I am glad to hear I am not the only one who sometimes cold presses before cleaning. Thank you as always for sharing your experiences and info. And for showing if it did not completely work the first time, you do it again.
Captain Marvel under Big Bertha for 3 days 😅. She’s straightened him out alright! Great upload, Jerry. A departure from using the press and works wonderfully. Congrats again on the gamble.
I do the same thing with my books, except I let the book hang on the towel rack in my bathroom, while the shower produces steam for about 5 to 10 minutes.....then put the book between some heavy glass with a box of comics on top.........they come out perfectly flat and smooth. Works like a charm to the point where i look for wavy books to buy cheap, cause I know its an easy fix.
I use my kids cold vapor fogger to the same effect. I let the book sit in a tote with the fogger for an hour, let the book air dry to the point it feels cool to the touch but not wet, and then press. Cold press for waves, heat press for indentions or creases.
If you are going to use a cloths steamer you might consider using a fine wire suspended from the cloths hanger rack and hanging the book from the wire at the center fold. You can steam the book from below assuring the steamer doesn’t spit any water on the book. You also have the advantage of judging the amount of moisture absorbed by the pages as the pages curl
Great job Jerry. I like that old press, it's really cool. I'm curious what you think the grade is going to be on this one? #keepitcasual #fullwatch #growtogether
You can use the heat press, without turning the heat on, as a cold press to help flatten books. You can also use flat surfaces - like coffee table display books, or glass panels from furniture - with the book sandwich in between. Then put weight on top and let sit for a couple of days.
@@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098 it’s all good. I thought I missed something cause you said 3 days and everything looked different. Keep up the good work. Love watching your videos

Appreciate that Michael. My pleasure and thank you for supporting the channel. Stay tuned.
Fabulous results Jerry. The old school ways still work if used properly. Well done.👍
Thank you Roger! Keep an eye out for one for sale in the Sunny State of Florida!

Thanks for sharing. Truly old school the way I like it. Appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Stay tuned.
I could smell that book when you opened it to steam. It smells great! 😂 Big Bertha is a sexy press for an old lady 😅.
Hahahahaha. You are definitely right Mike!

Thank you Jeff. I do have some apparatuses that assist me off camera. Producing uploads at times limits me what I can do. Stay tuned my friend.
Always fun to watch you work. It was for clothes until you stole it for comics 😂 👍 Video Jerry
Thank you Trev. I steel a lot of things in the house and use them for my sinister deeds. Hahahaha
Another awesome video Jerry. Keep up the great videos
Thank you Ken. Appreciate you watching my friend!
I love that old press. I don't need one but I want one.
Thank you David! I don’t need one either! 😜

Great job Jerry. I like that old press, it's really cool. I'm curious what you think the grade is going to be on this one? #keepitcasual #fullwatch #growtogether
Thank you Gary. It definitely is a cool one. I have to look at it more closely before I send it to CGC for my prediction. Stay tuned my friend.
Excellent job! Any chance staples become rusty after steaming?
Great name for the press!
Thank you! I never experienced the staples rusting. If the staples had rust before the process I would say the steam would not help. Stay tuned.
Very cool video.
Thank you. Appreciate you stopping by.
Awesome 👍
Thank you Brandon!
Im going to have to find a cold press now

I’m sure you will find one Scott!
Yes Michael, not as powerful and equal in pressure than Big Bertha!
Went from 3 hours to 3 days. That was some long hours
I know. I went away for the weekend. HahahHa
