I'm really high on the class. I bet you see a good amount play. I think 5-6 skipped a redshirt last class. There's going to be more. Olugbode will play. Lang may start at left tackle as a freshman. The other o lineman may play they're physically ready. One of the other receivers will play maybe both. The RB from Ohio is better than Morron and could be the third back. Hilson will play. The tight end is a steal going to be awesome. For real this class is loaded. There's still a lot of good talent on the team too. I'd be fine with Weigmann I haven't heard anything on Moss think that's not happening but we're final 3 for Weigmann. Oh the estl safety is early enrollee he's going to play too. Loaded class.
Burden under performed this year, especially after the season he had last year, it was expected for him to make another jump. He did spectacular game changing plays, however he also had bone headed penalties and diva actions as well. I’d almost argue Theo wease was more consistent of a receiver this year than burden. Seemed anytime the offense needed a spark Theo was the target.
I love Theo, and Burden's personal-foul penalties were bad. If you want to say he underperformed, I would blame more factors around him. Football is the biggest team game of all.
He can’t throw himself the ball. It was 100% on Cook and Kirby for Luthers year. They wasted him. Next year we see if it was Cook, Kirby or both. If its kirby our passing game will be worse as we dont have a Theo or Luther on the roster
I completely agree. He didn’t have the impact he should have had this year. His numbers reflect that. 676 yards, very underwhelming. Wease on the other hand was impressive and much more consistent.
Burden hate is insane. Fr year he was a 2nd to 3rd option. He was playing boundary instead of slot, & Lovett was a 1000yd wr. Cook was a 1st yr QB. 2023 AP 2nd team All American. 2024 played with a backup QB, & a very injured starter the entire season. Had 81tgts 61recs. 11ypc. Wease for example had 90tgts only 55recs. He had way more drops. Burden had 86 catches in 2023. That's 25 more catches than 2024. Its not his fault they weren't getting the ball to him. He had more catches in 2024 than even tgts in 2023. That's crazy talk.
Last year he acted like he wanted to get the ball. This year he seemed to play very average until he absolutely had to unleash on winning drives. I will say that his commitment did turn the tide of Mizzou recruiting.
@@adamowen366 Dude, he had 122 targets in 2023, 86 receptions. He was targeted 81 times this year. That's a difference of 41 targets. 41 tgts is more than any other pass catcher even had on the team this year. That's how big of a difference it is. He was dbl teamed on every play, & didn't have a healthy SEC caliber QB throwing to him all season. What was he supposed to do differently?
@@IsaacBruce88 if he stay healthy. EJ Gaines had the talent to be a pro bowler couldn’t stay healthy. Nick Bolton is nice so it could be him when it said and done in recent years. But the best is Kellen Winslow. He’s not going to be better than him. Also, William Moore and Sean Witherspoon was also, beasts, but couldn’t stay healthy.
I would think that we have Pine and Horn and zollers. we can spin the money on the off. line rather than qb. a great off line and some good running backs make your qb look good.
With all due respect, where the program is at right now with all this momentum over the last few years, both on the field and in recruiting, we can’t afford to hope Pyne or Horn can replace consistently what Cook brought to the game. We’ve seen Pyne have a much lower floor and we’ve seen Horn throw 8 career passes (and hasn’t played in over a year). Zollers should not have to be a starter as a freshman. Need a reliable bridge for at least 1 year. If we mess up QB and have a bad year, it can throw momentum off the tracks
An injured True Fr, 3rd yr injured guy who we aren't even sure if he's coming back, & a 5'9 QB that is at best a serviceable backup. You're comfortable with that?
No offense but I’m glad you aren’t the coach. Zollers is a true freshman coming off a broken ankle, Sam Horn has proven anything and is coming off Tommy John, and Pyne hasn’t done enough. You need some sort of serious competition for the guys already in the QB room
@@tylercollins3130 I think if Horn was dedicate he would have been the best choice this year. However, he wanted to play baseball and that led to his injury. You have one life to live and he wanted to play baseball. It is what it is.
Id go Weigman if given the choice of him or Moss. Though Sluka the former UNLV QB is an intriguing option. And in terms of LB3, I think he was just as advertised on the field. Luther has never been a elite route runner (though he improved quite a bit in his time here). He was more get into open space and make something happen tyoe of reciever, a liken him to more of a Deebo Samuel type. But noticably his ball tracking skills are elite. Arnold was sacked 35 times in basically 8 games. Over 4 sacks a game. Yikes.
@LockedOnMizzou And he's already played in the SEC. He's already played at MISS, MIZ, LSU, AUB. So the players size, speed, & crowd noise are less likely to phase him. He beat ALA 133ruyds, 5.4ypc(w/a sack taken out). I like Arnold with a full year under his belt & a chance to work with Moore a real college OC & QB guru. I'm not saying Arnold is the end all be all, but I like him the most out of the 3, & we get to steal another OU player, which is always a bonus. I just want a dual threat guy, b/c we are still playing 80% of our schedule at a talent deficit, at least as far as rankings go, & a dual threat QB negates a lot of that against great defenses. Statue QBs only work at places like UGA, & even this year everyone's seeing that Beck isn't all that great.
@LockedOnMizzou Nobody's perfect, lol. I'm with you on that. All of them have their issues. I might discount his issues being due to the amount of pressure he was constantly under, but he's definitely not mistake free.
