Really beautiful song by Mr. Elton John. "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" is another song, we never forget. You look well rested now, by the way, Chad. Thanks for reaction.
Nice selection, Chad. This was Elton's first hit single, so maybe he didn't have much money then! It was from a movie and I bought the soundtrack. Beautiful, simple song that kind of brings to mind Words by the Bee Gees because of its simple romantic message. Lovely way to start the day. I will tell you my Elton story. I have seen him a few times in concert (he is great). One time I could only afford nosebleed section seats. I climbed my way to the top of the arena and an usher stopped me. He told me Elton had some comp seats down below and wanted people up there to have them--yeah, free. So I moved way down to a spectacular seat. What a nice man; I will never forget his kind gesture.
Your Song was Elton John's first top 10 international hit. It was released in 1970 and quickly became a classic pop standard covered by many, many artists over the years. No doubt you have heard it played in stores and on tv over the years. Thank you for this reaction!
Such a beautiful song. Its a testament to the greatness of Bernie and Elton that they could produce a song that could evoke so many emotions all at once. I've loved hearing this since it came out all those years ago and the best thing is that there is so many more for you to discover Chad. Great reaction thank you xx
A beautiful song on a lovely Sunday morning! The piano, the strings and Elton’s voice all shine in this and you’re always a bright light during the weekends, Chad, thanks
Elton was always so talented, when he first started out he was also flashing with glitter & bright colored clothes. He looked awesome.👍😜😜. Great pick sweetie 😘
This is just such a beautiful song. Elton wrote the melody and Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics. This is very early on. I read they wrote the song in 1967. Elton first released it as a single on the other side of "Take Me to The Pilot" in 1970. However, Three Dog Night was the first to release it on their "It Ain't Easy" album earlier that same year. I think at this point in their lives, the big money had not come in, but it also makes a nice lyric. Thanks Chad.
I saw Elton in the summer of 1999. That tour was just Elton and a piano. That man put his heart and soul into the show. It was so good, we left shaking in our boots. It was a great night.
I’m really into Elton John and have heard many of his songs before. This is one that I’ve heard many times before and love. It’s just so sweet and beautiful! I’ve never heard this version of it before though - only ever the original studio recording. I thought this version was just as beautiful as the original. I’m excited for you to react to more Sir Elton John!
Elton was a musical prodigy who earned a piano scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music at ELEVEN!!! Bernie Taupin his lyricist is also amazing! His outrageous attire got him attention for sure. Elton (and Bernie) deserve every accolade they receive. I saw him perform at an outdoor concert in Toronto in the 80's. There was a terrible rain and wind storm and his band could not perform for threat of electrocution. He came out in high rubber boots and said if you lovely people will listen in the rain I'll play in the rain until they shut me down....and he did. They finally turned off the lights @ midnight. They even held up a couple of trains so the fans could stay until the end. A performer like that deserves respect. So many beautiful songs, "Candle in the wind" (played at Princess Diana's funeral), "Sad songs say so much", "I guess that's why they call it the blues", "Daniel" and his up tempo stuff like "Saturday Night"....endless. Another bottomless rabbit hole.
Hi, Chad: This was the first time I had ever heard Elton and I think it was 1969. He was just a new artist who might only have one hit but I didn't know and I sure did like the song. Well, look how that turned out. I do like the studio version better. Thank you for doing this one.
Definitely one of my favourite Elton song besides 'Daniel'. I do prefer the album version though. But, as always enjoyed your reaction Chad! Have a good one! 😃
I absolutely love this song. Great choice from Elton's catalog. Thank you.
Thing song is so beautiful and my favourite from Elton. Bernie Taupin writes amazing lyrics and Elton's music and delivery are perfect.

This is one of my favorite Elton songs. The 1970s had some of the best love songs ever written.
