing. He is in my opinion, the most versatile singer on UA-cam and beyond. Thanks for your reaction to this one. New sub here, more Dan Vasc please!
Enjoyed your reaction. Welcome to Vasc Nation! Dan spent years in classical voice training as well as contemporary voice training. You said you also react to opera. Well - check out Dan's "Nessun Dorma" But you really can't go wrong with any of Dan's songs. He could sing the phone book and it would still be amazing.
Dan’s father passed away in 2017 from cancer and this was one of his favorite songs. I think that Dan could be thinking about his dad. Also, his dad gave him that harmonica when Dan was 7 years old.
Great reaction thank you..Dan's journey has been long and hard.. but watching him grow has been great from an awkward 20 year old to his present phenomenal self.. Dan will always add to anything he covers, he is full of surprises and is a fun person too... He is able to draw you into his performance. A young Christian rock singer, proud of his beliefs and sings loud and proud about them.. I want this version for my final journey home...
Highly recommend Dan's versions of "Time To Say Goodbye" - ANDREA BOCELLi & SARAH BRIGHTMAN cover and "Nessun Dorma" - GIACOMO PUCCINI'S TURANDOT cover. This man is so very talented! Thank you for your reaction.
Thank you for your continued support and insightful response (I really enjoyed it) to this epic cover by Dan. Predisposition is one thing, but achieving such an impressive voice through hard work and a lot of discipline is another. It was difficult at the beginning and I had to be motivated by good friends to keep believing in myself. He has achieved the reward of 1 million subscribers. thank you for sharing......
Hi Momo, Thanks for another great reaction to the phenomenal Dan. I hope you do check out Dan's classical side - musical theater scenes like The Music of the Night or the Gethsemane scene from Jesus Christ Superstar are stage-worthy, and he does Nessun Dorma and Time to Day Goodbye. There's also his mind-blowing "one-man choir" version of the Hallelujah Chorus, where he sings all four parts: bass, tenor, alto, and soprano(!). If you want to see a variety of Dan's range and vocal techniques in one song, check out Bring Me to Life or Burn Butcher Burn. IMO, Dan has really hit his stride in the last four or five years, but many of the earlier songs are terrific too, including MANY that are not metal or metalized, and you can definitely see the progression over the years. Speaking of Steve Perry, you could try Faithfully for a gorgeous, non-metal Journey cover. And at some point you'll want to check out his terrific band, Fearless - there's a video from their album, A Tale with No End, and another where they host Fabio Leone in a great performance of Dawn of Victory. Fabio is the song's original singer and one of Dan's idols. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to your journey with Dan.
@@UNCLEMOMO He’s got over 240 on his channel! He’s left them all up to show people what hard work can do. He’s put up a lot of helpful playlists, 0:06 0:06 0:06 too, so enjoy. Edited to add: When Dan first posted on UA-cam it was just a hobby, and many of the early ones are just interesting from that point of view. If you’re interested in his progression , you might consider looking at some of the earlier ones paired with later rerecordings. Two great examples are A Kiss from a Rose, recently redone as a metalized duet, and Dawn of Victory, redone, as I mentioned, with Fearless.
Thank You So Very Much for your reaction!! I was So Happy to hear that you went all the way back to his first video!! Your genuine interest in Dan is So Very Much Appreciated & relatable!! 🥰🙏🏻❤️🎙🎶🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Dan's performance of Gethsemane (Jesus Christ Superstar) is worth watching. Please check it out sometime. Nobody can sing (live) it like Dan. Thanks for your reaction! subscribed 😊
