The most unrealistic part of this movie was someone actually getting something from a claw machine
That one hits hard..claw machines are so annoying
I tried to teach my kids a lesson about what a waste of money claw machines are last week. It totally backfired - 2 out of 3 actually got something, first try!!

Given all the other toys “play toy” when Andy comes and how Andy is much bigger than them, I’m guessing his Space fleet training kicks in to follow the natives.

My personal theory on this is that it's some kind of compulsive instinct, because he is, in fact, a toy. If all it took was for one delusional toy line (apparently ALL Buzz Lightyears are delusional) to shatter forever the perception that toys aren't really alive, then it would alter human history forever. Evidently, despite being instinct, it isn't irresistible, as we have the awesome scene of Sid getting his comeuppance.

@@eldonm2770 Not even close. In the meeting at the beginning of the movie, Woody tells the toys to make sure they have a moving buddy because "We only have one week left until the move." And the birthday party got moved to "today" even though his birthday isn't until next week, because "obviously [his mom] wanted to have the party before the move".
Oh! I forgot about that. I just assumed based on the fact that no sane person would get a kid new sheets, posters, and more because of a new toy unless there was a long time before they would move.

Also, regarding Buzz acting like a toy even though he didn’t believe he was one, that can be explained by either 2 things:
1) Buzz was following the lead of the other toys since they have experience living in the same environment that he’s on to “survive.”
Or 2 more likely) Woody, despite not liking Buzz, knew that a toy who doesn’t believe he’s a toy would find it natural to talk to a regular human i.e. Andy. So he told Buzz to act like a toy in order to not freak out Andy.
