@@highxj yeah I’d be surprised by that as well. I’m not sure how much difference there is between guns I have but 1.08-1.09” looks like it works in everything I own.
@@jamesyoung4545 yeah I had thousands of rounds loaded no problems. Went and made some small adjustments and didn’t do my due diligence after. Luckily I only loaded a couple hundred rounds. Unfortunately I took those rounds to a match.
@@mrdato116 yeah it’s one of those things that often folks don’t know about. I think a lot of guns will get a bad rap or written off by their owners and so often it’s actually ammo issue. Even factory ammo can vary widely and choke up ultra reliable guns.
With rifled firearms if the cartridge is too long and you stuff the bullet into the lands and grooves of the barrel that can cause all kinds of problems like failure to go into battery failure to extract. A simple test is colloquially known as a plunk test. You drop the bullet down into the chamber and see if it sticks or if it falls out again it should also make a nice plunk sound. Here, I forcibly push it into the chamber and you can see that the longer round sticks in the chamber. Earlier when shooting a match a long bullet didn’t let the slide close and it also wouldn’t extract. So the rounds are loaded within spec fit in a chamber gauge, but for this particular gun, they are too long and they will not reliably function.
@@JS-dt1tn This was hand loaded ammo and it just wasn’t compatible with that barrel. I wouldn’t consider asking them why that ammo didn’t work. If I was having issues with a variety of factory ammunition it might be different. Thanks for watching.
I was a little surprised to find that my DWX Compact had a shorter throat than my Shadow 2 Compact.

Yep, know the feeling, I had to resize each bullet, and did the same thing to make sure they would load correctly.
@@jamesyoung4545 one of the dangers when reloading. Make sure it works and check everything including the chamber fit.
@@ACxREAL Yep it was a lesson learned, as I was starting into reloading now I know better, and am patient, have to be in reloading.

@@ACxREAL I hear you, I now keep a log and review sheet to help with avoiding mishaps.
Where do you get that tester at?
The shockbottle Hundo case gauge you can get it at places like shooters connection or Ben Stoeger pro shop other similar outlets.
You can also get them at most hardware stores like home Depot, ACE hardware, or Grainger. I have two of them.
Yep, I got remnan ammo. Had glock 19 not go into battery. Took out the barrel and started putting bullets in. Some were so fat , they wouldn't go in.
