I love your coop, did you build it? We have the Chickcozy door and really like it! This is our first year with chickens and one of the stipulations for building our coop was that we needed to get an automatic door. This door is not only very simple, but the cost was very reasonable. You have an adorable family. Thanks for sharing! 😊🐓🐝
Investing in an automated door would have saved me a lot of time when I made my predator proof coop and run last year.I'm hoping to put up an electric fence next year so my older girls can have a little fun! Congratulations on the door! it looks lovely on your coop!
You should also make automatic feeders. I can go away for 4 days! I made my automatic waterers from 13 gallon plastic trash cans - need to use a small bungee cord to keep the top from flipping open.
@@AcresOfAdventure It's super easy. Get the cups and drill the holes in the side of the trash can several inches up from the bottom. Then screw them in and fill with water. Done. There are some that use PVC pipe and use collected rain water, but I don't have that system.
I am interested in this door, but it seems that the door is smaller than my none-automatic door hole. That is not matter, I just wondering if the hole is big enough for big hens like Buff Orpington?
Well I think u said you are from Michigan, please be honest and let us know how it has worked this winter. I don't know if where u r u got this last ice storm? How does it hold up in ice and snow?
@@AcresOfAdventure our Run Chicken door opens vertically on a ratchet system. The single mechanism is a bit simpler (in my opinion) and might be better in extra-cold climes.
If only it was the American branded automatic chicken coop door by FarmLite (; Jk, this door seems nice but the battery life on it I bet is under 3 months and a predator could definitely pry that thing open. Would love to send you one of my doors and you can see which one lasts longer! Mitch with FarmLite
@@doreengilchrist724 Hey Doreen. My door is bigger than the other doors on the market. The opening is about 12 inches in height by 9 inches in width. The brahma's full grown are quite large so I'm going to be honest and say I'm not sure. They should be able to duck under to get in.
That’s not so accurate-most have three options. Day/night sense, time, and manual. Some even have a remote! The batteries are nice. Yet I wonder how long until you have to replace them…
. Will it perform well in very cold temps? Like your video especially the one how to keep the chicken in water in winter got a rubber one and put it in my run so they are use to drinking out of it They are standing in it to stay cool are temps running over 100 degrees right now.
No hate my friend but i think one of the reason why cesar is attacking your kids its because he thinks the kids are a threat to his hens he sees the chasing, running and picking up as a threat. So that could be a reason why he is aggresive.
Getting an automatic door opener is definitely a game changer, love my chicken guard!
Yes it is awesome!

Are you still enjoying this door? how did it hold up in the winter?

It has been awesome to have! We will always have one for our coops now
Automatical doors are awesome! I have a hensafe door, the best thing about it, it is solar powered and works even in the winter!
Totally agree!
Definitely need 2 of these! Got more chickens than i know what to do with for a family of 4! Really enjoying your videos!
They are so simple and very nice looking! Thanks for watching Josh!
Just ordered one threw your link.. Thank you for all your videos.
Great video! Yea, I like that automatic door and I’ve seen several other doors, but that one is nice! So great you have your little helpers there :)
They sure love helping all the time!
Just you need bee and behave! Beekeepper is very good hobby and family has a lot of honey!!!! Thank for showing video
Bless you, you need some battery powered tools.
Oh wait yall got a cat!?! Haha congrats i remember watching your vdo about mice and yall saying that you didnt have one! Nice door I really want one.
We have an indoor cat, still no outdoor farm cats thought! The door works great and is very simple to set up
Thank you for sharing!! We need to do this as well.
It’s a big game changer. Opens up possibility to have more hands off with them when we don’t have the time.

I want to work on that next so when we plan to go on vacation we have that possibility. Thanks for the idea!

It doesn't look like a very wide opening? Do your large breeds get out of it ok?
Does it works during very cold winter ❄️☃️?
Is it keeping up with the time? I keep having to adjust the time because it lags behind by a good 10-20 minutes-sometimes more
Looks great
Thank you Jerris! We have been liking it!
I've been looking over the site, very cool option! Did yours come with a cord? I can't find the cord length, does it say on the package by chance?
You have to buy the cord separate. Not sure about the cord length. The door is awesome you will love it!

It didn’t do great in ice storms, ice blocks the doors from moving, I’m sure most doors might have that problem though

Did your chicken food get damp?? It looked really clumpy. Beware of moldy food
We noticed that I believe the next day after this video and dumped all this feed
Are you having any trouble with the doors not opening in cold temperatures?
No it has worked just fine :)

I’m getting 2 Brahma hens and I’m having a hard time finding an automatic door that would be big enough. Do you carry one that would be big enough?

Do you ever worry that a chicken would be going through the door and it would close on them?
This door has a detector so if it feels something it’s closing on it opens back up
Ya but $143.00 for a door. Nope.
There’s others for less so what makes this one worth that sticker?
Operates with batteries, also can set it by time which no other door on the market can do

Yeah I know, we just carry a shovel in the run when kids are in there so they can protect themselves. We try to tell them to stop running…oh kids 🙈
@@AcresOfAdventureYep a couple of good whacks with a shovel usually does the trick. 😊
